کە دوژمنت نییە

This grief who maybe now is your best friend.

ئەو خەمەى لەوانەیە ئێستا باشترین هاوڕێت بێت.

This grief who is your husband,

the thing you curl into every night, falling asleep in its arms.

Who wakes up early to make you your cold thankless breakfast.

کە خەبەرت دەکاتەوە بۆ بەرچاییەکى بێ منەت.

To go to that place where every surface is a blade.

بۆ ئەوەى بچیت بۆ ئەم شوێنە کە هەموو ڕوویەک تیژە.

A sharp thing on which to hang your sorry flesh

شتێکی تیژ بۆ ئەوەی جەستەی خەمبارت پێ هەڵبواسیت.

to feel something,

بۆ ئەوەی هەست بە شتێک بکەیت،

anything,

هەر شتێک،

other than this.
