Over 150 years ago

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky took these questions up

फ्योदोर मिखाइलोविच दोस्तोयेव्स्की ने ने इन प्रश्नों को अपनी रचना में उठाया

in what would become one of the best-known works of Russian literature:

First serialized in a literary magazine in 1866,

सबसे पहले 1866 में एक साहित्यिक पत्रिकार में क्रमबद्ध किया गया

the novel tells the story of Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov,

यह उपन्यास रोडिओन रोमानोविच रस्कोलनिकोव की कहानी बताता है,

सेंट पीटर्सबर्ग में एक जवान कानून का छात्र।

a young law student in Saint Petersburg.

Raskolnikov lives in abject poverty,

रस्कोलनिकोव घोर गरीबी में जीता है,

and at the start of the story has run out of funds to continue his studies.

और कहानी के शुरुआत में उसके पास अपनी पढ़ाई जारी रखने के लिए पैसे ख़त्म हो जाते है।

Letters from his rural home only add to his distress

when he realizes how much his mother and sister have sacrificed for his success.

Increasingly desperate

after selling the last of his valuables to an elderly pawnbroker,

As a young writer who left behind a promising military career,

In many ways,
