Now there are all kinds of paper towel dispensers.

There's the tri-fold. People typically take two or three.

There's the one that cuts it, that you have to tear off.

یه‌كێكیان هه‌یه‌ خۆی دە‌بڕێت، كه‌ پێویست ده‌كات بیدڕێنیت.

People go one, two, three, four, tear.

خە‌ڵكی به‌رده‌وام ڕایدەكێشن، یەک، دوو، سێ، چوار، زیاتر. ئەوەندەیە، ڕاستە؟

This much, right?

There's the one that cuts itself.

یه‌كێكیان خۆی ده‌بڕێت.

People go, one, two, three, four.

خه‌ڵكی به‌رده‌وام ده‌بن، دوو، سێ، چوار.

Or there's the same thing, but recycled paper,

یاخود هه‌مان جۆره‌ ده‌سته‌سڕ هه‌یه‌ به‌ڵام ده‌توانرێت به‌كاربهێنرێته‌وه‌.

you have to get five of those because they're not as absorbent, of course.

ده‌بێت تا پێنج دانه‌ی ڕابكێشیت چونكه‌ كه‌متر توانای مژینی هه‌یه‌.

The fact is, you can do it all with one towel.

ڕاستییه‌كه‌ی ئه‌وه‌یه‌ ده‌توانیت به‌ یه‌ك ده‌سته‌سڕ ئه‌مه‌ بكه‌یت.

The key, two words:

چاره‌سه‌ری ئه‌مه‌، دوو وشه‌یه‌:

ڕاوەشاندن. یه‌ك، دوو، سێ، چوار، پێنج، شه‌ش حه‌وت، هه‌شت، نۆ، ده‌، یانزه‌، دوانزه‌.

Why 12? Twelve apostles, twelve tribes,

بۆ ١٢جار؟ ١٢ نێردراو، ١٢ هۆز. ١٢ بورجه‌كان، ١٢ مانگ.

twelve zodiac signs, twelve months. The one I like the best:

ئه‌و ژماره‌یه‌ی زۆر حه‌زم لێییه‌تی گه‌وره‌ ترین ژماره‌ی یه‌ك بڕگه‌ییه‌.

It's the biggest number with one syllable.

(Laughter)

سێ هێنده‌. پێچانەوە...

Dry.

ووشک بووەوە.

JS: Cuts itself. Fold. The fold is important

ده‌دڕێت. بیپێچه‌وه‌. پێچانه‌وه‌ گرنگه‌

because it allows interstitial suspension.

چون ڕێگه‌ به‌ له‌كارخستنی نێوانی ده‌دات.

You don't have to remember that part, but trust me.

JS: Now, there's now a real fancy invention,

با نهێنییه‌كتان پێ بڵێم گه‌ر بتانه‌وێت زۆر خێرا بن و خێران،

If you're really quick, if you're really quick --

and I can prove this --

و ده‌توانم ئه‌مه‌ بسه‌لمێنم...

this is half a towel from the dispenser in this building.

ئه‌مه‌ نیو دانه‌یه‌ له‌ ده‌س تشۆری ئه‌م باڵەخانەیە.

How? As soon as it starts, you just tear it off.

چۆن؟ هه‌ركه‌ ده‌ست پێده‌كات یه‌كسه‌ر ده‌یدڕێنیت.

It's smart enough to stop.

And you get half a towel.
