You Can Translate YouTube Videos Subtitle English to Other Languages!

Hey guys! This is a special video where I'm going to show you a cool feature on YouTube,

안녕하세요, 여러분! 이번 영상은 유튜브의 멋진 기능을 여러분께 알려드릴 특별한 영상입니다.

and ask you if you have time to help other people

그리고 여러분의 모국어로 영어를 배우시는 다른 분들을

Some of you may know this already but YouTube has a feature that allows anyone,

몇몇 분들은 이 기능을 이미 알고 계시겠지만, 유튜브에는 여러분을 포함한

including you, to submit a translation of the subtitles.

그 누구든 자막 번역을 제출할 수 있는 기능이 있습니다.

If you've used my subtitles, then you know that I create

여러분이 제 자막을 사용하고 계시다면, 여러분은

English subtitles for every video.

제 모든 영상의 영어 자막을 제가 만든다는 것을 아실 겁니다.

First, let me show you some of these features.

먼저, 이 기능의 특징 중 몇 가지를 보여드릴게요.

Here's my video on how to make the AH as in Bat vowel.

여기에 "Bat"에 들어있는 모음인 "AH"소리를 내는 방법에 대한 제 비디오가 있습니다.

And if you go over here, you can press the CC button to turn the subtitles off and on.

여러분이 이쪽으로 가시면, 자막을 켜거나 끌 수 있는 CC버튼을 누르실 수 있어요.

But if you click this gear for settings,

그러나 여러분이 설정의 이곳의 기능을 클릭하시면

you can then click on subtitles

자막 버튼을 누르실 수 있게 됩니다.

and you can see that there are four different languages here: the English, which I made

그리고 보시면 네 개의 다른 언어가 여기에 있습니다: 영어는 제가 만든 것이고요

and I put -RE here, so you know that that's something I made.

그래서 제가 대쉬 표시를 하고 "RE"를 써놔서 여러분이 그게 제가 만든 것이구나를 아실 수 있습니다.

It's not just the automatic captions.

Then someone has contributed Portuguese,

Russian, and Vietnamese caption file as well.

So you can select which language you would like to see the subtitles in.

즉, 여러분이 보고 싶은 언어 자막을 선택하실 수 있습니다.

So a great way for you to not only work on your language skills but also help someone else

그러니 여러분이 단순히 여러분의 언어 기술만 학습하시는 것이 아니라

whose English skills might not be as advanced as yours,

여러분 실력만큼 영어를 잘 하시지는 못하시는 다른 분들을 도우실 수 있게 되는

is to create a translation of the captions.

멋진 방법이 바로 자막을 번역해주시는 것입니다.

Let me show you how to do that and how to keep track of them.

제가 하는 방법과 확인하는 방법도 보여드릴게요.

YouTube has some pretty cool features

유튜브에는 꽤 멋진 기능이 있습니다.

and you may find that this becomes a fun hobby of yours.

그리고 어쩌면 이것이 여러분의 재미있는 취미가 될 수 있다는 것을 알게 되실지도 몰라요.

Let's say you find a video that you want to add captions to.

가령, 여러분이 자막을 달고 싶은 비디오를 찾는다고 해봅시다.

This video is where I showed people my wedding photos

이 비디오는 몇 년 전 제 결혼식 사진을 보여드렸던 것인데요,

from several years ago and it doesn't have any contributed caption translations.

여기에는 기부된 자막이 하나도 없습니다.

So what you can do is you can go click on the Settings button

그래서 여러분이 여기 설정 버튼을 누르시고

and then click on 'subtitles'

그 다음 '자막'버튼을 누르면

and then there's an option to add subtitles.

그러면 여기 자막 추가하기 선택이 있습니다

So when you click on that button, it opens another tab.

여러분이 이 버튼을 클릭 하시면, 다른 탭이 열립니다.

To start, you select the language that you want to add.

시작하시려면, 여러분이 추가하시고 싶은 언어를 선택하세요.

Let's say I'm going to add Spanish subtitles.

저는 스페인어 자막을 한 번 추가 해보겠습니다.

You open it up and then it takes you to the page where you can watch the video

이것을 열면 여러분이 비디오를 보실 수 있는 페이지로 넘어가고요

and then you also see in the left-hand side here.

그러면 여기 왼쪽 보이시죠.

The English caption file which I've made and then there's a place for you to translate each caption.

제가 만들어 놓은 영어 자막 파일과 여러분이 각각의 자막을 번역하실 수 있는 자리가 있어요.

So I could start typing in Spanish what I wanted to,

그래서 제가 원하는 말을 스페인어로 입력을 할 수 있게 되죠.

what I thought was a good translation for this...

제가 생각하기에 여기에 적합한 번역이 있고...

and so on, I won't type the whole caption translation here.

그리고 등등... 저는 자막 전체를 여기에 번역하지는 않겠습니다~

But when you're done, you can delete it if you feel like you've messed up and you don't want to save it.

그렇지만 여러분이 번역을 마치신 후, 마음에 들지 않으시고 저장하고 싶지 않으시면 지우실 수 있어요.

You can submit if you're done and you're ready

번역을 마치신 후 준비되셨다 싶으시면 제출하실 수 있고요,

and if you're not, if you don't have time to finish it all at once,

그리고 만약, 준비가 덜 되고, 한 번에 다 끝낼 시간이 없으시면

it will save what you've typed into your drafts

입력하신 초안을 저장해 둘 수 있어요.

so it automatically saves every time you add something.

즉 여러분이 무언가를 추가하실 때마다 자동으로 저장이 됩니다.

If you want, you can click credit my contribution,

원하시면 ''credit my contribution (크레딧에 나를 제공자로 추가)"을 클릭 하실 수 있습니다.

which I believe means that it will link back to you

그러면 제 생각에는 여러분께로 링크가 걸려서

so that people can know who contributed these awesome translations.

사람들이 이렇게 멋진 번역을 누가 기부했는지 알 수 있게되는 것 같아요

To keep track of your translations,

여러분 번역을 다시 확인하시려면,

you can click on the 'your contributions' tab here in the left bar menu

여러분이 여기 메뉴 바 왼쪽 "your contributions (내가 참여한 동영상)" 탭을 클릭하시면 됩니다.

and you can see videos that you have submitted

그려면 여러분이 완성하신 자막을 보냈던 영상과

that you're done with and then you can also see your drafts.

여러분이 작성하신 초안들을 확인하실 수 있어요.

So this is where you can come back and edit if you don't have time to finish all at once.

그러니까 여러분이 한 번에 작업을 끝낼 시간이 없다면 다시 돌아와서 수정하실 수 있는 곳이에요.
