Then again, who's to say that certain types of irrational thinking

when it comes to thinking about reasons why not to do things.

Kids can be full of inspiring aspirations and hopeful thinking,

Now, I do most of my speaking

Now, adults seem to have

a prevalently restrictive attitude towards kids,

from every "Don't do that, don't do this" in the school handbook,

As history points out, regimes become oppressive

We love challenges, but when expectations are low,

အဲဒီကနေစပြီးတော့ ရာနဲ့ချီတဲ့ကျောင်းတွေမှာ ပြောတာ၊

keynoting to thousands of educators,

ထောင်နဲ့ချီတဲ့ ပညာရေးဝန်ထမ်းတွေကို ဟောပြောတာ၊

and finally, today, speaking to you.

ပြီးတော့ နောက်ဆုံးမှာ၊ ဒီနေ့၊ ဒီကလူအားလုံးကို စကားပြောဖို့အထိ ဖြစ်လာတယ်။

I appreciate your attention today,

ဒီနေ့ အာရုံစိုက်ပေးတာကို ကျွန်မ အသိအမှတ်ပြု ကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်၊

because to show that you truly care, you listen.

ဘာဖြစ်လို့လဲဆိုတော့ ဒီလူတွေအားလုံး စစ်စစ်မှန်မှန် အလေးထားတယ်ဆိုတာကို ပြဖို့

နားထောင်ပေးခဲ့တယ်လေ။

But there's a problem with this rosy picture

ဒါပေမဲ့ ဒီနေရာမှာ ၀မ်းသာစရာ ရုပ်ပုံနဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး ပြဿနာတစ်ခု ရှိနေတယ်၊

of kids being so much better than adults.

လူရွယ်တွေထက် ကလေးတွေက အရမ်းကောင်းနေတာဆိုတာလေ။

Kids grow up and become adults just like you.

ကလေးတွေက ကြီးပြင်းလာရင် ခုဒီမှာရှိနေတဲ့ လူတွေလို လူကြီးတွေပဲ ဖြစ်လာကြမှာပါ။

Or just like you? Really?

ခုဒီမှာရှိနေတဲ့လူတွေလိုပဲတဲ့လား၊ တကယ်လား။

The goal is not to turn kids into your kind of adult,

ဦးတည်ရာက ကလေးတွေကို လူကြီးမင်းတို့လို လူကြီးတွေဖြစ်အောင် ပုံသွင်းပေးရမှာ မဟုတ်ဘူး၊

ဒါပေမဲ့ အခုဖြစ်ခဲ့ဖူးတဲ့ လူကြီးတွေထက် ပိုကောင်းတဲ့ လူကြီးတွေဖြစ်အောင်တော့ လုပ်ပေးရမှာ။

but rather, better adults than you have been,

which may be a little challenging, considering your guys' credentials.

နည်းနည်းလေးတော့ စိန်ခေါ်မှုရှိတဲ့အရာပေါ့၊

ဒီလူတွေရဲ့ အရည်အချင်းကို စဉ်းစားလိုက်မယ်ဆိုရင်လေ။

But the way progress happens,

ဒါပေမဲ့ ဒီဖြစ်စဉ် ဖြစ်နေတဲ့ပုံက

is because new generations and new eras

ဘာဖြစ်လို့လဲဆိုတော့ မျိုးဆက်သစ်တွေနဲ့ ခေတ်သစ်က

grow and develop and become better than the previous ones.

ကြီးထွားဖွံ့ဖြိုးလာပြီး အရင်ကဟာတွေထက် ပိုကောင်းလာလို့ပေါ့။

It's the reason we're not in the Dark Ages anymore.

ကျွန်မတို့အမှောင်ခေတ်မှာနေနေတာ မဟုတ်တော့ဘူးလို့ အကြောင်းပြရာလည်း ရောက်တယ်လေ။

No matter your position or place in life,

ဘဝမှာ ကိုယ့်ရဲ့ရာထူးရာခံက ဘာကြီးပဲဖြစ်ဖြစ်၊

it is imperative to create opportunities for children,

ကလေးတွေအတွက် အခွင့်အလမ်းတွေ ဖန်တီးပေးဖို့ဆိုတာ တကယ်ကြီးကို အရေးကြီးပါတယ်။

so that we can grow up to blow you away.

အဲလိုဖြစ်မယ်ဆိုရင် ကျွန်မတို့တွေကြီးပြင်းလာပြီး လူကြီးတွေကို အနိုင်ယူပစ်လို့ရပြီပေါ့။

Adults and fellow TEDsters,

လူရွယ်တွေနဲ့ တက်ဒ်ချစ်သူတွေရေ၊

you need to listen and learn from kids,

အားလုံးပဲ ကလေးတွေကို နားထောင်ပေးပြီး ကလေးတွေဆီကနေ သင်ယူဖို့ လိုပါတယ်၊

and trust us and expect more from us.

ပြီးတော့ ကျွန်မတို့ကို ယုံကြည်ပြီး ကျွန်မတို့ဆီကနေ ပိုပိုပြီး မျှော်လင့်ပေးကြပါ။

You must lend an ear today,

အားလုံးပဲ ဒီနေ့နားရွက်တစ်ဖက် ချေးသင့်တယ်၊

because we are the leaders of tomorrow, which means

ဘာလို့လဲဆိုတော့ ကျွန်မတို့တွေက အနာဂတ်ရဲ့ ခေါင်းဆောင်တွေဖြစ်နေလို့ပေါ့၊

ဘာကိုဆိုလိုလဲဆိုတော့ ကျွန်မတို့က လူကြီးတွေအားလုံးကို အလေးထားစောင့်ရှောက်ပေးမယ်။

we're going to take care of you when you're old and senile.

လူကြီးတွေ အိုပြီး သူငယ်ပြန်လာတဲ့ အချိန်မှာပေါ့။ မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ နောက်တာပါ။

No, just kidding.

မဟုတ်သေးဘူး၊ တကယ်ပဲ ကျွန်မတို့တွေက နောက်ထပ်မျိုးဆက်တစ်ခု ဖြစ်လာတော့မယ်

No, really, we are going to be the next generation,

ဒီကမ္ဘာကို ရှေ့ဆက်သွားဖို့ လုပ်ကြမယ့်သူတွေပဲပေါ့။

the ones who will bring this world forward.

And in case you don't think that this really has meaning for you,

ပြီးတော့ တကယ်လို့များ ဒီဟာက လုံးဝအဓိပ္ပာယ်မရှိဘူးလို့ ထင်ခဲ့မယ်ဆိုရင်

remember that cloning is possible,

ပုံတူပွားတာက ဖြစ်နိုင်နေပြီဆိုတာကို သတိရပေးလိုက်ပါ၊

and that involves going through childhood again,

ဒီဟာက ငယ်ဘဝကို တစ်ခါပြန်သွားဖို့ပါ ပါတယ်လေ၊

in which case you'll want to be heard, just like my generation.

Now, the world needs opportunities for new leaders and new ideas.

Kids need opportunities to lead and succeed.
