This is really a two-hour presentation I give to high school students,

And it all started one day on a plane, on my way to TED,

seven years ago.

And in the seat next to me was a high school student, a teenager,

and she came from a really poor family.

And she wanted to make something of her life,

and she asked me a simple little question.

and I'm going to tell you what really leads to success

and makes TEDsters tick.

And the first thing is passion.

Freeman Thomas says, "I'm driven by my passion."

TEDsters do it for love; they don't do it for money.

I figured, they're not workaholics. They're workafrolics.

Alex Garden says, "To be successful, put your nose down in something

and get damn good at it."

There's no magic; it's practice, practice, practice.

And it's focus.

Norman Jewison said to me,

"I think it all has to do with focusing yourself on one thing."

"ကျွန်တော်ကတော့ အလုပ်တစ်ခုမှာ အာရုံစိုက်လုပ်ဖို့ အရေးအကြီးဆုံး လို့ထင်ပါတယ်။"

And push!

David Gallo says, "Push yourself.

Physically, mentally, you've got to push, push, push."

You've got to push through shyness and self-doubt.

Goldie Hawn says, "I always had self-doubts.

အကျိုးဆောင်ရမယ်! Sherwin Nuland ကပြောပါတယ် "ဆရာဝန်တစ်ယောက် အနေနဲ့ အများအကျိုးဆောင်ပေးရတာကို ဂုဏ်ယူမိပါတယ်။"

Sherwin Nuland says, "It was a privilege to serve as a doctor."

A lot of kids want to be millionaires.

The first thing I say is:

"OK, well you can't serve yourself;

"ကောင်းပြီ၊ မင်းတို့ ကိုယ့်အကျိုးကို မဆောင်နိုင်ကြဘူး ဆိုတော့၊

you've got to serve others something of value.

Because that's the way people really get rich."

Ideas!

စိတ်ကူးအကြံများ။ TED အဖွဲ့ဝင် Bill Gates ပြောတဲ့စကားအရ "ကျွန်တော် အကြံတစ်ခု ရှိခဲ့ပါတယ်

TEDster Bill Gates says, "I had an idea:

founding the first micro-computer software company."

ပထမဦးဆုံး micro-computer software ကုမ္ပဏီ ကို တည်ထောင်ဖို့ပါ။"

I'd say it was a pretty good idea.

အတော့်ကိုကောင်းတဲ့ အကြံတစ်ခုဘဲလို့ ကျွန်တော်ပြောချင်ပါတယ်။

And there's no magic to creativity in coming up with ideas --

ပြီးတော့ အကြံဉာဏ်ကောင်း ရှာကြံရာမှာ ဖြတ်လမ်း မရှိပါဘူး။

it's just doing some very simple things.

ရိုးရိုးလေးအချက်များကို ကြိုးပမ်းအားထုတ်သွားရန်သာ လိုတာပါ။

And I give lots of evidence.

ပြီးတော့ ကျွန်တော်ဆီမှာ သာဓကတွေ အများကြီးကို ပေးပါတယ်။

Persist!

ဇွဲနဘဲရှိရမယ်။ Joe Kraus ပြောတာကတော့

Joe Kraus says,

"Persistence is the number one reason for our success."

"မရမနေ ဇွဲနဲ့ လုပ်ကိုင်ခြင်းဟာ ကျွန်တော်တို့အောင်မြင်မှု့များရဲ့ အဓိက အချက်တစ်ခုပါ"။

You've got to persist through failure. You've got to persist through crap!

မအောင်မြင်မှုတွွေ၊ စိတ်ညစ်စရာတွေကို အံတုပြီး ဇွဲနဲ့ ကျော်ဖြတ်ရမယ်!™

Which of course means "Criticism, Rejection, Assholes and Pressure."

အဲဒါကတော့ ရှုံ့ချမှုတွေ၊ ပယ်ချခံရမှုတွေ၊ စိတ်အနှောင့်အယှက်ပေးတဲ့လူတွေ နဲ့ စိတ်ဖိစီးမှုတွေ ပါဘဲ။

So, the answer to this question is simple:

ဒီတော့ကား အရေးကြီးဆုံး အဖြေက သိပ်လွယ်ပါတယ်-
