I work on the issue of commercial sexual exploitation.

My own journey to work with these children

Yes, there were eight men who defiled me, raped me,

We felt, one of the things that these girls had

They need your compassion.

Many times when I talk to people,

I keep telling them one thing:

how you cannot respond to this problem.

Can you ply your mind for that one way

that you can respond to the problem?

And that's what I'm here for,

asking for your support,

உங்கள் ஆதரவு கேட்டு

demanding for your support,

உங்கள் ஆதரவு கோரி

requesting for your support.

உங்கள் ஆதரவு வேண்டி.

Can you break your culture of silence?

இந்த அமைதி காக்கும் கலாச்சாரத்தை உங்களால் உடைக்க முடியுமா ?

Can you speak to at least two persons about this story?

இந்த கதையா பற்றி ஒரு இரண்டு பேரிடம் ஆவது உங்களால் கூற முடியுமா?

Tell them this story. Convince them to tell the story to another two persons.

அவர்களிடம் இந்த கதையை கூறுங்கள். அவர்களிடம் இந்த கதையை வேறு ரெண்டு பேரிடம் கூற செய்யுங்கள்.

I'm not asking you all to become Mahatma Gandhis

நான் உங்களை எல்லாம் மகாத்மா காந்தி ஆக,

or Martin Luther Kings, or Medha Patkars,

அல்லது மார்டின் லூதர் கிங் ஆக, அல்லது மேதா பட்கர் ஆக,

or something like that.

அல்லது வேறு எதுவாகவோ சொல்லவில்லை.

I'm asking you, in your limited world,

நான் உங்களை கேட்பதெல்லாம், உங்களின் எல்லைக்குட்பட்ட உலகத்தில்

can you open your minds? Can you open your hearts?

உங்கள் மனங்களை உங்களால் திறக்க முடியுமா? உங்கள் இதயத்தை திறக்க முடியுமா?

Can you just encompass these people too?

இந்த மக்களையும் உங்கள் சூழலுக்குள் ஏற்க முடியுமா?

Because they are also a part of us.

ஏனென்றால், அவர்கள் நமக்குள் ஒரு பகுதி.

They are also part of this world.

அவர்கள் இந்த உலகத்தில் ஒரு பகுதியும் கூட.

I'm asking you, for these children,

whose faces you see, they're no more.

They died of AIDS last year.

I'm asking you to help them,

accept as human beings --

not as philanthropy, not as charity,

சமுதாய தொண்டாக இல்லாமல், ஈகையாக இல்லாமல்

but as human beings who deserve all our support.

எல்லாருடைய ஆதரவிற்கு தகுதி உடைய மனிதராக

I'm asking you this because no child, no human being,

நான் உங்களிடம் இதை ஏன் கேட்கிறேனென்றால் எந்த குழந்தையும், எந்த மனிதரும்

deserves what these children have gone through.

இந்த குழந்தைகள் அனுபவித்ததை அனுபவிக்கக்கூடாது என்பதற்காக.
