The concentration of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere

Here's where the soil comes in:

Soils around the world are experiencing unprecedented rates of degradation

Soil degradation is bad for many reasons,

This is a story of soils at high latitudes.

Peatlands in polar environments

store about a third of the global soil carbon reserves.
