Let's imagine a sculptor building a statue,

When I was a graduate student,

There were scientific breakthroughs happening all the time.

We've learned a lot.

We were never able to translate that science into new technologies --

And the reason is, these nanomaterials --

The same thing that makes them so interesting --

And we just don't have the tools that are small enough to work with them.

But even if we did, it wouldn't really matter,

At this point, we said, "Let's just stop.
