We've been stuck in an endless debate

ကျွန်တော်တို့ဟာ ကားဗဟိုပြု လူ့အဖွဲ့အစည်း

between creating a car-centric society or extensive mass-transit systems.

ဒါမှမဟုတ် အများသုံး ပို့ဆောင်ရေး စနစ် အကြား ရွေးမရ ငြင်းခုံနေကြပါတယ်။

I think we should transcend this.

ကျွန်တော်တို့ ဒါကို ကျော်ရမယ်။

I think we can create vehicles that combine the convenience of cars

ကားတွေရဲ့ အဆင်ပြေမှု နှင့် ရထား နဲ့ ဘတ်စ် တွေရဲ့ ထိရောက်မှုကို ပေါင်းစပ်ပေးမယ့်

and the efficiencies of trains and buses.

ယာဉ်မျိုးကို ကျွန်တော်တို့ တီထွင်နိုင်မယ်ထင်တယ်။

Just imagine.

စိတ်ကူးကြည့်ကြပါ။

You're comfortably sitting in a fast and smooth urban train,

ခင်ဗျားဟာ မြန်ဆန် ချောမွေ့တဲ့ မြို့ပြ ရထားကို စီးလာနေတယ်၊

along with 1,200 passengers.

ခရီးသည် ၁၂၀၀ တို့နဲ့ အတူပါ။

The problem with urban trains

မြို့ပြရထားတွေရဲ့ ပြဿနာက

is that sometimes you have to stop five, ten, fifteen times

မကြာခဏဆိုသလို ကိုယ်သွားမယ့် နေရာကို မရောက်ခင် ၅၊ ၁၀၊ ၁၅ မှတ်တိုင်

before your final destination.

သွားဖို့ လိုအပ်ခြင်းပါပဲ။

What if in this train you didn't have to stop?

လုံးဝ ရပ်နားခြင်း မရှိဘဲ ရထား စီးသွားနိုင်မယ် ဆိုရင်ကော။

In this train,

အဲဒီလို ရထားထဲမှာ တွဲတွေဟာ

wagons can detach dynamically while you're moving

မောင်းနေစဉ်မှာကို ပြုတ်ထွက်သွားကာ ဘေးလမ်းအတိုင်း

and become express, driverless buses

ရွေ့ရှားသွားတဲ့ ယာဉ်မောင်းမဲ့

that move on a secondary road network.

ဘတ်စ်ကား အဖြစ် ပြောင်းသွားမယ်။

And so without a single stop,

အဲဒါကြောင့်မို့လို့ တစ်နေရာမှာမှ ရပ်ရန်

nor a lengthy transfer,

မလိုဘဲ အချိန်ကြာစွာ ကူးရန်မလိုဘဲ၊

you are now sitting in a bus that is headed toward your suburb.

ခင်ဗျား စီးနေတတဲ့ ဘတ်စ်ကားဟာ ခင်ဗျားနေရာ ဆင်ခြေဖုံးကို သွားနေပြီ။

And when you get close,

အနီးကို ရောက်တာနဲ့

the section you're sitting in detaches

ခင်ဗျား ထိုင်နေတဲ့ အကန့်ဟာ ပြုတ်ထွက်လျက်

and self-drives you right to your doorstep.

ခင်ဗျားရဲ့ တံခါးဝဆီကို မောင်းပို့ပေးမယ်။

It is collective and individual at the same time.

အဲဒါ အားလုံးအတွက် ဖြစ်သလို တစ်ဦးချင်း အတွက်လည်း ဖြစ်တယ်။

This could be one of the shared, modular, driverless vehicles of tomorrow.

အဲဒါဟာမျှသုံးနိုင်မယ့် မော်ဂျူးလာ ယာဉ်မောင်းမဲ့ အနာဂတ် ယာဉ်ပါပဲ။

Now ...

ဆက်ပြီး...

as if walking in a city buzzing with drones,

ဒရွန်းတွေ၊ ပျံသန်းနေကြတဲ့ တက္ကစီတွေ၊

flying taxis, modular buses and suspended magnetic pods

မော်ဂျူးလား ဘတ်စ်တွေ နဲ့ အမိုးချိတ် သံလိုက် မှတ်တိုင်တွေဟာ

was not exotic enough,

သိပ် အံ့ဩစရာ မဟုတ်သေးပါက၊

I think there is another force in action

မြို့ပြ ယာဉ်တွေကို ညှို့ယူဖမ်းစားမယ့်

that will make urban traffic mesmerizing.

နောက် လုပ်နိုင်စွမ်း တစ်ခု ရှိပါသေးတယ်။

If you think about it,

စဉ်းစားကြည့်မယ်ဆိုရင်၊

the current generation of driverless cars is just trying to earn its way

လက်ရှိ ယာဉ်မောင်းမဲ့ ကားတွေဟာ လူတွေက လူတွေအတွက် တီထွင်ခဲ့ကြတဲ့

into a traffic grid made by and for humans.

They're trying to learn traffic rules, which is relatively simple,

But what would happen when whole cities become driverless?

Would we need traffic lights?

အချက်ပြမီးတွေ လိုဦးမလား။

Would we need lanes?

ယာဉ်ကျောတွေ လိုဦးမလား။

How about speed limits?

မိုင်နှုန်း ကန့်သတ်ချက်ကော။

Red blood cells are not flowing in lanes.

သွေးနီဆဲလ်တွေဟာ စီးဝင်နေကြတာ ယဉ်ကျော မရှိပါ။

They never stop at red lights.

၎င်းတို့ဟာ ရပ်ပေးရတဲ့ အချက်ပြမီး မရှိပါ။

In the first driverless cities,

ယာဉ်မောင်းမဲ့ ပထမဦးဆုံး မြို့တွင်၊

you would have no red lights and no lanes.

မီးနီလည်း မရှိ၊ ယာဉ်ကျော်တွေ ရှိမှာ မဟုတ်ပါ။

And when all the cars are driverless and connected,

ပြီးတော့ ယာဉ်မောင်းမဲ့ ကားတွေ အားလုံးကို ချိတ်ဆက်ပေးထားမယ်ဆိုရင်၊

everything is predictable and reaction time, minimum.

အားလုံးကို ခန့်မှန်းလို့ ရနိုင်ကာ တုံ့ပြန်ရန် အချိန် အနည်းဆုံး လိုပါမယ်။

They can drive much faster

သူတို့ဟာ ပိုပြီးမြန်ဆန်စွာ မောင်းနိုင်ကာ

and can take any rational initiative that can speed them up

or the cars around them.

So instead of rigid traffic rules,

flow will be regulated

တချိန်လုံး ပြောင်းလဲနေကြတဲ့

by a mesh of dynamic and constantly self-improving algorithms.

မိမိဘာသာ မြှင့်တင်ရေး အယ်လဂိုရီသမ် နှင့်အညီ ညှိသွားမှာပါ။

The result: a strange traffic

ရလဒ်က ဂျာမန် ကားလမ်းမကြီးတွေရဲ့ ချောမွေ့ မြန်ဆန်မှုကို

that mixes the fast and smooth rigor of German autobahns

Mumbai ရဲ့ တီထွင်ဉာဏ်ပါတဲ့ လမ်းဆုံတွေရဲ့ လုပ်နိုင်စွမ်း

and the creative vitality of the intersections of Mumbai.

ပေါင်းစပ်မှုကြီး ဖြစ်လာမှာပါ။

Traffic will be functionally exuberant.

And by a strange paradox,

the more robotized our traffic grid will be,

the more organic and alive its movement will feel.

So yes,

ဟုတ်ပါတယ်၊

biology has all the attributes of a transportation genius today.

ဇီဝဗေဒဆီမှာ ဒီနေ့ရဲ့ ပို့ဆောင်ရေးထဲမှာ ပါရမီရှင် ဖြစ်ရန် အချက်တွေ လုံလောက်တယ်။

But this process has taken billions of years,

ဒါပေမဲ့ အဲဒီလို ဖြစ်စဉ်ကို နှစ်ပေါင်း ဘီလီယံချီ အချိန်ယူကာ

and went through all sorts of iterations and mutations.

အမှားအယွင်များကို ထပ်တလဲ စမ်းသပ် လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ရပါတယ်။

We can't wait billions of years to evolve our transportation system.

ပို့ဆောင်ရေး စနစ်ကို မြှင့်တင်ရန် ဘီလီယံနှစ်ချီ စောင့်မရနိုင်ပါ။

We now have the dreams,

3-D ပို့ဆောင်ရေး ကွန်ရက်တွေဖန်တီးဖို့၊

the concepts

မြို့တွေထဲက ယာဉ်တွေ စီးဆင်းမှုကို

and the technology

ပြောင်းလဲပစ်ဖို့၊ ယာဉ်အသစ်တွေကို ဖန်တီးဖို့

to create 3-D transportation networks,

လိုအပ်တဲ့ စိတ်ကူးတွေ၊ အယူအဆတွေ၊

invent new vehicles

ကျွန်တော်တို့ထံတွင်

ဒီနေ့ အားလုံး ရှိနေပြီ။

and change the flow in our cities.

အဲဒါကို လုပ်ကိုင်ကြပါစို့။
