Nice to MEET You | Nice to SEE you | Learn Basic English Speaking Expressions

And right now I’m gonna explain  to you about a speaking problem 

现在我要向您解释一个

that I have seen and heard far too many times since I came to Korea. 

自从我来韩国以来我已经多次看到和听到的口语问题。

Now, it's very easy phrase. The simple phrase, “Nice to meet you.” 

现在，这是非常简单的短语。简单的一句话，“很高兴认识你”。

You probably know it. You’ve probably said it. 

你可能知道。你可能已经说过了。

But the problem is so many Korean people don’t 

但问题是很多韩国人不明白

understand when to really use  the phrase “Nice to meet you.” 

什么时候该真正使用“很高兴见到你”这句话。

Because when you meet somebody new that means you told them your name. 

因为当你遇到新朋友时，这意味着你告诉了他们你的名字。

They told you their name. Many times I’m just walking down the street, 

他们告诉你他们的名字。很多时候我只是走在街上，

you know, I’m shopping or something and then a Korean person says,

你知道，我正在购物或做其他事情，然后一个韩国人说：

“Hi, nice to meet you.” And I think …

“嗨，很高兴见到你。”我想……

I don’t know your name. I didn’t tell you my name.

我不知道你的名字。我没有告诉你我的名字。

We didn’t meet. How could it be nice? 

我们没有见面。怎么可能会好看呢？

So, you look at the board right here, 

所以，你看看这里的黑板，

This. Here I am Bill "hi". 

这个。我是比尔“嗨”。

Korean person "Nice to meet you."

韩国人“很高兴认识你。”

There is no "Hi, my name's Bill."

没有“嗨，我叫比尔”。

“My name is Han, nice to meet you.”

“我叫韩，很高兴认识你。”

There’s not that.

没有那个啊

Just Bill says, "hi."

只是比尔说：“嗨。”

Korean person says, "Nice to meet you."

韩国人说：“很高兴认识你。”

But we didn't meet each other.

但我们并没有见面。

You don’t know my name. I don’t know your name! 

你不知道我的名字。我不知道你的名字！

Don't be that guy. Okay? 

不要成为那样的人。好的？

The proper way to do this now. Here is a sample dialog where you use the  

现在执行此操作的正确方法。这是一个示例对话框，您可以在

easy phrase “Nice to meet you” properly.

其中正确使用简单的短语“很高兴见到你”。

It goes like this.

事情是这样的。

Bill oh that's me.

比尔哦，那是我。

Bill says "Hi".

比尔说“嗨”。

And then the Korean person says. "Hello, my name is Han."

然后韩国人说。 “你好，我叫韩。”

"Oh! My name is Bill."

“哦！我叫比尔。”

Maybe we shake hands

也许我们握手

"Nice to meet you." Yes! 

“很高兴认识你”。是的！

Because you did meet me.

因为你确实遇见了我。

And then after one more I say,

然后我又说了一遍：

"Nice to meet you, too."

“我也很高兴见到你。”

because you met me, I met you.

因为你遇见了我，我也遇见了你。

You said your name. I said my name. 

你说了你的名字。我说了我的名字。

If you didn’t learn the new person's name, and you didn’t tell them yours, 

如果你不知道新朋友的名字，也没有告诉他们你的名字，那么

you didn’t meet them. So, it can’t be "Nice to meet you." 

你就没有见过他们。所以，它不能是“很高兴认识你”。

Ok, remember that.

好吧，记住这一点。

Exchange names - then “Nice to meet you.”

交换名字——然后说“很高兴认识你”。

Don’t just say "Hi, nice to meet you." Because you didn’t meet me yet.

不要只是说“嗨，很高兴认识你”。因为你还没有遇见我。

Now, two phrases here. Now, the first one is

“Nice to meet you.” That's an easy phrase

that many Korean people know.

But I just want to remind you, we use “Nice to meet you”

when you  meet a new person for the first time.

当你第一次见到一个新朋友时， 我们会用“很高兴见到你”

Okay? Something like, “Hello, my name is John.” 

。 好的？比如，“你好，我叫约翰。”

“Hello, my name is Tom.” “Nice to meet you.” 

“你好，我叫汤姆。” “很高兴见到你。”

“Nice to meet you, too.”

“我也很高兴见到你。”

You tell someone your name.

你告诉别人你的名字。

They tell you their name.

他们告诉你他们的名字。

“Nice to meet you.”

“很高兴见到你。”

Because you learned each other's names.

因为你们知道了彼此的名字。

That's when you say, “Nice to meet you.”

那时你会说：“很高兴认识你。”

Now, you need to remember that  you only say “Nice to meet you”

现在，你需要记住，你只在

the first time you meet that person. Okay? 

第一次见到那个人时说“很高兴见到你”。好的？

If you see them again, two days later, don't say, “Hi, nice to meet you.” 

如果两天后你再次见到他们，不要说：“嗨，很高兴见到你。”

because it's not your first meeting anymore. Okay? 

因为这已经不是你们的第一次见面了。好的？

Some of my students I've been teaching  them for over a month right now, 

我的一些学生现在已经教了一个多月了，

but I still walk into the classroom and they're like, “Bill, nice to meet you.” 

但我仍然走进教室，他们会说：“比尔，很高兴见到你。”

And I just think to myself, “You see me every day  and we've we met each other a long time ago.” 

我只是对自己说：“你每天都看到我，我们很久以前就见过面了。”

Now, if it's not the first  time you're meeting someone, 

现在，如果这不是你第一次见到某人，

if it's someone you're seeing again,

如果这是你再次见到的人，

“Nice to see you.”

“很高兴见到你。”

Okay?

好的？

It's not “Nice to meet you.” You don't say “Nice to meet you” to  your friends who you see many times.

这不是“很高兴认识你”。你不会对你见过很多次的朋友说“很高兴见到你”。

Alright? But if you see your friends on the weekend, 

好吧？但如果你周末见到你的朋友，

“Nice to see you”

“很高兴见到你”，

because “Nice to meet you.”

因为“很高兴见到你”。

You only get to do that once.

你只能这样做一次。

That's the first time you meet a new person.

这是你第一次认识一个新人。

For your friends, and other people, always “Nice to see you.”

对于你的朋友和其他人，总是“很高兴见到你”。
