What I wanted to talk to you about today is two things:

one, the rise of a culture of availability;

So we're seeing a rise of this availability

being driven by mobile device proliferation,

globally, across all social strata.

We're seeing, along with that proliferation of mobile devices,

an expectation of availability.

which is obligation -- and an obligation to that availability.

And the problem is, we're still working through,

from a societal standpoint,

how we allow people to be available.

There's a significant delta, in fact,

between what we're willing to accept.

So we've developed certain tactics and strategies

This first one's called "the lean."

and then quickly checking the device.

Although you can see the gentleman up on the right is busting him.

OK, the gentleman on the left is saying, "Screw you,

I'm going to check my device."

But the guy, here, on the right,

he's doing the stretch.

It's that reeeee-e-e-each out, the physical contortion

to get that device just below the tabletop.

စားပွဲအောက်မှာရှိတဲ့ သူ့ဖုန်းဆီရောက်အောင်ပေါ့။

Or, my favorite, the "Love you; mean it."

ဒါမှမဟုတ် ကျွန်တော်အကြိုက်ဆုံးက "ချစ်တယ်၊ တကယ်ပါ"တဲ့။

Nothing says "I love you"

"ချစ်တယ်"ဆိုတာက "ငါဂရုစိုက်ရမယ့်သူ နောက်တစ်ယောက်ရှာပါရစေ"

like "Let me find somebody else I give a damn about."

ဆိုပြီး ပြောတာမဟုတ်ပါဘူးနော်။

Or, this one, coming to us from India.

ဒါမှမဟုတ် ဒီတစ်ခုဗျာ။ ဒါက အိန္ဒိယက လာတာပါ။

That is actually the device.

What this is doing is, we find a --

ဒါက လုပ်နေတာက ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေ့တာက

(Laughter)

a direct collision --

တည့်တည့် တိုက်မိခြင်းပါ။

we find a direct collision between availability --

ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေ့တာက သုံးစွဲနိုင်မှုကြားက ကွဲလွဲမှုတစ်ခုပါ။

and what's possible through availability --

သုံးစွဲနိုင်မှုကနေ ဖြစ်နိုင်ခြေက အခြေခံကျတဲ့

and a fundamental human need -- which we've been hearing about a lot, actually --

လူသားရဲ့ လိုအပ်ချက်ပါ - ဒါကို ကျွန်တော်တို့ အများကြီး ကြားကြားနေတာပါ။

the need to create shared narratives.

တကယ်က မျှဝေထားတဲဇာတ်လမ်းတွေ ဖန်တီးဖို့လိုအပ်ချက်ပါ။

We're very good at creating personal narratives,

ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေဟာ ကိုယ်ပိုင်ဇာတ်လမ်းတွေ ထွင်တဲ့နေရာမှာ တော်ပါတယ်။

but it's the shared narratives that make us a culture.

ဒါပေမဲ့ မျှဝေလိုက်တဲ့ ဇာတ်လမ်းတွေကမှ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုတစ်ခု ဖန်တီးပေးတာပါ။

And when you're standing with someone,

and you're on your mobile device,

effectively what you're saying to them is,

တကယ်တမ်း သူတို့ကို ခင်ဗျားပြောလိုက်တာက

"You are not as important as, literally,

"ခင်ဗျားဟာ ရှင်းရှင်းပြောရရင်ဗျာ

almost anything that could come to me through this device."

ဖုန်းထဲကနေ ကျုပ်ဆီဝင်လာတဲ့ ဘာတစ်ခုလောက်မှကို အရေးမပါဘူးဗျ။"

Look around you.

ဘေးဘီကို ကြည့်လိုက်ပါဦး။

There might be somebody on one right now,

လောလောဆယ် ဘေးနားမှာ တစ်ယောက်ယောက်ရှိချင်ရှိနေမှာ၊

participating in multi-dimensional engagement.

ဘက်ပေါင်းစုံ အချိန်းအချက်တွေမှာ ပါနေရင်းနဲ့ပေါ့ဗျာ။

Our reality right now is less interesting

အခုကျွနိတော်တို့ရဲ့ တည်ရှိမှုက နောက်ပိုင်း ကျွန်တော်တို့

than the story we're going to tell about it later.

ပြောပြမယ့်ဟာလေက် အရေးမပါဘူးနော်။

This one I love.

ဒါတော့ ကျွန်တော်ကြိုက်တယ်။

This poor kid, clearly a prop --

ဒီသနားစရာ ချာတိတ် ဇတ်ဝင်ခန်းတစ်ခုဆိုတာ အရှင်းကြီးပါ။

don't get me wrong, a willing prop --

ကျွန်တော့ကို တလွဲမထင်နဲ့ဦး။ စိတ်ထက်သန်နေတဲ့ ဇတ်ဝင်ခန်းတစ်ခုပါ။၊

but the kiss that's being documented kind of looks like it sucks.

ဒါပေမဲ့ မှတ်တမ်းတင်ထားတဲ့ အနမ်းကတော့ စိတ်ပျက်စရာပုံမျိုးပါ။

This is the sound of one hand clapping.

ဒါကလက်တစ်ဖက်နဲ့ လက်ခုပ်တီးသံပါ။

So, as we lose the context of our identity,

ဒီတော့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ရဲ့ ကိုယ်ပိုင်လက္ခဏာ အကြောင်းအရာဟာ ပျောက်ကွယ်လာတော့

it becomes incredibly important

ဒါက မယုံနိူင်လောက်အောင်ကို အရေးတကြီးဖြစ်လာတာက

that what you share becomes the context of shared narrative,

ခင်ဗျားတို့ မျှဝေလိုက်တာက မျှဝေလိုက်တဲ့ ဇာတ်လမ်းရဲ့ အကြောင်းအရာဖြစ်လာတယ်၊

becomes the context in which we live.

ကျွန်တော်တို့နေထိုင်တဲ့နေရာမှာ အကြောင်းအရာဖြစ်လာတာပါ။

The stories that we tell -- what we push out --

ကျွှန်တော်တို့ပြောတဲ့ဇာတ်လမ်းတွေ ဒလဟောထုတ်လိုက်တာတွေဟာ

becomes who we are.

ကျွန်တော်တို့ဘယ်သူဆိုတာဖြစ်လာတယ်။

People aren't simply projecting identity,

လူတွေဟာ ကိုယ်ပိုင်လက္ခဏာကို အထင်ကြီးအောင်ပြသရုံမဟုတ်ပဲ

they're creating it.

ဒါကိုဖန်တီးနေကြပါတယ်။

And so that's the request I have for everybody in this room.

ဒီတော့ ဒါက ဒီအခန်းထဲမှာရှိတဲ့ လူတွေအတွက် ကျွန်တော့ရဲ့ ပန်ကြားချက်တစ်ခုပါ။

We are creating the technology

ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေဟာ မျှဝေထားတဲ့ အတွေ့အကြုံသစ်ကို

that is going to create the new shared experience,

ဖန်တီးဖို့ နည်းပညာကို ဖန်တီးနေတာပါ၊

which will create the new world.

ဒါကနေ လောကသစ်ကို ဖန်တီးပါလိမ့်မယ်။

And so my request is,

ဒီတော့ ကျွန်တော့ပန်ကြားချက်က

please, let's make technologies

ကျေးဇူးပြုပြီးတော့ဗျာ၊ နည်းပညာတွေနဲ့

that make people more human,

လူတွေကို လူသားပိုဆန်အောင် လုပ်ကြရအောင်လားဗျာ၊

and not less.

ယုတ်စွအားဖြင့် ပေါ့ဗျာ။
