မင်္ဂလာပါ ငါ့နာမည် Fanni ပါ။

ဆက်သွယ်ရေးပြဿနာများအကြောင်း ဤစီးရီးမှကြိုဆိုပါသည်။

And in this video, I'm gonna talk to you about the importance of pronunciation in English.

ပြီးတော့ ဒီဗီဒီယိုမှာ

အင်္ဂလိပ်လို အသံထွက်ခြင်းရဲ့ အရေးပါပုံကို

ပြောပြပါမယ် ။ အထူးသဖြင့် ရှည်လျားသောအသံ

Especially the difference between long sounds and short sounds.

နှင့် တိုတိုအသံ

ကြား ကွာခြားချက် ။ အဘယ်ကြောင့်?

Why? Because in English there are a lot of words that are almost the same except

ဘာကြောင့်လဲ ဆိုတော့ အင်္ဂလိပ်လို

ရှည်လျားတဲ့ အသံက

တိုတဲ့ အသံ ကလွဲလို့ တူညီတဲ့

စကားလုံးတွေ အများကြီး ရှိလို့ပါပဲ

that one has a long sound one has a short sound.

။

And they have completely different meaning.

ပြီးတော့ သူတို့မှာ အဓိပ္ပါယ် လုံးဝကွဲပြားတယ်။

...you know... depending on the length of the sound.

မင်းသိလား... အသံရဲ့အလျားပေါ်မူတည်တယ်။

So let me just give you a simple example.

ဒီတော့ ရိုးရှင်းတဲ့ ဥပမာတစ်ခု ပေးပါရစေ။

If you say, "beach".

“ကမ်းခြေ” လို့ ပြောရင် ရပါတယ်။

You know what a beach is right?

ကမ်းခြေဆိုတာ ဘာလဲ သိလား။

You go on holiday. You like going to the beach.

မင်းအားလပ်ရက်မှာသွား။

ကမ်းခြေသွားရတာကြိုက်လား။

And does not have the same meaning as b!tch.

b!tch နှင့် တူညီသော အဓိပ္ပါယ် မရှိပါ။

And you know forgive me for saying the word but and...

ပြီးတော့ ဒီစကားလုံးကို ပြောမိတဲ့အတွက် ခွင့်လွှတ်တယ်ဆိုတာ မင်းသိပါတယ် ဒါပေမယ့်

... အဲဒါက အဓိပ္ပါယ်မတူပါဘူး။

It doesn't have the same meaning.

And it's actually a very rude word, so you should be very careful.

တကယ်တော့ ဒါဟာ အလွန်ရိုင်းစိုင်းတဲ့ စကားလုံး

ဖြစ်လို့ သတိထားသင့်ပါတယ်။

And... I have a story about that which is quite funny.

ပြီးတော့... ကျွန်မမှာ ရယ်စရာကောင်းတဲ့ ပုံပြင်တစ်ပုဒ်ရှိတယ်။

It wasn't funny at the time but now it's funny actually.

အဲဒီတုန်းက ရယ်စရာမဟုတ်ပေမယ့

် အခုတော့ တကယ်ကို ရယ်စရာကောင်းပါတယ်။

And when I taught English in France,

ပြင်သစ်မှာ အင်္ဂလိပ်စာ သင်ပေးတုန်းက

I had a student once in my classroom,

စာသင်ခန်းထဲမှာ ကျောင်းသားတစ်ယောက်ရှိခဲ့တယ်၊

And you know I was explaining ..ummm.. I think you know some grammar or something

ငါရှင်းပြနေတာ မင်းသိလား.. ummm..

သဒ္ဒါနည်းနည်းလောက်တော့ သိတယ်ထင်တယ်..

And he was clearly distracted.

သူ ရှင်းရှင်းလင်းလင်း အာရုံပြောင်းသွားတယ်။

So I got really angry and I said, "Hey! What are you doing?"

ဒါနဲ့ ကျွန်တော် အရမ်းဒေါသထွက်သွားပြီး

"ဟေး ဘာလုပ်နေတာလဲ"

And he said, "Oh oh madam I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm searching my sh!t."

တောင်းပန်ပါတယ် ဆရာမ တောင်းပန်ပါတယ် တောင်းပန်ပါတယ် ကျွန်မရဲ့ sh!t လိုက်ရှာနေတယ်

လို့ပြောပါတယ်။

Umm... so two mistakes.

အမ်... အမှားနှစ်ခု။

First mistake - he forgot the preposition 'for'.

ပထမအမှား - သူသည် ဝိဘတ် 'for' ကို မေ့သွားသည်။

Ok. So 'search for'.

အိုကေတယ်နော်။ ဒါကြောင့် 'ရှာ' တယ်။

But that's ok.

ဒါပမေဲ့။

I understand that.

ကျွန်တော်နားလည်ပါတယ်။

But he said, "sh!t".

ဒါပေမယ့် သူက "sh!t" တဲ့။

And he actually meant 'sheet'.

တကယ်တော့ သူက 'စာရွက်' လို့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရပါတယ်။

- for you know a piece of paper.

စာရွက်တစ်ရွက်ကို မင်းသိလို့လား။

I didn't get it. And I got really angry, you know.

နားမလည်ဘူး။

ပြီးတော့ ငါတကယ် စိတ်ဆိုးသွားတယ် မင်းသိလား။

And he didn't understand why I was getting angry.

ပြီးတော့ ငါဘာလို့ ဒေါသထွက်နေတာလဲ သူနားမလည်ဘူး။

And I said, "You can't say that word," you know.

ပြီးတော့ ငါက "မင်း ဒီစကား မပြောနိုင်ဘူး" လို့ မင်းသိတယ်။

And what does he even mean? "Searching your sh!t."

ပြီးတော့ သူက ဘာကိုဆိုလိုတာလဲ။

"မင်းရဲ့ sh!t ကို ရှာနေတာ။"

I mean that's getting really weird.

ဆိုလိုတာက အဲဒါက တကယ်ကို ထူးဆန်းနေတယ်။

And and so then he understand he was like, "No, no, no."

ပြီးတော့ သူက “မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ မဟုတ်ဘူး” လို့ နားလည်သွားတယ်။

I mean, you know, he showed me a piece of paper.

ဆိုလိုတာက စာရွက်တစ်ရွက်ပြတယ်။

As I said, "That's not 'sh!t', that's 'sheet'. Okay.

ငါပြောသလိုပဲ "ဒါ 'sh!t' မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ ဒါ 'စာရွက်' ပဲ၊ ဟုတ်ပြီ၊ ဟုတ်ပြီ၊

So yeah I think he got really stressed out because he didn't know why I was getting angry.

ငါဘာလို့စိတ်ဆိုးရ မှန်းကိုမသိတဲ့ အတွက်

သူတကယ်စိတ်ဖိစီးသွားတယ်ထင်တယ်

And I didn't know what he was talking about.

၊ အဲဒါကို ပြောနေတာ

So I think you should really - you should be careful.

တကယ်ကို သတိထားသင့်တယ်

Because you know, - long sound, short sound -

၊ အသံရှည် ၊ အသံတို လို့ ပြောရမယ်ဆိုရင် တခါတရံမှာ

It's sometimes it's a different word with a completely different meaning.

အဓိပ္ပါယ် လုံးဝ ကွဲပြားတဲ့

စကားလုံး တွေ ဖြစ်နေလို့ပါ

And if the word that you're saying is rude, is rude, then, you know, it's quite annoying.

ပဲ။ ရိုင်းတယ်

ဆိုတော့

So just be careful, okay?

စိတ်အနှောက်အယှက်ဖြစ်တယ်ဆိုတာ မင်းသိလား
