So recently, we asked ourselves

if we could invent a format

프로젝트에 숨겨진 이야기를 쉽게

that could actually tell the stories behind the projects,

전달할 수 있는 방법을 만들 수 있지 않을까.

maybe combining images and drawings and words

영상이나 그림들, 그리고 글자를 조합해

to actually sort of tell stories about architecture.

건축이야기를 실제로 만들 수 있을 것 같았습니다.

And we discovered that we didn't have to invent it,

그러다 우리는 새로운 형태를 만들지 않아도 된다는 것을 알게되었습니다.

it already existed in the form of a comic book.

So we basically copied the format of the comic book

to actually tell the stories of behind the scenes,

how our projects actually evolve through adaptation

and improvisation.

Sort of through the turmoil and the opportunities

We call this comic book "Yes is More,"

which is obviously a sort of evolution of the ideas of some of our heroes.

In this case it's Mies van der Rohe's Less is More.

He triggered the modernist revolution.

After him followed the post-modern counter-revolution,

And what we'd like to say with "Yes is More"

is basically trying to question this idea

that the architectural avant-garde is almost always negatively defined,

as who or what we are against.

The cliche of the radical architect

is the sort of angry young man rebelling against the establishment.

Or this idea of the misunderstood genius,

frustrated that the world doesn't fit in with his or her ideas.

Rather than revolution, we're much more interested in evolution,

this idea that things gradually evolve

In fact, I actually think that Darwin is one of the people

As you can see, a project evolves through

At each meeting, there's way too many ideas.

And through a process of architectural selection,

we might choose a really beautiful model

We mate them. They have sort of mutant offspring.

And through these sort of generations of design meetings

we arrive at a design.

A very literal way of showing it is a project we did

for a library and a hotel in Copenhagen.

The design process was really tough,

almost like a struggle for survival,

but gradually an idea evolved:

this sort of idea of a rational tower

that melts together with the surrounding city,

sort of expanding the public space onto what we refer to as

a Scandinavian version of the Spanish Steps in Rome,

but sort of public on the outside, as well as on the inside,

with the library.

But Darwin doesn't only explain the evolution of a single idea.

다윈 역시 단일 아이디어로만 진화를 설명한 건 아닙니다.

As you can see, sometimes a subspecies branches off.

보다시피 때로는 작은 부류로 분기시키도 했습니다.

And quite often we sit in a design meeting

우리도 각종 디자인 회의에서

and we discover that there is this great idea.

대단한 아이디어를 얻는 경우가 종종 있습니다.

It doesn't really work in this context.

다만 이 과정에 맞지 않을 뿐이죠.

But for another client in another culture,

이런 아이디어들은 다른 문화를 지닌

it could really be the right answer to a different question.

So as a result, we never throw anything out.

We keep our office almost like an archive

And what I'd like to do now, in an act of

is tell the story of how two projects evolved

by adapting and improvising

to the happenstance of the world.

어떻게 진화했는지에 대한 것입니다.

The first story starts last year when we went to Shanghai

첫번째 이야기는 지난해의 상하이에서 시작됩니다.

to do the competition for the Danish

2010년 만국박람회에서 쓰일 덴마크전시관의

National Pavilion for the World Expo in 2010.

디자인 공모가 상하이에서 있었습니다.

And we saw this guy, Haibao.

그곳에서 우리는 "하이바오"를 봤습니다.

He's the mascot of the expo,

엑스포의 마스코트죠.

and he looks strangely familiar.

이 마스코트는 이상하게도 친숙해보였는데,

In fact he looked like a building we had designed

그 이유가 우리가 북스웨덴의 한 호텔을 위해 만들었던

for a hotel in the north of Sweden.

건축 디자인과 매우 닮았기 때문이었습니다.

When we submitted it for the Swedish competition we thought

처음 그 디자인을 스웨덴 공모에 제출했을 때

it was a really cool scheme, but it didn't exactly

정말 최고의 디자인라고 믿었습니다.

look like something from the north of Sweden.

하지만, 북스웨덴의 무엇과도 닮지않았죠.

The Swedish jury didn't think so either. So we lost.

심사위원도 그렇게 생각했나봅니다. 결국 우린 떨어졌습니다.

But then we had a meeting with a Chinese businessman

그러던 중 우리는 중국에서 온 비지니스 맨을 만났는데,

who saw our design and said,

그는 우리 디자인을 보고 말했습니다.

"Wow, that's the Chinese character for the word 'people.'"

"와~ 사람을 나타내는 중국 글자 같은데요."

(Laughter)

(웃음)

So, apparently this is how you write "people,"

맞습니다. 이것은 중화인민공화국에서

as in the People's Republic of China.

사람을 지칭하는 글자모양입니다.

We even double checked.

재확인도 했습니다.

And at the same time, we got invited to exhibit

그시기에 우리는 상하이 창조 산업 주간의

at the Shanghai Creative Industry Week.

한 전시회에 초청을 받았습니다.

So we thought like, this is too much of an opportunity,

우리는 이것이 굉장한 기회라고 생각했죠.

so we hired a feng shui master.

그래서 풍수지리전문가를 고용했습니다.

We scaled the building up three times to Chinese proportions,

중국의 크기에 알맞게 건물을 3배로 키우고,

and went to China.

중국에 방문했습니다.

(Laughter)

(웃음)

So the People's Building, as we called it.

이 건물은 "사람 빌딩"으로 명칭을 붙였습니다.

This is our two interpreters, sort of reading the architecture.

우리의 두 통역사들이 건축물을 읽고 있군요.

It went on the cover of the Wen Wei Po newspaper,

이 건물이 "웬웨이포" 신문 1면에 등장하기도 했는데,

which got Mr. Liangyu Chen, the mayor of Shanghai,

이 신문사는 상하이시장 "리앙유첸"이 운영했습니다.

to visit the exhibition.

And we had the chance to explain the project.

And he said, "Shanghai is the city in the world

with most skyscrapers,"

but to him it was as if the connection to the roots had been cut over.

And with the People's Building, he saw an architecture

that could bridge the gap between the ancient wisdom of China

중국의 고대 지혜와 진보적 미래를 잊는

and the progressive future of China.

가교로 받아드렸습니다.

So we obviously profoundly agreed with him.

우리는 당연히 그의 의견에 크게 동의했습니다.

Unfortunately, Mr. Chen is now in prison for corruption.

불행히도 첸씨는 지금 부정부패로 감옥에 있습니다.

But like I said, Haibao looked very familiar,

because he is actually the Chinese character for "people."

And they chose this mascot because

"더 나은 도시, 더 나은 삶"이란

the theme of the expo is "Better City, Better Life."

엑스포의 주제에 이 마스코트는 제격이였습니다.

Sustainability.

"지속가능성"

And we thought, sustainability has grown into being

우리는 "지속가능성" 이란 좋은 일 때문에,

this sort of neo-Protestant idea

스스로를 희생하는 신프로테스탄트적인

that it has to hurt in order to do good.

아이디어가 늘고있다고 생각했습니다.

You know, you're not supposed to take long, warm showers.

따뜻한 물로 장시간 샤워를 지속하지 말라하고,

You're not supposed to fly on holidays because it's bad for the environment.

환경에 해가되니 휴일엔 여행을 자제하라고도 합니다.

Gradually, you get this idea that sustainable life

일상생활을 점점 재미없게 만드는

is less fun than normal life.

"지속가능한 삶"을 위한 아이디어가 늘고있습니다.

So we thought that maybe it could be interesting to focus on examples

어떻게 "지속가능한 도시"에 집중하면서도

where a sustainable city

삶의 질도 함께 높일수 있을까.

actually increases the quality of life.

우리는 그 방법을 고민했습니다.

We also asked ourselves, what could Denmark possibly show China

또 스스로에게 물었습니다. "덴마크가 무엇을 보여주면

that would be relevant?

중국에게 의미가 있을까?"

You know, it's one of the biggest countries in the world, one of the smallest.

중국은 가장 큰 나라이지만, 덴마크는 가장 작은 나라 중 하나입니다.

China symbolized by the dragon.

중국의 상징은 용입니다.

Denmark, we have a national bird, the swan.

덴마크는 백조가 나라를 상징하죠.

(Laughter)

(웃음)

China has many great poets,

중국엔 훌륭한 시인이 많습니다..

but we discovered that in the People's Republic

그럼에도 우리는 중화인민공화국의

public school curriculum,

공립학교 커리큘럼에서

they have three fairy tales by An Tu Sheng,

"안투쉉"으로 불리는 "한스 크리스티앙 안데르센"의

or Hans Christian Anderson, as we call him.

이야기 세개를 찾을 수 있었습니다.

So that means that all 1.3 billion Chinese

이는 13억 중국인들이

have grown up with "The Emperor's New Clothes,"

벌거벗은 임금님, 성냥팔이소녀, 인어공주를

"The Matchstick Girl" and "The Little Mermaid."

읽으며 자란다는 것입니다.

It's almost like a fragment of Danish culture

덴마크문화의 한 조각이

integrated into Chinese culture.

중국문화에 잘 스며든 것이지요.

The biggest tourist attraction in China is the Great Wall.

중국 최고의 관광명소는 만리장성입니다.

The Great Wall is the only thing that can be seen from the moon.

달에서 보이는 유일한 인조물이죠.

The big tourist attraction in Denmark is The Little Mermaid.

덴마크는 유명 관광명소로는 "인어공주"를 들을 수 있습니다.

That can actually hardly be seen from the canal tours.

운하투어로는 인어공주를 볼 수도 없는데 말이죠.

(Laughter)

(웃음)

And it sort of shows the difference between these two cities.

그리고 이것은 두 도시의 차이점을 보여주고 있습니다.

Copenhagen, Shanghai,

코펜하겐과 상하이,

modern, European.

현대와 유럽,

But then we looked at recent urban development,

and we noticed that this is like a Shanghai street,

30 years ago. All bikes, no cars.

This is how it looks today; all traffic jam.

Bicycles have become forbidden many places.

Meanwhile, in Copenhagen we're actually expanding the bicycle lanes.

A third of all the people commute by bike.

사람들의 1/3이 자전거로 통근하고,

We have a free system of bicycles called the City Bike

"도시자전거"란 무료대여시스템도 있습니다.

that you can borrow if you visit the city.

So we thought, why don't we reintroduce the bicycle in China?

We donate 1,000 bikes to Shanghai.

So if you come to the expo, go straight to the Danish pavilion,

get a Danish bike, and then continue on that to visit the other pavilions.

Like I said, Shanghai and Copenhagen are both port cities,

but in Copenhagen the water has gotten so clean

that you can actually swim in it.

실제로 수영을 할 수도 있죠.

One of the first projects we ever did

우리가 한 첫번째 프로젝트 중 하나가

was the harbor bath in Copenhagen,

코펜하겐의 "항만수영장" 이었습니다.

sort of continuing the public realm into the water.

공공 공간을 물안까지 확장한 것이지요.

So we thought that these expos quite often have a lot of

이런류의 엑스포들은 종종 과대한

state financed propaganda,

재정적 선전, 이미지, 허위사실을 띄게 됩니다.

images, statements, but no real experience.

전혀 실전 경험은 없지요.

So just like with a bike, we don't talk about it.

Like with the water, instead of talking about it,

we're going to sail a million liters of harbor water

so the Chinese who have the courage can actually dive in

and feel how clean it is.

This is where people normally object that it doesn't sound very sustainable

But in fact, the container ships go

full of goods from China to Denmark,

and then they sail empty back.

So quite often you load water for ballast.

So we can actually hitch a ride for free.

And in the middle of this sort of harbor bath,

we're actually going to put the actual Little Mermaid.

So the real Mermaid, the real water, and the real bikes.

진짜 "인어공주", 진짜 "물", 그리고 실제 "자전거".

And when she's gone, we're going to invite

"인어공주"가 엑스포에 간 동안에는

a Chinese artist to reinterpret her.

중국예술가의 작품을 가져올겁니다.

The architecture of the pavilion is this sort of loop

전시관의 구조는 전시물과 자전거의

of exhibition and bikes.

연속된 고리형태입니다.

When you go to the exhibition, you'll see the Mermaid and the pool.

그 전시관에서 "인어공주"와 "수영장"을 볼 수 있을겁니다.

You'll walk around, start looking for a bicycle on the roof,

주위를 걸어 지붕에서 자전거를 찾기 시작하고,

jump on your ride and then continue out into the rest of the expo.

이를 타고 엑스포의 다른 곳으로 갈 수도 있습니다.

So when we actually won the competition

우리가 이 공모에서 우승했을 때

we had to do an exhibition in China explaining the project.

프로젝트를 설명하는 전시회를 중국에서 해야했습니다.

And to our surprise we got one of our boards back

이 와중에 놀랍게도 중국당국은 검열을 통해

with corrections from the Chinese state censorship.

The first thing, the China map missed Taiwan.

It's a very serious political issue in China. We will add on.

The second thing, we had compared the swan to the dragon,

and then the Chinese state said,

"Suggest change to panda."

So, when it came out in Denmark that we were actually going to

move our national monument,

국가유물을 옮기는 것에 대한

the National People's Party sort of rebelled against it.

국민당의 반대에 부딪혔습니다.

They tried to pass a law against moving the Mermaid.

그들은 "인어공주" 반출방지법을 통과시키려 했습니다.

So for the first time, I got invited to speak at the National Parliament.

It was kind of interesting because in the morning, from 9 to 11,

they were discussing the bailout package --

But to conclude, if you want to see the Mermaid from May to December

If you do come to Copenhagen,

you will probably see an installation by Ai Weiwei, the Chinese artist.

But if the Chinese government intervenes, it might even be a panda.

So the second story that I'd like to tell

is, actually starts in my own house.

저의 집에서부터 시작됩니다.

This is my apartment.

이것이 저의 아파트입니다.

This is the view from my apartment,

이것은 제 아파트에서 본 모습이구요.

over the sort of landscape of triangular balconies

삼각형 타입의 발코니들의 전경으로

that our client called the Leonardo DiCaprio balcony.

건축주는 "레오나르도-디카프리오 발코니"라 부릅니다.

And they form this sort of vertical backyard

뒷마당에서 발코니를 봤을 때 모습입니다.

where, on a nice summer day, you'll actually get introduced to all your neighbors

여름엔 이곳에서 반경 10미터 근방에 있는

in a vertical radius of 10 meters.

여러분의 이웃을 볼 수도 있습니다.

The house is sort of a distortion of a square block.

이 집은 뒤틀린 사각 블럭들인데

Trying to zigzag it to make sure

이는 정면에서 아파트를 서로 봤을 때

that all of the apartments look at the straight views,

서로의 집안이 보이지 않게 지그재그 형태로

instead of into each other.

만들었기 때문입니다.

Until recently, this was the view from my apartment,

onto this place where our client actually bought the neighbor site.

And he said that he was going to do an apartment block

next to a parking structure.

And we thought, rather than doing a traditional stack of apartments

looking straight into a big boring block of cars,

why don't we turn all the apartments into penthouses,

put them on a podium of cars.

And because Copenhagen is completely flat,

if you want to have a nice south-facing slope with a view,

you basically have to do it yourself.

Then we sort of cut up the volume,

so we wouldn't block the view from my apartment.

And essentially the parking is sort of occupying the deep space

아파트 아래, 깊은 공간에 위치시켰습니다.

And up in the sun, you have a single layer of apartments

그리고 해가 드는 윗층에 아파트를 지었죠.

that combine all the splendors of a suburban lifestyle,

이 아파트는 교외생활의 수려함,

like a house with a garden with a sort of metropolitan view,

정원과 대도시 광경을 함께 느낄 수 있는,

and a sort of dense urban location.

밀집한 도시, 이 모든 것을 섞어 놓은 듯합니다.

This is our first architectural model.

이것이 저희의 첫번째 모델이고,

This is an aerial photo taken last summer.

지난 여름에 항공사진으로 찍은 모습입니다.

And essentially, the apartments cover the parking.

기본적으로 아파트가 주자창을 덮고 있습니다.

They are accessed through this diagonal elevator.

이 건물에서 이동은 "사선 엘리베이터"를 타면 됩니다.

It's actually a stand-up product from Switzerland,

이는 사실 스위스의 명물로부터 떠올린겁니다.

because in Switzerland they have a natural need for diagonal elevators.

스위스에선 "사선 엘리베이터" 가 자연적 필수요소이니깐요.

(Laughter)

And the facade of the parking,

주차장의 정면을 보죠.

we wanted to make the parking naturally ventilated,

우리는 정면을 통해 자연환기가 되길 바랬습니다.

so we needed to perforate it.

그래서 환기구를 뚫었죠.

And we discovered that by controlling the size of the holes,

환기구를 뚫다가보니, 그 반경을 조정하면

we could actually turn the entire facade

자연적인 환기도 가능하고,

into a gigantic, naturally ventilated,

거대한 점층 이미지로 꾸며진 주차장 전면을

rasterized image.

만들수 있단 걸 깨달았습니다.

And since we always refer to the project as The Mountain,

당시 이 프로젝트를 "산" 이라 불렀기에

we commissioned this Japanese Himalaya photographer

일본의 히말라야 전문 사진작가에게

to give us this beautiful photo of Mount Everest,

아름다운 에베레스트 산의 사진을 요청하여

making the entire building a 3,000 square meter artwork.

빌딩을 3,000평방미터 크기의 예술품으로 만들었죠.

So if you go back into the parking, into the corridors,

여러분들이 통로를 지나 주차장으로 들어가면

it's almost like traveling into a parallel universe

차와 여러 색상들 때문에 마치 평행우주를

from cars and colors,

여행하는 것 같으실 겁니다.

into this sort of south-facing urban oasis.

마치 도심의 오아시스 같을 겁니다.

The wood of your apartment continues outside becoming the facades.

아파트 나무들도 계속자라 아파트 전면을 장식할 수 있습니다.

If you go even further, it turns into this green garden.

그리고 좀 더 바라본다면 녹색정원으로 변할 수도 있겠죠.

And all the rainwater that drops on the Mountain

이 "산"위로 내린 빗물들이

is actually accumulated.

모아지고,

And there is an automatic irrigation system

정원에 물을 자동으로 공급하는 시스템이 있다면

that makes sure that this sort of landscape of gardens,

지금 이 정원의 전경이

in one or two years it will sort of transform

1~2년 이내에

into a Cambodian temple ruin,

캄보디아의 오래된 사원처럼

completely covered in green.

녹지로 뒤덮힐지도 모릅니다.

So, the Mountain is like our first built example

이 프로젝트 "산"은 건축의 신비라 말할 수 있는

of what we like to refer to as architectural alchemy.

우리의 첫번째 실물이 되었습니다.

This idea that you can actually create, if not gold,

아파트나 주차장 같은 전통적인 구성요소에

then at least added value by mixing

누구나 생각할 수 있는 가치를 추가하는 것은

traditional ingredients, like normal apartments

누구나 창조할 수 있는 낼 수 있는

and normal parking,

아이디어입니다.

and in this case actually offer people

이 아이디어가 사람들에게

the chance that they don't have to choose between

도시생활과 정원 딸린 삶을 함께 영위할 수 있는

a life with a garden or a life in the city.

기회를 제공했습니다.

They can actually have both.

누구나 둘을 함께 지닐수 있습니다.

As an architect, it's really hard to set the agenda.

건축가로써 의제를 정하는게 매우 어렵습니다.

You can't just say that now I'd like to do a sustainable city

누구도 중앙아시아에 친환경적인 도시를

in central Asia,

만들자고 하지 않을 겁니다.

because that's not really how you get commissions.

어떻게 요청을 받을 수 있을지 전혀 알 수 없거든요.

You always have to sort of adapt and improvise

하지만 우리는 실세계의 혼돈과

to the opportunities and accidents that happen,

사건사고, 그리고 기회에 대응하기 위해

and the sort of turmoil of the world.

"순응과 즉흥" 력을 지녀야합니다.

One last example is that recently we,

마지막 이야기는 작년 여름,

like last summer, we won the competition

노르웨이 국립은행의 디자인경쟁에서

to design a Nordic national bank.

우승했던 디자인에서 시작합니다.

This was the director of the bank when he was still smiling.

이때까지만 해도 은행장은 웃을 수 있었죠.

(Laughter)

It was in the middle of the capital so we were really excited by this opportunity.

은행이 수도 중심부에 있었기에 우리는 매우 흥분했었지만,

Unfortunately, it was the national bank of Iceland.

불행히 이 디자인도 결국 아이슬랜드 국립은행처럼 이루어지지 못했습니다.

At the same time, we actually had a visitor --

이 시기에 우리는 우리 사무실에서

a minister from Azerbaijan came to our office.

아제르바이젠의 장관을 맞이할 일이 있었습니다.

We took him to see the Mountain. And he got very excited

그는 우리의 프로젝트 "산"을 보고

by this idea that you could actually make mountains

건축을 넘어 실제 산을 만든다는 이 아이디어에

out of architecture,

큰 관심을 보였습니다.

because Azerbaijan is known as the Alps of Central Asia.

아제르바이젠 역시 중앙아시아의 알프스로 유명하기 때문이죠.

So he asked us if we could actually imagine

그는 아제르바이젠에서 널리 알려진

an urban master plan

7개의 산 모습을 이용해

on an island outside the capital

외곽지에 있는 섬의

that would recreate the silhouette of the seven most significant mountains

도심 마스터플랜을 만들어 줄 수 있는지

of Azerbaijan.

문의했습니다.

So we took the commission.

결국 우리는 요청을 받았죠.

And we made this small movie that I'd like to show.

그리고 지금부터 보여드릴 짧은 영화를 만들었습니다.

We quite often make little movies.

저희는 종종 짧은 영화를 만들곤합니다.

We always argue a lot about the soundtrack,

이때 종종 영화 음악때문에 논쟁이 발생하기도 하는데

but in this case it was really easy to choose the song.

이때는 선곡하는 것이 정말 간단했습니다.

So basically, Baku is this sort of crescent bay

기본적으로 "바쿠"는 초승달 모양의 해변이고

overlooking the island of Zira, the island that we are planning --

우리가 계획한 섬, "지라"가 바라보이는 곳입니다.

almost like the diagram of their flag.

아제르바이젠 국기 모양이죠.

And our main idea was

우리의 주 아이디어는

to sort of sample the seven most significant mountains

먼저 아제르바이젠 각 지역에 있는

of the topography of Azerbaijan

유명산 7개를 모형화하고,

and reinterpret them into urban and architectural structures,

그후 그 산들의 모형을 도시적이고 건축적이며

inhabitable of human life.

살기 편한 환경으로 재해석하고,

Then we place these mountains on the island,

녹지계곡을 중심으로 섬의 곳곳에

surrounding this sort of central green valley,

산들을 배치하는 것이 였습니다.

almost like a central park.

센트럴파크와 유사합니다.

And what makes it interesting is that the island right now

이 프로젝트를 흥미롭게 만드는 것중 하나는 이 섬이

is just a piece of desert. It has no vegetation.

식물이 전혀없는 사막이란 것입니다.

It has no water. It has no energy, no resources.

물도, 에너지도, 자원도 젼혀 없습니다.

So we actually sort of designed the entire island as a single ecosystem,

그래서 우리는 섬 전체를 단일 생태계로 설계했습니다.

exploiting wind energy to drive the desalination plants,

풍력에너지를 이용해 담수화플랜트를 운영하고,

and to use the thermal properties of water

물의 열속성을 이용해 건물의 온도를

to heat and cool the buildings.

조절할 수 있게 했습니다.

And all the sort of excess freshwater wastewater

초과로 생산된 풍부한 깨끗한 물들은

is filtered organically into the landscape,

땅속으로 유기적으로 스며들여

gradually transforming the desert island

사막섬이었던 그곳을 점차적으로

into sort of a green, lush landscape.

비옥한 녹지로 탈바꿈 시킬 것입니다.

So, you can say where an urban development

보통 도시를 개발한다는 것은

normally happens at the expense of nature,

자연을 이용하고 소비하는 행위죠

in this case it's actually creating nature.

그런데 우리 프로젝트는 아예 자연을 재창조했습니다.

And the buildings, they don't only sort of

각각 건축물들도 단순히 산의 모습만을

invoke the imagery of the mountains,

흉내낸 것이 아니라

they also operate like mountains.

진짜 산처럼 행동할 수 있습니다.

They create shelter from the wind.

그들은 바람 피할 자리를 만들어 줄 것이고,

They accumulate the solar energy.

태양 에너지를 모아주기도하고,

They accumulate the water.

물을 수집하기도 할 것입니다.

So they actually transform the entire island

결국 이 건축물들이 전체 섬을

into a single ecosystem.

단일생태계로 변화시킬 것 입니다.

So we recently presented the master plan,

우리는 최근에 이 마스터플랜을 발표했습니다.

and it has gotten approved.

그리고 허가를 받았습니다.

And this summer we are starting the construction documents

이번 여름부터 2개의 "산"에 대한

of the two first mountains,

시공도면을 작성 할 예정입니다.

in what's going to be the first carbon-neutral island

아마 이 산들 덕분에 중앙아시아에서의

in Central Asia.

첫번째 "탄소-중립"섬이 탄생할 것입니다.

So in a way you can see how the Mountain in Copenhagen

여러분들은 코펜하겐에서의 프로젝트 "산"이 어떻게

sort of evolved into the Seven Peaks of Azerbaijan.

아제르바이젠의 일곱봉우리로 진화했는지 보셨을 겁니다.

With a little luck and some more evolution,

약간의 행운과 몇몇 진화들만 더 보태진다면,

maybe in 10 years it could be the Five Mountains on Mars.

10년 내에는 화성의 5대산도 만들 수 있을 겁니다.
