لە پاکستانەوە سڵاو لە هەمووتان.

زۆرجار وتراوە لەو شتە دەترسین کا نایزانین.

و پاکستان، لەم ڕووە تایبەتەدا، زۆر لێک دەچن.

Namaste. Salaam.

Shalom. Sat Sri Akal.

چونکە ئەمە وروژاندویەتی، و دەیوروژێنێت،

Greetings to all of you from Pakistan.

دڵەڕاوکێیەکی زۆر لە بەشی زۆرێک لە ڕوحیەتی ڕژئاوادا،

It is often said that we fear that which we do not know.

And Pakistan, in this particular vein, is very similar.

بەتایبەت کاتێک لە ڕێگەی ئاوێنەیەکی تاکی

بێ سەرەبەرەوە سەیری دەکەیت.

Because it has provoked, and does provoke,

بەڵام زۆر ڕەهبی تریش هەیە بۆ پاکستان.

a visceral anxiety in the bellies of many a Western soul,

و ئەوەی دەیبینین کۆمەڵێک وێنەیە،

کە لەلایەن هەندێک پاکستانیەوە گیراون

especially when viewed through the monochromatic lens

لەلایەن وێنەگرە دینامیکی و گەنجەکانەوە ،

کە ئامانجیان ئەوەیە وردەکاریی باشتان پێبدەن،

of turbulence and turmoil.

But there are many other dimensions to Pakistan.

بە تێڕوانیبێک لە ناو مێشک و دڵی

And what follows is a stream of images,

هەندێک لە خەڵکی ئاسایی هیندستان.

a series of images captured by some of Pakistan's

most dynamic and young photographers,

that aims to give you an alternative glimpse,

هیوادارم ببینن

a look inside the hearts and minds

نەک تەنها سمێڵم وەک نیشانەیەکی تاڵیبانی،

of some ordinary Pakistani citizens.

Here are some of the stories they wanted us to share with you.

ڕنگی تێڕوانینەکانم، ئاواتەکانم، خەونەکانم،

My name is Abdul Khan. I come from Peshawar.

وەک ئەو جانتا دەوڵەمەند و ڕەنگاوڕەنگەی کە دەیفرۆشم.

I hope that you will be able to see

من ناوم(میهرە) و ئەمەش(ئیرمی) هاوڕێمە.

not just my Taliban-like beard,

but also the richness and color

عەزدەکەم کە گەورە دەبم ببمە پزیشکی ئاژەڵان

بۆ ئەوەی بتوانم ئاگاداری سەگ و پشیلە بێ سەرپەرشتییارەکان بم

of my perceptions, aspirations and dreams,

کە بە شەقەماکانی ئەو گوندەدا دەسووڕێنەوە

as rich and colorful as the satchels that I sell.

کە ڵەنزیک (گیلگیت باکوری پاکستان) لێی دەژیم.

My name is Meher and this is my friend Irim.

I hope to become a vet when I grow up

من ناوم کایلاشە. و عەزم لە دەولەمەندکردنی ژیانە

so that I can take care of stray cats and dogs

لە ڕێگای شوشەی ڕنگاوڕەنگەوە.

who wander around the streets of the village

(مادام)، عەزت لەو چەناگە پرتەقاڵیانە دەبێت

that I live near Gilgit, northern Pakistan.

کە خاڵە پەمەییەکانیان لەسەرە؟

My name is Kailash. And I like to enrich lives

وە من ئاوارەیەکی ناوخۆم، کەسێکی ئاوارەی ناوخۆییم،

through technicolored glass.

Madame, would you like some of those orange bangles

And I'm an IDP, an internally displaced person,

ئایە وا هەست دەکەی لەناو جلەکانمەوە گیرم خواردوە؟

Do you see me on the other side of this fence?

Do I matter, or really exist for you?

یان دەتوانی ئەم دیو و پەردەیە تێبپەڕینی

و بەڕاستی من ببینی کە چۆن کەسێکم؟

My name is Iman. I am a fashion model,

ناوم ئەحمەدە، پەنابەرێکی ئەفغانیم

an up-and-coming model from Lahore.

لە دەزگای خیبەرەوە.

Do you see me simply smothered in cloth?

لە شوێنێکی زۆر تاریک و سەختەوە هاتووم.

Or can you move beyond my veil

و لەبەر ئەوە دەمەوێت جیهان ڕووناک بکەمەوە.

and see me for who I truly am inside?

My name is Ahmed. I am an Afghan refugee

دڵم و تەپڵەکەم وەک یەک لێدەدەن.

from the Khyber agency.

I have come from a place of intense darkness.

ئەگەر ئایین وەک پێشڕەوی خەڵکی بێت،

ئەوا لای من، میوزیکە و بەتایبەتیش(گەنجا).

And that is why I want to illuminate the world.

My name is Papusay.

(گەشەی ئابووری سوود بەهەمووان دەگەیەنێت).

My heart and drum beat as one.

و گەشەی ئابووری لە هیندستان

گەشەیەکی ئابووری سەرنجڕاکێش

If religion is the opium of the masses,

then for me, music is my one and only ganja.

زیاتر لە ٤٠٠ ملیۆن خەڵکی

هیندستانی بەرزکردووەتەوە بەرەو چینێکی ناوەندی گەشەسەندوو.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

بەڵام هێشتان زیاتر لە٦٥٠ خەڵکی هیندی،

And the rising tide of India's

spectacular economic growth

پاکستانی، سریڵانکی، بەنگلادشی، نیپالی،

has lifted over 400 million

لە دۆخی هەژاریدا ماونەتەوە.

Indians into a buoyant middle class.

بۆیە هەروەک هیندستان و پاکستان، من و تۆش،

But there are still over 650 million Indians,

پێویستە جیاوازییەکانمان تێپەڕێنین،

Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis, Nepalese,

ئاهەنگ بگێڕین بۆ هەمە جۆریمان،

who remain washed up on the shores of poverty.

مرۆڤایەتی هاوبەش لەنێوانمان بەکار بهێنین.

Therefore as India and Pakistan, as you and I,

یەکتربینینی بەکۆمەڵمان لە (نایا جیڤان)،

it behooves us to transcend our differences,

کە بۆ زۆرێکتان، وەکو ئەوەی دەزانن،

لە ئوردۆ و هیندی واتا “ژیانێکی نوێ”،

to celebrate our diversity,

ئەمە بوژانەوەی چەندین خێزانی کەم دەرامەتە

to leverage our common humanity.

بە دابینکردنی شتوومەکی گونجاو بۆیان

Our collective vision at Naya Jeevan,

بۆ چاودێری تەندروستیەکی نالەبار.

which for many of you, as you all recognize,

بەڕاستی یەکەم جارە لە جیهانێکی تازەدا

means "new life" in Urdu and Hindi,

HMO تەرخاندەکرێت بۆ کرێکار و خەڵکی هەژار لە شارەکاندا.

is to rejuvenate the lives of millions of low income families

بۆچی دەبێت ئێمە وەک هیندستانی و پاکستانی ئەم کارە بکەیین؟

by providing them with affordable access

ئێمە دوو وڵاتی زۆر لێکەوە نزیکین لە زۆربەی ڕووەکانەوە.

to catastrophic health care.

و چارەنوسمان پێکەوە بەستراوە،

Indeed it is the emerging world's first

HMO for the urban working poor.

دواتر باوەڕمان وایە ئەمە ڕێسایەکی باشی کارمایە، بەختێکی باشە.

Why should we do this as Indians and Pakistanis?

و بۆ زۆرێک لە ئێمە، بەڕاستی بەختمان درۆمان لەگەڵ ئەکات

We are but two threads cut from the same cloth.

لە ژێرەوەی هەڕەمەکە دایە. سوپاس.

(چەپڵەڕێزان)

And if our fates are intertwined,

then we believe that it is good karma, it is good fortune.

کریس ئەندێرسن: سەرنجڕاکێشە. لێرە بمێنەوە.

And for many of us, our fortunes do indeed lie

سەرنجڕاکێش بوو.

at the bottom of the pyramid. Thank you.

دەزانی هەولی زۆرمان داوە بۆ ئەوەی لانی کەم

بەشێکی کەم لە خەلکی پاکستانی بێنینە ئێرە.

I found that really moving.

پاکستانی تکایە هەستە سەرپێ پێ زەعمەت؟

You know, we fought hard to get at least

a small Pakistani contingent to come.

It felt like it was really important.

They went through a lot to get here.

Would the Pakistanis please just stand up please?

I just really wanted to acknowledge you.
