On a typical day at school,

I used to puzzle about a lot of things as a boy.

Why do so may innocent people and animals suffer terrible things?

Is there really a plan for my life?

Naozaj existuje plán môjho života?

Is the future yet to be written,

Bude sa budúcnosť písať

or is it already written

alebo už je dávno napísaná

and we just can't see it? But then, do I have free will?

a my ju len nevidíme? No ale mám potom slobodnú vôľu?

Who am I, anyway? Am I just a biological machine?

A kto vlastne som? Som len biologický stroj?

But then, why am I conscious?

Ale prečo mám potom vedomie?

What is consciousness? Will robots become conscious one day?

Čo je to vedomie? Budú mať niekedy vedomie aj roboty?

I mean, I kind of assumed

Tak trochu som predpokladal,

that some day I would be told the answers to all these questions.

že sa niekedy dozviem odpovede na všetky tieto otázky.

I mean, someone must know, right?

Veď niekto ich musí vedieť, však?

Huh. Guess what? No one knows.

Hm. Viete čo? Nikto ich nevie.

Most of those questions puzzle me more now than ever.

Väčšina týchto otázok ma teraz mätie viac, ako inokedy.

But diving into them is exciting

because it takes you to the edge of knowledge,
