Everything is interconnected.

အရာရာဟာ ဆက်နွှယ်နေပါတယ်။

As a Shinnecock Indian, I was raised to know this.

Shinnecock အင်ဒီယန်း ၁ ယောက်အနေနဲ့ ဒါကိုသိဖို့ ပျိုးထောင်ခံခဲ့ရပါတယ်။

We are a small fishing tribe

ကျွန်မတို့ဟာ Long Island ရဲ့ အရှေ့တောင်ဖျားမှာရှိတဲ့

situated on the southeastern tip of Long Island

ငါးမျှားတဲ့ လူမျိုစုငယ်လေးပါ။

near the town of Southampton in New York.

New York က Southampton မြို့နားမှာပါ။

When I was a little girl,

ကျွန်မငယ်ငယ်တုန်းက ပူပြင်းနွေရာသီ ၁ ရက်မှာ

my grandfather took me to sit outside in the sun on a hot summer day.

အပြင်ဘက်က နေရောင်ထဲမှာထိုင်ဖို့ အဖိုးက ခေါ်သွားပါတယ်။

There were no clouds in the sky.

ကောင်းကင်မှာ တိမ်တွေမရှိခဲ့ပါဘူး။

And after a while I began to perspire.

နောက်ပြီး ခဏအကြာမှာ ကျွန်မဟာ ချွေးပြန်လာပါတယ်။

And he pointed up to the sky, and he said,

နောက် ကောင်းကင်ကိုထိုးပြပြီး သူပြောလိုက်တာက

"Look, do you see that?

ကြည့်စမ်း၊ အဲဒါကို မင်းတွေ့လား၊

That's part of you up there.

အဲဒီမှာ ဒါမင်းရဲ့အစိတ်အပိုင်းလေ၊

That's your water that helps to make the cloud

ဒါဟာ မင်းရဲရေက တိမ်တွေ ဖြစ်အောင် ကူပေးတာလေ၊

that becomes the rain that feeds the plants

ဒါက မိုးဖြစ်လာပြီး အပင်တွေကိုဖြည့် ပေးတယ်၊

that feeds the animals."

ဒါကနေ တိရိစ္ဆာန်တွေကို ကျွေးမွေးတယ်။

In my continued exploration of subjects in nature

ကျွန်မရဲ့ သက်ရှိအားလုံးရဲ့ ဆက်နွယ်မှုကို သာဓကဆောင်နိုင်တဲ့

that have the ability to illustrate the interconnection of all life,

သဘာဝထဲက အကြာင်းအရာတွေရဲ့ မပြတ်သေးတဲ့ စူးစမ်းမှုထဲမှာ

I started storm chasing in 2008

သမီးက "အမေလုပ်သင့်တာပေါ့"လို့ ပြောပြီးနောက် ၂၀၀၈မှာ

after my daughter said, "Mom, you should do that."

မုန်တိုင်းနောက်လိုက်ခြင်းကို စတင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

And so three days later, driving very fast,

I found myself stalking a single type of giant cloud called the super cell,

capable of producing grapefruit-size hail

and spectacular tornadoes,

although only two percent actually do.

These clouds can grow so big, up to 50 miles wide

ဒီတိမ်စိုင်တွေက မိုင်၅၀အထိ ကျယ်ပြန့်နိုင်ပြီး

and reach up to 65,000 feet into the atmosphere.

လေထုထဲကို ပေ ၆၅၀၀၀အထိ ပျံတက်နိုင်ပါတယ်။

They can grow so big, blocking all daylight,

ကြီးလွန်းတော့ နေ့အလင်းရောင် အကုန်လုံးပိတ်ကာ

making it very dark and ominous standing under them.

သူတို့အောက်မှာ အရမ်းမှောင်ပြီး ကြောက်စရာ ကောင်းအောင် ရှိနေပါတယ်။

Storm chasing is a very tactile experience.

မုန်တိုင်းနောက် လိုက်ခြင်းဟာ ထင်သာ မြင်သာရှိတဲ့ အတွေ့အကြုံပါ။

There's a warm, moist wind blowing at your back

နောက်ကျောမှာ နွေးထန့်ထန့် လေကတိုက်နေပြီး

and the smell of the earth, the wheat, the grass, the charged particles.

မြေသင်းနံ့၊ ဂျုံခင်း၊ မြက်ခင်းနဲ့ ပျံ့လွင့်တဲ့ ဒြပ်မှုန်တွေ၊

And then there are the colors in the clouds

နောက်ပြီး မိုးသီးဖွဲ့နေတဲ့ တိမ်တွေထဲမှာက

of hail forming, the greens and the turquoise blues.

အရောင်တွေရှ ိတယ်။ အစိမ်းရောင်တွေ၊၊ စိမ်းပြာပြာအရောင်တွေပေါ့။

I've learned to respect the lightning.

လျှပ်စီးလက်တာကို အလေးထားတတ်ဖို့ ကျွန်မသင်ယူထားလိုက်ပြီ။

My hair used to be straight.

ကျွန်မ ဆံပင်တွေကတော့ ထောင်နေခဲ့ဖူးတာပေါ့။

What really excites me about these storms

ဒီမုန်တိုင်းတွေနဲ့ ပတ်သက်လို့ ကျွန်မကို တကယ် စိတ်လှုပ်ရှားစေတာက

is their movement, the way they swirl and spin and undulate,

သူတို့ရဲ့ရွေ့ရှားမှုပါ၊ ဝေ့ဝိုက်၊ ဝဲလည်ကာ တအိအိ လှိုင်းထပုံတွေ၊

with their lava lamp-like mammatus clouds.

သူတို့ရဲ ချော်ရည်မီးအိမ်လိုမျိုးအဆုပ် အဆုပ်တိမ်စိုင်တွေနဲ့လေ။

They become lovely monsters.

ချစ်စရာကောင်းတဲ့ သတ္တဝါကြီးတွေ ဖြစ်လာတာပေါ့။

When I'm photographing them,

ဒါတွေကို ဓာတ်ပုံရိုက်တုန်း

I cannot help but remember my grandfather's lesson.

ကျွန်မအဖိုးရဲ့ သင်ခန်းစာကို အမှတ်မရပဲ မနေနိုင်ဘူး။

As I stand under them,

တိမ်တွေအောက်မှာ ရပ်မိတဲ့အခိုက်မှာ

I see not just a cloud,

တိမ်စတစ်ခုကို တွေရုံမကပဲ

but understand that what I have the privilege to witness

နားလည်တာက ကျွန်မ မျက်မြင်ဒိဋ္ဌတွေ့ဖို့ ရတဲ့ အထူးအခွင့်အရေးဟာ

is the same forces, the same process in a small-scale version

တူညီတဲ့အင်အားတွေ၊ ပုံအသေးလေးထဲက တူညီတဲ့ဖြစ်စဉ်ပါ၊

that helped to create our galaxy, our solar system, our sun

ဒါက ကျွန်မတို့ရဲ့ ကြယ်စင်စု၊ နေအဖွဲ့အစည်း၊နေနဲ့

and even this very planet.

ဒီကမ္ဘာကိုတောင်မှပဲ ဖန်တီးဖို့ ကူပေးတယ်လေ။
