And I'm going to explain some euphemisms to you for the word 'pregnant'.

ပြီးတော့ ငါ 'ကိုယ်ဝန်' ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးအတွက် မင်းကို ရီမောစရာတချို့ကို ငါရှင်းပြမယ်။

So maybe if your friend or somebody is pregnant, people will ask and you'll say, "Oh, she's pregnant".

ဒါကြောင့် သင့်သူငယ်ချင်း ဒါမှမဟုတ် တစ်ယောက်ယောက်က ကိုယ်ဝန်ရှိနေရင် လူတွေက မေးပြီး "အိုး၊ သူမမှာ ကိုယ်ဝန်ရှိနေတယ်" လို့ ပြောပါလိမ့်မယ်။

But the word 'pregnant' might be a little bit too direct.

ဒါပေမယ့် 'ကိုယ်ဝန်ဆောင်' ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးက နည်းနည်းတော့ တိုက်ရိုက်ဖြစ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။

So we have some euphemisms that we can use to  say 'pregnant' without saying 'pregnant'.

ဒါကြောင့် 'ကိုယ်ဝန်' လို့ မပြောဘဲ 'ကိုယ်ဝန်' လို့ သုံးနိုင်တဲ့ ယုတ္တိရှိတာတွေ ရှိပါတယ်။

So, let's look at the board.

ဒီတော့ ဘုတ်ကို ကြည့်ရအောင်။

So, right up front, "She's pregnant."

ဒါနဲ့ "သူမ ကိုယ်ဝန်ရှိနေပြီ"

That is how you would say it. And everybody knows what it means.

ဒါပဲပြောမယ်။ ဘာကိုဆိုလိုတယ်ဆိုတာ လူတိုင်းသိပါတယ်။

"She's pregnant."

"သူမမှာ ကိုယ်ဝန်ရှိနေတယ်"

Down here are euphemisms.

ဤနေရာတွင် ရယ်မောဖွယ်ရာများဖြစ်သည်။

So the most common one,

ဒါကြောင့် အဖြစ်အများဆုံးတစ်ခုကတော့

"She's expecting."

"သူမမျှော်နေ"

So she's expecting a baby in the future.

ဒါကြောင့် သူမဟာ အနာဂတ်မှာ ကလေးရဖို့ မျှော်လင့်နေပါတယ်။

You can just say, "Oh, she's expecting," and everybody knows  what that means.

"အိုး၊ သူမ မျှော်လင့်နေတယ်" လို့သာ ပြောနိုင်ပြီး အဲဒါ ဘာကိုဆိုလိုတယ်ဆိုတာ လူတိုင်းသိပါတယ်။

Very, very common.

သိပ်ကို အဖြစ်များတယ်။

Number two.

နံပါတ်နှစ်။

"She's preggers."

"သူမက ကြိုစားတယ်။"

So preggers is like a shortened form of pregnant.

ဒါကြောင့် preggers တွေက ကိုယ်ဝန်အတိုကောက်ပုံစံနဲ့တူပါတယ်။

It's less serious. It's kind of funny.

နည်းနည်းလေးနက်တယ်။ ရယ်စရာတစ်မျိုး။

"She's preggers."

"သူမက ကြိုစားတယ်။"

"Eating for two."

"နှစ်ယောက်စား။"

"Eating for two," is she's got a lot of food on her plate.

"နှစ်ယောက်စားမယ်" လို့ သူ့ပန်းကန်ထဲမှာ စားစရာတွေ အများကြီး ရှိနေသည် ။

She's eating for her and she's eating for the baby.

သူ့အတွက် စားနေပြီး ကလေးအတွက် စားနေတယ်။

"She's eating for two."

"သူ နှစ်ယောက်စားနေတယ်"

These two are idioms.

ဤနှစ်ခုသည် idiom များဖြစ်သည်။

So "Knocked up."

ဒါဆို "ခေါက်ပြီ"

"Knocked up," is a little bit negative.

"ခေါက်ပြီ" ဆိုတာက နည်းနည်း အဆိုးမြင်တယ်။

In the past, it was used for somebody who's unmarried.

အရင်တုန်းကတော့ လက်မထပ်ရသေးသူအတွက် သုံးပါတယ်။

So, "She's knocked up."

ဒါဆို "သူမ ပြုတ်သွားပြီ။"

The baby wasn't expected. She's not married. It's a little bit of a surprise.

ကလေးက မမျှော်လင့်ထားဘူး။ သူမ အိမ်ထောင်မပြုပါ။ နည်းနည်းတော့ အံ့သြစရာပါပဲ။

So that wasn't a good feeling with 'knocked up,' but now people say it all the time.

ဒါကြောင့် 'ခေါက်လိုက်တာ' လို့ ကောင်းတဲ့ ခံစားချက် မဟုတ်ပေမယ့် အခု လူတွေက တစ်ချိန်လုံး ပြောနေကြတယ်။

So, "She's knocked up." It's not negative anymore.

ဒါဆို "သူမ ပြုတ်သွားပြီ။" အနုတ်လက္ခဏာမဟုတ်တော့ဘူး။

"She has a bun in the oven."

"သူ့မှာ မီးဖိုထဲမှာ မုန့်ထုပ်ရှိတယ်။"

This one's kind of funny. So you need to imagine that the woman's body is an oven.

ဒါက ရယ်စရာတစ်မျိုး။ ဒါကြောင့် အမျိုးသမီးရဲ့ ခန္ဓာကိုယ်ဟာ မီးဖိုတစ်ခုလို့ စိတ်ကူးကြည့်ဖို့ လိုပါတယ်။

And inside there is a baby. The baby is the bread.

ပြီးတော့ အထဲမှာ ကလေးတစ်ယောက်ရှိတယ်။ ကလေးက ပေါင်မုန့်။

It's a little bun, just a little bun. And it's going to grow.

ပေါင်မုန့်နည်းနည်း၊ ပေါက်တော့မယ်။

And babies grow, bread grows in the oven. So 'bun' is the baby 'in the oven', which is the 'stomach'.

ကလေးငယ်များ ကြီးထွားလာပြီး မုန့်သည် မီးဖို၌ပေါက်သည်။ ဒီတော့ 'ဘန်း' က 'မီးဖို' က 'ဗိုက်' တဲ့။
