It was actually really inspiring

to see all these Egyptians completely changing.

If you look at the scene,

Egypt, for 30 years, had been in a downhill --

तो यह 30 वर्षों से बहोत ही बुरी स्थिति में था

going into a downhill.

Everything was going bad.

सब कुछ बुरा हो रहा था |

Everything was going wrong.

सब कुछ गलत हो रहा था |

We only ranked high when it comes to poverty,

हमारी गिनती सबसे आगे होती थी जब भी गरीबी

corruption,

भ्रष्टाचार की बात होती थी ,

lack of freedom of speech,

अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता की कमी,

lack of political activism.

राजनीतिक सक्रियता की कमी

Those were the achievements

ये सब हमारे महान शासन

of our great regime.

की उपलब्धियां थी |

Yet, nothing was happening.

फिर भी कुछ नहीं हो रहा था |

And it's not because people were happy

यह इस लिए नहीं कि लोग खुश थे

or people were not frustrated.

या लोग निराश नहीं थे |

In fact, people were extremely frustrated.

वास्तव में लोग बहुत ज्यादा निराश थे |

But the reason why everyone was silent

मेरे अनुसार सबके चुप रहने का कारण

is what I call the psychological barrier of fear.

डर की मनोवैज्ञानिक बाधा थी |

Everyone was scared.

सभी डरे हुए थे |

Not everyone. There were actually a few brave Egyptians

सभी नही | कुछ बहादुर इजिप्त वासी भी थे

that I have to thank for being so brave --

मैं उन्हें बहादुर होने के लिए धन्यववाद देता हूँ --

going into protests as a couple of hundred,

वे लोग विरोध प्रदर्शन करने जाते थे ,

getting beaten up and arrested.

But in fact, the majority were scared.

Everyone did not want really

to get in trouble.

A dictator cannot live without the force.

They want to make people live in fear.

And that psychological barrier of fear

had worked for so many years,

were helping us a lot

because it basically gave us the impression that, "Wow, I'm not alone.

There are a lot of people who are frustrated."

There are lots of people who are frustrated.

There are lots of people who actually share the same dream.

यंहा बहुत सारे लोग हैं जिनका एक ही सपना है |

There are lots of people who care about their freedom.

यंहा बहुत सारे लोग हैं जो कि आजादी चाहते हैं |

They probably have the best life in the world.

वे शायद दुनिया में सबसे अच्छा जीवन जी रहे हैं |

They are living in happiness. They are living in their villas.

उनके जीवन में ख़ुशी है | वे अपने बंगलों में रह रहे हैं |

They are happy. They don't have problems.

वो खुश हैं , उन्हें कोई समस्या नहीं है |

But they are still feeling the pain of the Egyptian.

फिर भी वो इजिप्त वासियों के दर्द को अनुभव करते हैं |

A lot of us, we're not really happy

हम में से बहुत से लोग खुश नहीं हैं |

when we see a video of an Egyptian man

जब हम इजिप्त के एक आदमी को देखते हैं ,

who's eating the trash

जो कि गरीबी में जी रहा है ,

while others are stealing

billions of Egyptian pounds

from the wealth of the country.

The Internet has played a great role,

helping these people to speak up their minds,

to collaborate together, to start thinking together.

It was an educational campaign.

in June 2010.

I still remember the photo.

मुझे अभी भी तस्वीर याद है |

I still remember every single detail of that photo.

The photo was horrible.

He was tortured,

उस पर अत्याचार किया गया था,

brutally tortured to death.

But then what was the answer of the regime?

"He choked on a pile of hash" --

हैश के ढेर में उसका दम घुट गया था |

that was their answer:

या था उनका जवाब |

"He's a criminal.

वह एक अपराधी है |

He's someone who escaped from all these bad things."

वह इन सब बुरी चीजों को लेकर भाग गया था |

But people did not relate to this.

किन्तु लोगों को यह अप्रासंगिक लगा |

People did not believe this.

लोगों ने इस पर विश्वास नहीं किया |

Because of the Internet, the truth prevailed

इन्टरनेट के कारण सच सामने आ गया

and everyone knew the truth.

और सब को सच्चाई का पता चल गया |

And everyone started to think that "this guy could be my brother."

और सभी सोचने लगे कि "यह आदमी हमारा भाई भी हो सकता है "

He was a middle-class guy.

वह मध्यमवर्गीय परिवार से था |

His photo was remembered by all of us.

उसकी तस्वीर हम सभी को याद थी |

A page was created.

फेसबुक पर एक पेज बनाया गया

An anonymous administrator

एक गुमनाम संचालक

was basically inviting people to join the page,

लोगों को उस पेज में शामिल होने के लिए सन्देश भेजने लगा |

and there was no plan.

और वहाँ कोई योजना नहीं थी.

"What are we going to do?" "I don't know."

हम क्या करने जा रहे थे? "मुझे नहीं पता"

In a few days, tens of thousands of people there --

कुछ ही दिनों में हजारो लाखो लोग वंहा थे --

angry Egyptians

नाराज इजिप्त वासी

who were asking the ministry of interior affairs,

जो कि गृह मत्रालय से मांग कर रहे थे कि

"Enough.

"बहोत हो गया

Get those who killed this guy.

जिसने उस व्यक्ति की हत्या की है

To just bring them to justice."

उन्हें पकड़ो और उन्हें सजा दो |"

But of course, they don't listen.

पर उन्होंने यह फरियाद नहीं सुनी |

It was an amazing story --

यह एक अद्भुत कहानी थी --

how everyone started feeling the ownership.

Everyone was an owner in this page.

वह पेज अब सभी का था |

People started contributing ideas.

In fact, one of the most ridiculous ideas

was, "Hey, let's have a silent stand.

Let's get people to go in the street,

face the sea, their back to the street,

dressed in black, standing up silently for one hour,

doing nothing and then just leaving,

going back home."

For some people, that was like, "Wow, silent stand.

And next time it's going to be vibration."

People were making fun of the idea.

लोग उस विचार का मजाक उड़ा रहे थे |

But actually when people went to the street --

the first time it was thousands of people

पहली बार अलेक्सांद्रिया में

in Alexandria --

हजारों लोग थे --

it felt like -- it was amazing. It was great

ऐसा प्रतीत हुआ कि --यह अदभुत था |

because it connected people from the virtual world,

क्योंकि इसने लोगों को आभासी दुनिया में जोड़ा

bringing them to the real world,

और वास्तविक दुनिया में एक सांथ लेकर आया,

sharing the same dream,

एक ही सपने के सांथ,

the same frustration, the same anger,

वही निराशा , वही क्रोध,

the same desire for freedom.

और वही आजादी की चाह |

And they were doing this thing.

और वो उसके लिए कार्य कर रहे थे |

But did the regime learn anything? Not really.

किन्तु क्या प्रशासन ने इसे समझा? बिलकुल नहीं |

They were actually attacking them.

वास्तव में वो उन पर हमला कर रहे थे |

They were actually abusing them,

वो उन्हें प्रताड़ित कर रहे थे ,

despite the fact of how peaceful these guys were --

जबकि वो लोग शांतिपूर्ण थे

they were not even protesting.

वो तो विरोध भी नहीं कर रहे थे |

And things had developed

और तब तक क्रोध विकसित होता रहा

until the Tunisian revolution.

जब तक तुनिसियन क्रांति हुई |

This whole page was, again,

फेसबुक पेज एक बार फिर

managed by the people.

लोगों के द्वारा संचालित होने लगा |

In fact, the anonymous admin job

एक गुमनाम संचालक

was to collect ideas,

लोगों के विचार एकत्रित कर रहा था,

help people to vote on them

लोगों से उन विचारों पर राय ले रहा था

and actually tell them what they are doing.

और उन लोगों को बता रहा था कि वो लोग क्या कर रहे हैं |

People were taking shots and photos;

लोग घटनाओ की तस्वीर ले रहे थे ;

people were reporting violations of human rights in Egypt;

और इजिप्त में मानव अधिकार के हनन की शिकायत कर रहे थे;

people were suggesting ideas,

लोग सुझाव दे रहे थे,

they were actually voting on ideas,

वो लोग उन सुझावों पर अपना मत व्यक्त कर रहे थे,

and then they were executing the ideas; people were creating videos.

और फिर वो उन सुझावों पर अमल कर रहे थे; लोग विडियो बना रहे थे |

Everything was done by the people to the people,

सब कुछ लोगों के द्वारा लोगों के लिए किया जा रहा था ,

and that's the power of the Internet.

और यह इन्टरनेट की ताकत थी |

There was no leader.

वंहा कोई भी नायक नहीं था |

The leader was everyone on that page.

उस पेज पर सभी नायक थे |

The Tunisian experiment, as Amir was saying,

जैसे आमिर कह रहे थे ,एक तुनिसियन प्रयोग ने

inspired all of us, showed us that there is a way.

हम सभी को प्रेरित किया और हमें एक राह दिखाई |

Yes we can. We can do it.

हाँ हम कर सकते हैं | हम कर सकते हैं |

We have the same problems;

हम सभी की एक ही समस्या है

we can just go in the streets.

हम विरोध करने सडकों पर आ सकते हैं |

And when I saw the street on the 25th,

I went back and said,

"Egypt before the 25th

I was detained on the 27th night.

Thank God I announced the locations and everything.

But they detained me.

And I'm not going to talk about my experience, because this is not about me.

मैं अपने अनुभव के बारे में बात नहीं करूँगा, क्योंकि यह मेरे बारे में नहीं है |

I was detained for 12 days,

मैं १२ दिन हिरासत में था

blindfolded, handcuffed.

And I did not really hear anything. I did not know anything.

मैंने कुछ भी नहीं सुना | मुझे कुछ भी नहीं पता था |

I was not allowed to speak with anyone.

मैं किसी से बात नहीं कर सकता था |

And I went out.

और फिर मैं बाहर आया

The next day I was in Tahrir.

दुसरे दिन मैं तहरीर में था |

Seriously, with the amount of change I had noticed in this square,

तहरीर चौक में जो परिवर्तन मैंने देखा,

I thought it was 12 years.

उससे मुझे लगा जैसे १२ साल हो गये हों

I never had in my mind

मैंने यह कभी नहीं सोचा था

to see this Egyptian,

की मैं इजिप्त वासियों को ऐसे देखूंगा

the amazing Egyptian.

अदभुत इजिप्त वासी |

The fear is no longer fear.

डर अब डर नहीं रहा |

It's actually strength -- it's power.

वह वास्तव में अब शक्ति था |

People were so empowered.

लोग बहुत सशक्त थे |

It was amazing how everyone was so empowered

यह बहुत आश्चर्यजनक था कि लोग सशक्त कैसे हुए

and now asking for their rights.

और अब अपने अधिकारों की मांग रहे थे |

Completely opposite.

पूरी तरह से विपरीत |

Extremism became tolerance.

अतिवाद अब सहनशीलता बन गया था |

Who would [have] imagined before the 25th,

25 से पहले किसने ऐसा सोचा होगा,

if I tell you that hundreds of thousands of Christians are going to pray

कि जब हजारों ईसाई प्रार्थना करने जा रहे थे

and tens of thousands of Muslims are going to protect them,

तब हजारों मुस्लिम उनकी रक्षा कर रहे थे ,

and then hundreds of thousands of Muslims are going to pray

और जब हजारों मुस्लिम नमाज के लिए जा रहे थे

and tens of thousands of Christians are going to protect them --

तब हजारों ईसाई उनकी रक्षा कर रहे थे |

this is amazing.

यह बहुत आश्चर्यजनक था |

All the stereotypes

सारे रूढीवादी आरोप जो

that the regime was trying to put on us

प्रशासन हम पर लगा रहा था और

through their so-called propaganda, or mainstream media,

उनका प्रसार मुख्य संचार माध्यम से कर रहा था,

are proven wrong.

वो सब गलत साबित हुए |

This whole revolution showed us

पूरी क्रांति ने हमें दिखा दिया

how ugly such a regime was

कि प्रशासन कितना कुरूप था

and how great and amazing

और इजिप्त के नर ,नारी

the Egyptian man, the Egyptian woman,

कितने महान और अदभुत हैं ,

how simple and amazing these people are

कितने सादे और आश्चर्यजनक होते हैं ये लोग

whenever they have a dream.

जब भी ये कोई स्वप्न देखते हैं |

When I saw that,

जब मैंने यह देखा

I went back and I wrote on Facebook.

तब मैंने वापस जाकर फेसबुक पर लिखा

And that was a personal belief,

और वह मेरा व्यक्तिगत विश्वास था,

regardless of what's going on,

क्या हो रहा था उसकी परवाह किये बिना ,

regardless of the details.

बिना किसी जानकारी के

I said that, "We are going to win.

मैंने कहा "हम जीतने वाले हैं |

We are going to win because we don't understand politics.

हम जीतने वाले हैं क्योंकि हमें राजनीती समझ नहीं आती है |

We're going to win because we don't play their dirty games.

हम जीतने वाले हैं क्योंकि हम उनकी तरह गलत चाल नहीं चलते हैं |

We're going to win because we don't have an agenda.

हम जीतने वाले हैं क्योंकि इसमे हमारा कोई निजी स्वार्थ नहीं है |

We're going to win because the tears that come from our eyes

हम जीतने वाले हैं क्योंकि जो आंसू हमारी आँखों से आते हैं

actually come from our hearts.

वास्तव में वो हमारे दिल से आते हैं |

We're going to win because we have dreams.

हम जीतने वाले हैं क्योंकि हमारे पास एक सपना है |

We're going to win because we are willing to stand up for our dreams."

हम जीतने वाले हैं क्योंकि हम अपने सपने को सच करने के लिए तैयार खड़े हैं |"

And that's actually what happened. We won.

और वही हुआ | हम जीत गए |

And that's not because of anything,

और यह किसी और कारण नहीं था,

but because we believed in our dream.

पर इसलिए क्योंकि हमें आपने सपने पर विश्वास था |

The winning here is not

विजय इस बात की नहीं थी कि

the whole details of what's going to happen in the political scene.

राजनीतिक दृष्टि से यंहा क्या होने वाला है |

The winning is the winning of the dignity

यह विजय इजिप्त वासियों के

of every single Egyptian.

प्रतिष्ठा की जीत है |

Actually, I had this taxi driver telling me,

एक टैक्सी चालक ने मुझसे कहा

"Listen, I am breathing freedom.

मैं आजादी महशुस कर रहा हूँ |

I feel that I have dignity

मुझे मेरी प्रतिष्ठा मिल गई है जो

that I have lost for so many years."

मैंने इतने वर्षो में खो दी थी |

For me that's winning,

मेरे लिए यह जीत है ,

regardless of all the details.

और किसी चीज की मुझे परवाह नहीं है |

My last word to you is a statement I believe in,

मेरे अंतिम शब्द एक ध्हेय वाक्य है जिस पर मुझे विश्वास है ,

which Egyptians have proven to be true,

जिसे इजिप्त वासियों ने सत्य साबित किया है ,

that the power of the people

वह यह है कि जनता की शक्ति,

is much stronger than the people in power.

शक्ति पर आसीन लोगों से बहुत ज्यादा होती है |
