As dawn breaks over a moveable city of ten thousand yurts,

Although she’s the formidable khatun of the Golden Horde,

a huge kingdom in the Mongolian Empire,

Boraqchin has a hands-on approach to ruling.

She’s been married to Batu Khan,

the fearsome grandson of Genghis Khan himself,

Today is moving day,

and she’ll have to direct throngs of her ladies, commanders, slaves and animals

အမျိုးသမီးတွေ၊ တပ်မှူးတွေ၊ ကျွန်တွေနဲ တိရစ္ဆာန်အုပ်စုတွေကို နွေရာသီအတွက်

up the river Volga for the summer.

As Boraqchin steps outside,

Boraqchin orders them to get it under control –

Next, Boraqchin and her woolly companion meet with the guards.

She orders them to keep close watch on her husband's special reception yurt

and port-able throne during the journey.

They’ll also act as outriders,

and she tells them how to secure the route, surround her for safety –

But when the sheep finally breaks free and makes for the fields,

the guards can barely keep up

အစောင့်တွေ ထိန်းနိုင်ခဲလှပါတယ်၊

as it scampers through crowds packing up their yurts.

သိုးက လူအုပ်တွေထဲ ခုန်ပေါက်ပြီး ရွက်ဖျင်တဲတွေကို ဖျက်နေတာကိုး။

Exasperated, Boraqchin rides down to the pastures herself.

စိတ်တိုနေတဲ့ Boraqchin ဟာ သူကိုယ်တိုင် စားကျက်တွဆီ မြင်းစီးထွက်သွားတယ်။

When she gets there,

သူအဲဒီရောက်တဲ့အခါ

she catches sight of the troublesome sheep wriggling into the middle of a flock.

အုပ်စုတစ်စုမှာ လူးလွန့်နေတဲ့ ဒုက္ခပေးတဲ့သိုးကို ရိပ်ကနဲ့မြင်တယ်။

When she follows him in,

he’s nestled next to a ewe, his mother.

She’s pregnant, and seems to be in pain.

သိုးမက ဇီးကပ်နေပြီး နာကျင်နေပုံရတယ်။

With a start, Boraqchin realizes that this ewe’s impending delivery

အစမှာပဲ Boraqchin နာလည်လိုက်တာက ဒီသိုးမဟာ သားမွေးတော့မှာဖြစ်ပြီး

has been forgotten in the flurry of moving day.

ရွေ့ပြောင်းတဲ့နေ့ရဲ့ ပြာယာခတ်မှုထဲမှာ အမေ့ခံရတယ်ဆိုတာပါ။

There’s no time to find a shepherd –

သိုးထိန်းကို ရှာဖို့ အချိန်ကမရှိဘူး။

instead, Boraqchin rolls up her sleeves, greases her arm

ဒီအစား Boraqchin ဟာ လက်ကိုခေါက်တင်ပြီး သူ့လက်မောင်းကို ဆီဆွတ်ကာ

and helps the ewe give birth to two new additions to the empire.

Leaving the lambs and their mother,

Boraqchin dashes back to the camp.

Here the final touches have been put to packing,

and vehicles are starting to line up.

This vast procession starts with the queen

and two hundred wagons filled with her treasures.

Next up are the junior wives and crew,

နောက်မှာတော့ အငယ်တန်း ဇနီးတွေနဲ့ အဖွဲ့၊

then the concubines –

ဒီနောက် ကိုယ်လုပ်တော်တွေပါ။

and this is only Boraqchin's camp.

ဒါက Boraqchin ရဲ့ စခန်းပဲရှိပါသေးတယ်။

After this comes the second imperial camp

ဒီနောက်မှာ ဒုတိယ အင်ပါယာနဲ့ဆိုင်တဲ့ စခန်း၊

led by another senior wife,

နောက်ထပ် အကြီးတန်း ဇနီးက ဦးဆောင်တယ်။

then two more camps, also led by wives.

ဒီနောက်မှာ နောက်ထပ်စခန်းနှစ်ခု၊ ဇနီးတွေကပဲ ဦးဆောင်တာပါ။

Boraqchin has been checking in with them for weeks to ensure

Boraqchin ဟာ ချောမွေတဲ့ ထွက်ခွာမှုနဲ့ သေဝပ်တဲ့ အတန်းဆိုတာ

a smooth departure and orderly queue.

သေချာေစဖို့ သီတင်းပတ်ချီကာ မပြတ်စစ်ဆေးနေတာပါ။

But they only make up the royal portion of the line –

ဒါပေမဲ့ သူတို့ဟာ အတန်းရဲ့ တော်ဝင် အပိုင်းသာ ပါဝင်ပြီး

behind them winds the entire civilian city,

သူတို့နောက်မှာတော့ သယ်လို့ရတဲ့ ဝတ်ပြုဆောင်တွေ၊

which includes holy men with portable chapels and mosques,

ဗလီတွေနဲ့ ဘာသာရေးဆရာတွေ၊ မိသားစုတွေ၊ ကုန်သည်တွေ၊

families, tradesmen, and shepherds.

သိုးကျောင်းသားတွေ ပါဝင်တဲ့ အရပ်သားတစ်မြို့လုံးဝန်းရံနေပါတယ်၊

Finally, Boraqchin settles into her wagon.

နောက်ဆုံးမှာ Boraqchin ဟာ သူ့လှည်းထဲမှာ နေရာယူလိုက်တယ်။

It’ll take weeks to reach their destination –

သူတို့ရဲ့ခရီးဆုံးရောက်ဖို့ သီတင်းပတ်ချီကြာပေမဲ့

but over the course of the journey,

ခရီးတစ်လျှောက်လုံးမှာ

she’ll keep everyone expertly in check –

လူတိုင်းကို အသေအချာ မပြတ်စစ်ဆေးပါလိမ့်မယ်၊

from her proud children and attentive subjects,

ဂုဏ်ယူဖွယ် ကလေးတွေ၊ အာရုံစိုက်ရတဲ့ လက်အောက်ငယ်သားတွေကနေ

to the most meandering sheep at the back of line.
