Dickinson 首詩 《由於冇辦法停低死亡 》：

由於冇辦法停低死亡， 只係佢停低、好心等我。

Because I could not stop for Death – He kindly stopped for me –

The Carriage held but just Ourselves – And Immortality.

馬車上，除咗我哋，仲有永生。

We slowly drove – He knew no haste And I had put away

佢完全唔趕， 我哋慢慢向前。

我為咗尊重佢， 拋低咗塵世上、工作同休閒。

My labor and my leisure too, For His Civility –

We passed the School, where Children strove

經過學校，細路要努力嘅地方。

At Recess – in the Ring – We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –

小息到喇﹗佢哋圍圈玩耍。

經過咗凝望我哋嘅麥田，

We passed the Setting Sun –

經過咗落山嘅太陽，

Or rather – He passed Us – The Dews drew quivering and Chill –

唔係，係太陽經過我哋喎﹗

晨露帶嚟顫抖同寒意，

For only Gossamer, my Gown – My Tippet – only Tulle –

我只穿著輕絲嘅睡袍， 同薄紗嘅披肩。

We paused before a House that seemed A Swelling of the Ground –

我哋停低喺、似係從地面隆起嘅屋前面，

The Roof was scarcely visible – The Cornice – in the Ground –

幾乎睇唔到屋頂， 屋簷係埋喺泥土裏面。

Since then – 'tis Centuries – and yet Feels shorter than the Day

嗰時起，經歷咗幾個世紀， 仲感覺短過白晝。

I first surmised the Horses' Heads Were toward Eternity –
