So, a few years ago I was at JFK Airport

So that's who I am.

ကဲ ဒီတော့ အဲဒါက ကျွန်မပဲပေါ့။

And believe me, I'm extremely grateful to be that person,

because that whole "Eat, Pray, Love" thing

And it was devastating every single time,

and every single time, I had to ask myself

if I should just quit while I was behind

But then I would find my resolve,

by saying, "I'm not going to quit,

I'm going home."

And you have to understand that for me,

ပြီးတော့ ဒီမှာရှိတဲ့ သူတွေအားလုံး ကျွန်မပြောတာကို နားလည်ဖို့လိုပါတယ်။

going home did not mean returning to my family's farm.

အိမ်ပြန်ခြင်း ဆိုတာက ကျွန်မိသားစုရဲ့ စိုက်ပျိုးမွေးမြူရေးခြံကို ပြန်ခြင်းကို ဆိုလိုခဲ့တာ မဟုတ်ပါဘူး။

For me, going home

meant returning to the work of writing

because writing was my home,

And that's how I pushed through it.

But the weird thing is that 20 years later,

into the equally blinding glare

And one of these fates

ကူညီထောက်မမှု တွေလည်း ဖြစ်ချင်ဖြစ်မယ်၊ ခွေးပုလေးတွေ မွေးမြူတာလည်း ဖြစ်ချင်ဖြစ်မှာပေါ့နော်

I don't know, your home is that thing

ကျွန်မ ဘယ်သိပါ့မလဲ။

to which you can dedicate your energies

သင့်ရဲ့ ဌာနေရင်းဆိုတာက သင့်ရဲ့ ကာယ၊ ဉာဏ စွမ်းအင်တွေကို

with such singular devotion

အဆုံးသတ် ရလဒ်ဆိုတာတွေဟာ အရေးမပါသလောက် ဖြစ်လာတဲ့အထိ

that the ultimate results become inconsequential.

တစ်ခုတည်းသော ယုံကြည်မှုနဲ့ နှစ်မြှပ်ထားနိူင်တဲ့အရာပါ။

For me, that home has always been writing.

ကျွန်မအတွက်ကတော့ ဌာနေရင်းဆိုတာဟာ စာရေးသားခြင်းဆိုတာ ထာဝရဖြစ်နေပါပြီ။

So after the weird, disorienting success

ဒါကြောင့် "Eat, Pray, Love" နဲ့ ဖြတ်သန်းခဲ့တဲ့

that I went through with "Eat, Pray, Love,"

ခပ်ကြောင်ကြောင် စိတ်ရှုပ်ထွေးစရာ အောင်မြင်မှုပြီးတဲ့ နောက်မှာ

I realized that all I had to do was exactly

ကျွန်မနားလည် သဘောပေါက်ခဲ့တာကတော့

the same thing that I used to have to do all the time

ကျွန်မ အလားတူ စိတ်ရှုပ်ထွေးစရာ ကျရှုံးခဲ့တုန်းက လုပ်နေကျဖြစ်ခဲ့ဖူးတဲ့ အရာအတိုင်း

when I was an equally disoriented failure.

တစ်ထေရာတည်းတူတဲ့ အရာကိုပဲ လုပ်ဖို့လိုခဲ့တယ်ဆိုတာပါ။

I had to get my ass back to work,

ကျွန်မအလုပ်ကို ကျွန်မပြန်လုပ်ရတော့မှာပေါ့။

and that's what I did, and that's how, in 2010,

ဒါဟာ ကျွန်မလုပ်ခဲ့တာပေါ့။ အဖြစ်က ဒီလိုပါ။ ၂၀၁၀ ခုနှစ်မှာတော့

I was able to publish the dreaded follow-up

"Eat, Pray, Love" ရဲ့ထိတ်လန့်စရာ

to "Eat, Pray, Love."

နောက်ဆက်တွဲကို ပုံနှိပ်ထုတ်ဝေနိူင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

And you know what happened with that book?

အဲဒီစာအုပ်နဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့တာတွေကိုတော့ သိကြတယ်မဟုတ်လားရှင်။

It bombed, and I was fine.

မအောင်မြင်ဘူးလေ။ ဒါပေမယ့် ကျွန်မ အဆင်ပြေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Actually, I kind of felt bulletproof,

တကယ်တမ်းတော့ ကျွန်မ အရေခွံထူနေသလိုမျိုး ခံစားလိုက်ရတယ်။

because I knew that I had broken the spell

ဘာဖြစ်လို့လဲဆိုတော့ ကျွန်မဟာ ကျိန်စာကို ချိုးဖြတ်ပြီး ၊

and I had found my way back home

စာရေးသားခြင်းအလုပ် အပေါ်မှာ စိတ်ကို လုံးဝနှစ်မြှုပ်ထားခြင်းနဲ့

to writing for the sheer devotion of it.

ဌာနေရင်းကိုပြန်တဲ့ လမ်းကိုတွေ့ခဲ့ပြီ ဆိုတာ ကျွန်မ သိနေလို့ပါ။

And I stayed in my home of writing after that,

အဲဒီနောက်မှာတော့ စာရေးခြင်းဆိုတဲ့ကျွန်မရဲ့ ဌာနေရင်းမှာပဲ အောင်းနေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

and I wrote another book that just came out last year

ကျွန်မ နောက်ထပ် စာအုပ်တစ်အုပ် ရေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အဲဒါက မနှစ်ကထွက်ရှိခဲ့ပြီး၊

and that one was really beautifully received,

တကယ့်ကို ကျေနပ်စရာ ကောင်းလောက်အောင် လက်ခံအားပေးခြင်း ခံခဲ့ရပါတယ်။

which is very nice, but not my point.

ဒါဟာ အရမ်းကို ကြည်နူးစရာ ကောင်းပါတယ်၊ ဒါပေမယ့် ကျွန်မရဲ့ပြောချင်တဲ့ လိုရင်းတော့ မဟုတ်ဘူးနော်။

My point is that I'm writing another one now,

ကျွန်မရဲ့ လိုရင်းက ကျွန်မအခု နောက်ထပ်တစ်အုပ် ထပ်ရေးနေပါတယ်။

and I'll write another book after that

ဒါပြီးရင်လည်း နောက်တစ်အုပ် ရေးဦးမှာပါ။

and another and another and another

ပြီးတော့ နောက်ထပ်၊ နောက်ထပ်၊ နောက်ထပ်ပေါ့။

and many of them will fail,

အများစုကတော့ ကျရှုံးမှာပါ။

and some of them might succeed,

တစ်ချို့တော့ အောင်မြင်ကောင်း အောင်မြင်နိူင်ပါတယ်။

but I will always be safe

ဒါပေမယ့် ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ သင့်တင့်လျောက်ပတ်စွာ နေထိုင်နေတဲ့

from the random hurricanes of outcome

အရပ်ကို ဘယ်တော့မှ မမေ့နေသရွေ့တော့ အကျိုးရလဒ်ရဲ့

as long as I never forget where I rightfully live.

ကြုံသလို တိုက်ခတ်လာမယ့် မုန်တိုင်းတွေရန်ကနေ အမြဲတမ်း လုံခြုံနေပါလိမ့်မယ်။

Look, I don't know where you rightfully live,

ကြည့်ပါဦး။ ရှင်တို့အနေနဲ့ ဘယ်အရပ်မှာ သင့်တင့်လျောက်ပတ်စွာ နေနေမှန်း ကျွန်မမသိပါဘူး။

but I know that there's something in this world

ကျွန်မသိတာကတော့ ဒီလောကထဲမှာ

that you love more than you love yourself.

သင့်ကိုယ်သင် ချစ်တာထက်ပိုပြီး ချစ်တဲ့ တစ်စုံတစ်ရာ ရှိနေတယ်ဆိုတာပါပဲ။

Something worthy, by the way,

ထိုက်တန်တာ တစ်ခုခုပေါ့၊ ဒါထက် စကားမစပ်

so addiction and infatuation don't count,

စွဲလမ်းတာတို့ အရူးအမူးဖြစ်တာတို့ကတော့ အရေးမပါပါဘူး။

because we all know that those are not safe places to live. Right?

ဘာဖြစ်လို့လဲဆိုတော့ ဒါတွေဟာ မှီတင်းနေထိုင်ဖို့ မလုံခြုံဘူးဆိုတာ ကျွန်မတို့ အားလုံးသိပါတယ်။ ဟုတ်တယ်နော်။

The only trick is that you've got to identify

တစ်ခုတည်းသော ပရိယာယ်ကတော့ သင်အနှစ်သက်ဆုံးထဲက

the best, worthiest thing that you love most,

အကောင်းဆုံး၊ အထိုက်တန်ဆုံးအရာကို ရွေးထုတ်ဖို့တော့ လိုတာပေါ့။

and then build your house right on top of it

အဲဒီနောက်မှာတော့ ၎င်းအပေါ်မှာ သင့်ရဲ့ဘုံဗိမာန်ကို တည်ဆောက်လိုက်ပြီး

and don't budge from it.

ဒါကနေ မရွှေ့လိုက်ပါနဲ့တော့

And if you should someday, somehow

နောက်ပြီး အကယ်၍ တစ်နေ့နေ့မှာ၊ တစ်နည်းနည်းနဲ့

get vaulted out of your home

ကျရှုံးမှုကြောင့်ပဲဖြစ်ဖြစ် အောင်မြင်မှုကြောင့်ပဲဖြစ်ဖြစ်

by either great failure or great success,

သင့်ဘုံဗိမာန်ကနေ တွန်းပင့်ခြင်း ခံလိုက်ရရင်

then your job is to fight your way back to that home

သင်လုပ်ရမှာက အဲဒီအိမ်ကို ပြန်ဖို့ လမ်းကြောင်းဆီကို ရောက်ဖို့ ခုခံတွန်းလှန်ဖို့ပါ။

the only way that it has ever been done,

ဒါဟာ လုပ်ဖူးပြီးသား တစ်ခုတည်းသော နည်းလမ်း တစ်ခုပဲလေ။

by putting your head down and performing

သင့်ရဲ့ဦးခေါင်းကိုငုံ့ရင်း၊ ခုံမင်နှစ်သက်ခြင်းက သင့်ကိုလှုံ့ဆော်နေတဲ့

with diligence and devotion

နောက်ထပ် ဘယ်ဆောင်ရွက်ချက်မဆို

and respect and reverence

လုံလဝီရိယ၊ စိတ်အားထက်သန်မှု၊ လေးစားမှုနဲ့

whatever the task is that love

နောက်ပြီး ကြည်ညိုမှုနဲ့

is calling forth from you next.

လုပ်ကိုင် ဆောင်ရွက်ရင်းနဲ့ပေါ့။

You just do that, and keep doing that

သင် ဒါကိုပဲ လုပ်လိုက်ပါ။

again and again and again,

အထပ်ထပ်သာ ဆက်လုပ်နေလိုက်ပါ။

and I can absolutely promise you, from long personal experience

ဦးတည်ရာ အရပ်ရပ်က ရှည်ကြာလှပြီဖြစ်တဲ့ အတွေ့အကြုံကနေပြီးတော့

in every direction, I can assure you

ကျွန်မ သင့်ကို ရဲရဲကြီး ကတိပေးပါတယ်။ အားလုံးပဲ အဆင်ပြေသွားတော့မယ် ဆိုတာကို

that it's all going to be okay.
