To move to somewhere where no one knows you,

ڕۆشتن بۆ شوێنێک ھیچ کەسێک نەتناسێت،

where you don't have to look at a single laughing face.

شوێنێک کە پێویست ناکات سەیری ھیچ ڕوخسارێکی دەم بە پێکەنین بکەیت.

To elope with this grief

بۆ ھەڵاتن لەگەڵ ئەم خەمە

who is not your enemy

کە دوژمنی تۆ نییە

This grief who maybe now is your best friend.

ئەم خەمە کە لەوانەیە ئێستا باشترین ھاوڕێت بێت.

This grief who is your husband,

ئەو خەمەی کە ھاوسەرتە،

the thing you curl into every night, falling asleep in its arms.

ئەو شتەی کە ھەموو شەوێک خۆتی لێ دەئاڵێنی، دەکەویتە خەو لە قۆڵەکانی.

ئەوەی بەیانی زوو لەخەو ھەڵدەستێت بۆ ئەوەی ژەمی بەیانییانێکی ساردت بۆ ئامادە بکات.

Who wakes up early to make you your cold thankless breakfast.

To go to that place where every surface is a blade.

بۆ ئەوەی بچێتە ئەو شوێنەی کە ھەموو لایەک گوێزانەیە.

A sharp thing on which to hang your sorry flesh

شتێکی تیژ کە گۆشتی خەمبارتی پێوە ھەڵواسی

to feel something,

بۆ ھەستکردن بە شتێک،

anything,

ھەر شتێک،

other than this.
