Jomama Jones is the person in me I turn to as a guide.

which was a holiday I invented

when I caught my uncle Freeman red-handed.

His hands were wide and calloused,

As we worked he would talk with folks

and I brought it crashing down on that pig.

And Uncle Freeman started to weep as I gathered up all the coins.

"We're not buying no lottery ticket, Uncle Freeman.

C'mon."

Pata hai, mere baagwani samuh ke bacche?

We spent every last cent at the seed store.

You know, the kids in my gardening group?

They didn't bat an eye when I had Uncle Freeman get down

and start breaking up that soil for our seeds.

And my little friend Taesha even came over and started slapping him on the back

saying, "Cry it out, Uncle Freeman.

"I can't fix this," he sobbed.

वो पहले तथा आखरी नही थे इस तरह सोचने वाले

It's an ancient-future truism, that.

यह मरम्मत के बाहर है .

He wasn't the first to feel that way, and he wouldn't be the last.

वो है .

Right now, it feels as though everything is breaking beyond repair.

पर ये टूट कर खुला भी हो सकता है .

कोई फरक नहीं कितना अनिश्चित ,हिसक है

It is.

.कितना डरावना लगे

But that breaking apart can be a breaking open,

बात यह है की .

.हम ये अकेले नहीं कर सकते

no matter how violent and uncertain

and fearsome it seems.

फ्रीमैन इतना रोये उस दिन बिज लगते हुए ,

The thing is ...

we can't do it alone.

वो हमारा अपना सिचाई तंत्र था .

Uncle Freeman cried so much that day as we planted our seeds,

“मुझे पता नहीं अब मै कौन हू छोटी लड़की .”

he was our very own irrigation system.

सूर्यास्त पर उसने यह कहाr.

" बहोत अच्छा अंकल .

"I don't know who I am anymore, little girl,"

बढ़िया .

he said to me at sundown.

अब आप नए है ,

हमें आप ऐसे ही चाहिए .”

"Good, Uncle Freeman.

and that's just how we need you."
