ئەمە یەکەم گەشتمە،

یەکەم جارە لە ژیانم لەدەرەوەی دیوارەکانی غەزەم.

Hello.

خۆم زۆر بەخۆشحاڵ دەزانم کە لێرەم.

This is my first trip,

(چەپڵەڕێزان)

first time in life I'm outside of the walls of Gaza.

I'm so happy to be here.

هەمیشە ئاواتم ئە وە بوو ببم، بە فڕۆکەوان، گەشت بکەم

(Applause)

بەئازادی بۆ ئاسمان بفڕم و دەست لە ئاسمان بدەم.

My ambition always was to be a pilot, to fly a plane,

بەڵام ئەوە ڕووینەدا.

لە غەزە دەژەیم هیچ فڕۆکەخانەیەکی لێنییە.

to feel free to fly the sky, to touch the sky.

سنوورەکان لە هەموو لایەکەوە داخراون

But that didn't happen.

Simply, I live in Gaza, there is no airport.

لە گەورەترین بەندیخانەی ئەم جیهانە دەژەین.

تەنها شت کە بتوانم بیکەم سەیرکردنی ئاسمانە.

All borders are closed on every side.

We live in one of the biggest prisons in the world.

هەندێ ڕۆژ، شانسمان هەیە ئەگەر

The only thing I can do is just to look up to the sky.

کارەبا ٤ بۆ٥ کاتژمێرهەبێ.

کاتێک ساردە، لەبەردەم یان لەسەر ماڵەکانمان ئاگردەکەینەوە.

On some days, we are lucky if we have electricity

for four or five hours.

هەندێجاریش خواردن دروست دەکەین.

When it's cold, we make a fire on the front or on the roof of our homes.

ئیشی من لە غەزە بریتییە لە ئامادەکاری بۆ ئەو ڕۆژنامەنووسانەی کە دێنە نیشتیمانەکەم

و گەیاندنی ئەو چیرۆکانەی لە غەزە ڕوودەدەن.

Sometimes we make food, too.

My job in Gaza is to arrange everything for journalists who come to my homeland

زۆربەی بەیانیان، دەبوو بچمە سەر سنوور

بۆ ئەوەی ڕۆژنامەنووسێک بهێنم.

to tell the stories about what's going on in Gaza.

ئەگەر شتێک بەسەر ئەو ڕۆژنامەنووسایە بهاتایە،

یا ڕۆژنامەنووسەکە ڕووداوێک ڕووماڵ بکا

Many mornings, I had to go to the border area

کە حکومەت نەیدەیویست ڕووماڵی بکەین،

to collect a journalist.

If anything should happen to the journalist,

لەوانەیە شتیێکی خراپ ڕوویبدایە.

or if the journalist decides to cover a story

،ئیشی من ڕێنیاشاندان و یارمەتدانی ڕۆژنامەنووسەکان

the government doesn't want us to cover,

فلیمدەرهێنەرەکان و دەستەی هەواڵگریەکان بوو کە دەهاتن بۆ لووڵاتەکەم.

bad things could happen.

Navigating through my country helping journalists,

باوەڕم وایە سەرکەوتنم لەڕێگەی درووستکردنی پەیوەندیەوە دەبێت

filmmakers, news crews, is my working life.

،نەک تەنها لەگەڵ ڕۆژنامەنووسەکان و دەستەی هەواڵگری

I believe my success comes from building a relationship

بەڵکو لەگەڵ کۆمەڵگاکانی کەرتی غەزەش.

ئەو خەڵکانەی کە نایانەوێ چیرۆکەکانیان بڵاوببێتەوە.

not only with journalists and the news crews,

but also with the communities in the Gaza Strip.

هەرگیز وەکو چیرۆکەکان یا ژمارەکان سەیریان ناکەم.

These communities who don't want their stories to be told,

بەڵکو وەکو منن، ئەوانیش مرۆڤن.

I never looked to them as stories or numbers.

لەماوەی ئەو ١٠ ساڵە پەیوەندیەکی زۆرم دروستکردووە.

But like me, they are human beings.

دەزانن چی؟

.ئەمە ئەو شانسەی داپێم بگەم بەو خەڵک و ڕووداوانە

I have built up many relationships over 10 years.

کە ئەوانی تر نەیان توانی.

،لە زۆربەی بارودۆخەکاندا، هەستم دەکرد وەکو ئافرەتێک، زۆر بەهێزم.

And guess what?

This gives me the chance to get access to people,

to stories that others can't.

زۆربەی ڕۆژنامەنووسە پیاوەکانی کۆمەڵگاکەم،

In some certain situations, I feel, as a woman, I have more power.

دەیانویست چیرۆکێک لەسەر ئاڵودەبوون بە ماددە هۆشبەرەکان لە وڵاتەکەم ڕوماڵ بکەم.

کێشەکە لەوەوە دەستی پێکرد کاتێک تونێلەکەی غەزە دروستکرا.

Many male journalists in my society,

they want to cover a story about drug addiction in my country.

سەرەڕای ئەو ئابلوقەیەی سەر غەزە،

That problem started when the Gaza tunnel was being built.

لەڕێگەی تونێلەکانەوە پێداویستیە سەرەتایەکانی خەڵک وەکو، خواردن

کەرەستەکانی بیناکاریی و شتەکانی تر دەهێنران کە پێویسمان بوو.

With the siege on Gaza,

بەڵام چیتر نەهات، چونکە میسریەکان تونێلەکانیانیان پڕئاو کرد

tunnels brought people all the basic needs

like food, building material, other stuff we needed.

و چیتر سوودیان نەماوە.

ماددە هۆشبەرەکان لە ڕێگەی قاچاغەوە دەهێنران،

But not anymore, because the Egyptian side flooded them up with water

و گەنجێکی زۆریش ئاڵودەی بوون.

and they are not working anymore.

لە کەلتووری گەلی فەلەستیندا،

Drugs were being smuggled,

قەدەغەیە پیاوان بچنە ناو خێزانەکان.

and many young people got addicted, too.

بۆیە، هیچ ڕۆژنامەنووسێکی پیاو چیرۆکەکەی دەست نەدەکەوت.

In the tradition of the Palestinian society,

بەڵام من دەستم کەوت.

it's forbidden for men to enter the household.

هاوسەرێکی باشم هەیە،

So, no male journalists get the story.

هاوسەرە باشەکەم پشتگیریم دەکات

But I did.

سەرەڕای هەموو ئەو ڕەخنانەی لەلایەن کۆمەڵگاوە ئاراستەی دەکەن.

I have a wonderful husband,

لەگەڵ دوو مناڵەکەم لە ماڵەوەن،

a wonderful husband who supports me

لێرەدا مناڵێکی تریش هەیە لەزگمدایە.

despite all the criticism he gets from the society.

[چەپڵەڕێزان]

He's at home now with my two kids,

and I have another one that's growing in here.

کاتێک لە ئیشم، هەموو دوو کاتژمێر جارێک پەیوەندی بە هاوسەرەکەم دەکەم،

(Applause)

ئەگەر تەلەفۆنی بۆ نەکەم،

پەیوەندی بە ڕێکخەرەکەمەوە دەکات،

When I'm working, I call him every two hours,

تەنها کەسە کە بەچیرۆکەکانم دەگەینێ،

and he knows if he doesn't hear from me,

تەنها کەسیشە متمانەم پێیەتی.

he should call my contact,

جارێکیان،

the one who gives me access to the story,

لە کاتی ڕفاندنی ڕۆژنامەنووسە بەریتانیەکە ئەلن جۆنستن،

which is the one who I trust.

لەلایەن ڕۆژنامەیەکی ئەمریکیەوە داوام لێکرابوو

One of the times in Gaza,

during the kidnapping of the British journalist Alan Johnston,

چاوپێکەوتنێک لەگەڵ فڕێندراوەکان لە غەزە بکەم، ئەنجاممدا.

I was asked by an American magazine

ڕۆژنامەنووسەکە چیرۆکەکەی ڕووماڵکرد و

to set up a meeting with the kidnappers in Gaza, and I did.

داوام لێکرابوو لەدەرەوەی ئوتێلەکەی چاوم پێبکەوێت.

بە ئۆتۆمۆبێلێکی ڕەشی جام ڕەش هەڵیانگرتین،

The journalist covering the story and I

were asked to meet outside of his hotel.

ئەو ڕۆژە ماسکیان پۆشیبوو.

They came, they picked us up in a black van with black windows,

بۆ شوێنێکی دووریان بردین، لەناوەڕاستی گۆڕەپانەکە دوورکەوتینەوە.

they were wearing masks on that day.

مۆبایلەکانیان لێ سەندین

And they drove us away, far away in the middle of a field.

و لەدەرەوەی کێڵگەکە چاوپێکەوتنەکەمان لەگەڵ فڕێندراوەکە کرد.

They took our cell phones

ئەو ڕۆژە زۆر ترسام،

and we did the interview with the kidnapper outside in that field.

ڕۆژێکە هەرگیز لەبیرم ناچێت.

بۆ ئەوە دەکەم کە دەیکەم؟

I was so scared that day,

ئەوە دەکەم چونکە باوڕم وایە ئەگەر نەیکەم،

a day I will never forget.

بەشێکی گەورەی چیرۆکە لە غەزە وندەبێت.

So, why do I do what I do?

I do it because I believe if I didn't,

چیرۆک زۆرە لەسەر وڵاتەکەم پێتان بڵیم.

a huge part of the story about Gaza will be missing.

و هەموو چیرۆکەکان خراپ نین.

وڵاتەکەم خۆش دەوێت، سەرەڕەی ئەو باروودۆخە ناخۆش،

There are some more stories I could tell you about my country.

ئابلوقە، هەژاری و بێکاریەی تێیدە دەژین

And not all of them are bad.

I love my country, despite the terrible situation we live in --

بەڵام ژیان هەیە.

خەڵکانێک هەن خەونیانیان هەیە و خەڵک ناوەزە و پڕ وزەن.

siege, poverty, unemployment --

but there is life.

مۆزیقایەکی خۆش و قوتابخانەیەکی مۆزیقی ناوازەمان هەیە.

There are people who are dreamers and amazing people full of energy.

ئێمە سەماکەرمان هەیە کە لەسەر لێواری تالەبەردەکانی ماڵەکانیان سەمادەکەن.

We have wonderful music, and a great music school.

غەزە تەنها شوێنە لە نیشتیمانی عەرەبی

We have parkour dancers who dance in the rubble of their homes.

کە موسڵمانەکان و مەسیحیەکان بە تەبایی پێکەوە دەژین.

And Gaza is the only place in the Arab world

[چەپڵەڕێزان]

where Muslims and Christians live in strong brotherhood.

لەکاتی جەنگدا،

قورسترین شت بۆ من بەجێهێشتنی ماڵەکەم بوو بەو بەیانییە زووە،

(Applause)

بەجێهێشتنی مناڵەکانم بوو.

هەموو ڕۆژێک وێنەیانم دەگرت

During the time of war,

the hardest part for me is leaving the house early in the morning,

چونکە نەمدەزانی جارێکی تر دەچمەوە بۆلایان.

leaving my children.

I take a picture of them everyday

بوون بەڕێکخەر و ڕۆژنامەنووس قورس و مەترسیدارە لە غەزە.

because I never know if I will make it back to them.

بەڵام کاتێک گوێم لەدەنگی هاوار یان دەنگی بۆردومانەکان دەبوو،

Being a fixer and a journalist is difficult and dangerous in Gaza.

ڕاستەوخۆ بەرەو ئەو شوێنە دەچوم،

چونکە دەمویست یەکەم کەس لەوێبم،

But when I hear the sound of the shelling or the sound of the bombing,

چونکە ئەو چیرۆکانە دەبوو بگێڕدرێنەوە.

I just head straight toward it,

because I want to be there first,

کاتێک مناڵەکانم بچووک بوون و دەنگی جەنگەمان دەبیست،

because these stories should be told.

پێیانم دەگوت یاری ئاگرینە.

When my children were small and we heard the sound of the war,

ئێستا گەورەبوونە، تێدەگەن.

مۆتەکەیەکی خراپم هەیە

I used to tell them that they were fireworks.

بەهۆی هەموو ئەو ڕووداوانەی لە کاتی جەنگدا ڕوویدا،

Now they are older, they understand.

بەتایبەتی کەوتنی لاشەی مناڵەکان.

I do have terrible nightmares

because of all that I witnessed during war times,

هێشتا لەبیرمە کچێکی بچووک، ناوی حەلا بوو.

especially these lifeless bodies of young children.

تەنها کەسی خێزانەکەی بوو لە ڕزگاری بوو.

وێنەکەی بۆ هەمیشە لە پێش چاوم دەمێنێتەوە.

I still remember a little girl, her name is Hala.

هەرگیز لەبیری ناکەم،

She's the only survivor from her family.

Her picture will be with me forever.

شانازی دەکەم کە ئەمڕۆ لە بەرامبەرتان وەستاوم و لەگەڵتا ن بووم لێرە.

I will never forget her.

شانازی دەکەم کە توانیم چیرۆکەکانتان بۆ بگێڕمەوە، چیرۆکە خۆش و ناخۆشانەکان،

I'm proud that I can stand here and be here today with you.

سوجێکی ئەم جیهانە کە غەزەیە.

I'm proud that I can tell you stories, sad and happy,

شانازی دەکەم کە یەکەم ئافەرەت بووم ئیشی ڕێکخەریم لە غەزە دەکرد.

stories about my small corner of the world, Gaza.

و شتێکی خۆش بانگیان دەکردم مستەر ڕامبۆکەی غەزە.

I'm proud that I am the first female fixer working in Gaza.

هیوادارم ڕۆژێک، هەلێکم بۆ بڕەخسێ چیرۆکەکان بۆ هەموو ئافرەتانی تر و

And the funny thing is they call me Mr. Rambo in Gaza.

(Laughter)

ئافرەتانی وڵاتەکەم بگێڕمەوە،

I hope one day, I will get the chance to tell the stories of all other women,

هیوادارم ڕۆژێک بتوانم یارمەتی ئافرەتانی تر بدەم بۆ ئەوەی

وەک من ببنە ڕێکخەر لە وڵاتەکەم.

all other amazing women I know in my country.

بێ گومان هەندێک جار، هەست دەکەم ناتوانم ئەم کارەبکەم،

I hope that one day I can help other women in my country

ئەمە زۆر قورسە بۆ من.

to be fixers like me.

بەڵام ئەو وشانەم بەبیردێتەوە:

And of course sometimes, I feel I can't do this work anymore,

،سنوور بۆ بەرەنگاربوونەوەکانت دامەنێ " بەڵکو بەرەنگاری سنورەکان بەوە.

it's just too much for me.

ڕێگە بە هیچ کەس مەدە لەبەردەم "خەونەکانت بەوەستن.

But I remember these words:

"Don't limit your challenge, but challenge your limit.

سوپاستان دەکەم.

Don't allow others to stand in front of your dreams."
