I'm a multitasking person, and I push my students

to fly through a very creative, multitasking design process.

အရမ်းဆန်းသစ်တဲ့ မျိုးစုံလုပ်ဆောင်တဲ့ ဒီဇိုင်း လုပ်ငန်းစဉ်ကို တစ်ဟုန် ထိုးဖောက်ဖို့ တွန်းအားပေးပါတယ်။

But how efficient is, really, this multitasking?

ဒါပေမဲ့ တကယ်တမ်း မျိုးစုံလုပ်ဆောင်ခြင်းက ဘယ်လောက်များခရီးရောက်လို့လဲဗျာ။

Let's consider for a while the option of monotasking.

တစ်မျိုးတည်းလုပ်ဆောင်ခြင်းရဲ့ ရွေးချယ်စရာကို ခဏလောက်စဉ်းစားကြည့်ရအောင်ဗျာ။

A couple of examples.

နနူနာတစ်ခု၊နှစ်ခုလောက်ပေါ့။

Look at that.

ဒါကိုကြည့်လိုက်ပါဦး။

This is my multitasking activity result. (Laughter)

ဒါက ကျွန်တော့ရဲ့ပြိုင်တူလုပ်ဆောင်တဲ့မှုရဲ့ အကျိုးဆက်ပေါ့ဗျာ။ (ရယ်သံများ)

So trying to cook, answering the phone, writing SMS,

ဒီတော့ ချက်ပြုတ်ဖို့လုံးပမ်းရင်း၊ ဖုန်းလည်းဖြေရင်း၊ SMS လည်းရေးရင်းပေါ့ဗျာ။

and maybe uploading some pictures

နောက်ပြီး ဒီထူးကဲတဲ့ အသားကင်အကြောင်း ဓာတ်ပုံတွေကိုလည်း

about this awesome barbecue.

တင်နေရင်းဖြစ်ချင်ဖြစ်မှာပေါ့။

So someone tells us the story about supertaskers,

ဒီလိုနဲ့ တစ်ယောက်က ထိပ်တန်းလုပ်ဆောင်သူတွေရဲ့ ဇာတ်လမ်းကို ကျွန်တော်တို့ကိုပြောပြတယ်။

so this two percent of people who are able

ဒီတော့ ဒါ မျိုးစုံလုပ်ဆောင်တဲ့ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ကို

to control multitasking environment.

ထိန်းချုပ်နိူင်စွမ်းရှိတဲ့လူတွေရဲ့ ၂ရာခိုင်နှုန်းပေါ့။

But what about ourselves, and what about our reality?

ဒါပေမဲ့ ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေကျတော့ရော၊ ပြီးတော့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ရဲ့ ဒိဋ္ဌဖြစ်တည်မှုကျတော့ရော။

When's the last time you really enjoyed

ခင်ဗျားသူငယ်ချင်းရဲ့အသံကိုပဲ ခင်ဗျား တကယ်ကိုနှစ်ခြိုက်မိတဲ့

just the voice of your friend?

နောက်ဆုံးအကြိမ်က ဘယ်တုန်းကလဲ။

So this is a project I'm working on,

ဒီတော့ ဒါက ကျွန်တော်လုပ်ဆောင်နေတဲ့ ပရောဂျက်တစ်ခုပါ။

and this is a series of front covers

into the essence of their function.

အသုံးဝင်မှု အနှစ်ချုပ်ထိ အဆင့်လျှော့ချပစ်ဖို့ပါ။

Another example: Have you ever been to Venice?

နောက်ထပ် ဥပမာတစ်ခုဗျာ။ ခင်ဗျားတို့ ဗင်းနစ်ကိုရောက်ဖူးလား။

How beautiful it is to lose ourselves in these little streets

ကျွန်းပေါ်က ဒီလမ်းသေးသေးလေးတွေထဲ ကိုယ့်ကိုကိုယ်နှစ်မြှပ်လိုက်ရတာ

on the island.

ဘယ်လောက်များ သာယာလိုက်သလဲဗျာ။

But our multitasking reality is pretty different,

ဒါပေမဲ့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ရဲ့ပြိုင်တူလုပ်ဆောင် တဲ့ဖြစ်ရပ်ကတော့ဗျာ တစ်ခြားစီပါ။

and full of tons of information.

ပြီးတော့ သတင်းအချက်အလက် သောင်းခြောက်ထောင်နဲ့ ပြည့်သိပ်လို့။

So what about something like that

ဒီတော့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ရဲ့ စွန့်စားတဲ့ သဘောကို

to rediscover our sense of adventure?

ပြန်ရှာဖွေဖို့ ဒီလိုမျိုးလေးဆိုရင်ရောဗျာ။

I know that it could sound pretty weird to speak about mono

ဖြစ်နိူင်ခြေတွေ တစ်ပုံတစ်ခေါင်းကြီး ရှိနေပါလျက်နဲ့ တစ်ခုတည်း အကြောင်းကိုပြောရတာ

when the number of possibilities is so huge,

ခပ်ကြောင်ကြောင်နိုင်နေမယ်ဆိုတာ ကျွန်တော်သိပါတယ်ဗျာ။

but I push you to consider the option of

ဒါပေမဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်တစ်ခုတည်းကိုပဲ အာရုံစိုက်တဲ့ ရွေးချယ်မှုကို

focusing on just one task,

ထည့်စဉ်းစားဖို့ ခင်ဗျားတို့ကို တိုက်တွန်းပါတယ်။

or maybe turning your digital senses totally off.

ဒါမှမဟုတ် ခင်ဗျားတို့ရဲ့ ဒီဂျစ်တယ်အာရုံတွေကို လုံးဝပိတ်ပစ်လိုက်ခြင်းလည်း ဖြစ်ချင်ဖြစ်မယ်ပေါ့။

So nowadays, everyone could produce his mono product.

ဒီတော့ဗျာ ဒီနေ့ခေတ်မှာ လူတိုင်းဟာ သူ့ရဲ့ တစ်မျိုးတည်းထုတ်ကုန်ကို ထုတ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။

Why not? So find your monotask spot

ဘာလို့ မဖြစ်နိူင်ရမှာလဲဗျာ။ ဒီတော့ မျိုးစုံလုပ်ဆောင်နေတဲ့ ကမ္ဘာကြီးထဲမှာ

within the multitasking world.

ခင်ဗျားရဲ့ တစ်မျိုးတည်းလုပ်ဆောင်စရာ အပိုင်းကို ရှာလိုက်ပေတော့ဗျာ။
