6 Common Informal Contractions in Spoken English | kinda sorta outta alotta lotsa cuppa

In today's video, I’m going  to be telling you about some  

আজকের ভিডিওতে, আমি আপনাকে 'অফ' শব্দটি সহ

informal contractions including the word ‘of’. 

কিছু অনানুষ্ঠানিক সংকোচন সম্পর্কে বলতে যাচ্ছি ।

Now, it's important to remember that these  types of contractions are just for conversation. 

এখন, এটা মনে রাখা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ যে এই ধরনের সংকোচন শুধুমাত্র কথোপকথনের জন্য।

You don't want to use them in writing. So pay close attention. 

আপনি লিখিতভাবে তাদের ব্যবহার করতে চান না. তাই গভীর মনোযোগ দিন।

And if you memorize how to say these  contractions, you’re gonna start sounding  

এবং আপনি যদি এই সংকোচনগুলি কীভাবে বলতে হয় তা মুখস্ত করে রাখেন, আপনি

just like a native speaker.

একজন নেটিভ স্পিকারের মতো শব্দ করতে শুরু করবেন।

Let’s take a look.

Alright, let’s take a look at my list of  common contractions including the word ‘of’. 

ঠিক আছে, আসুন 'অফ' শব্দটি সহ আমার সাধারণ সংকোচনের তালিকাটি একবার দেখে নেওয়া যাক।

Now, in this list, instead of saying  ‘of’,

এখন, এই তালিকায়, 'of' বলার পরিবর্তে,

we're going to use the ‘schwa’ sound, the kind of ‘uh’ sound  to make these contractions. 

আমরা 'schwa' শব্দ ব্যবহার করতে যাচ্ছি, এই ধরনের সংকোচনের জন্য 'উহ' শব্দ।

I have six examples. I’ll say each of them twice. 

আমার ছয়টি উদাহরণ আছে। আমি তাদের প্রত্যেককে দুবার বলব।

The first time, I’ll say it slowly.

প্রথমবার, ধীরে ধীরে বলব।

The second time, I’ll say it at  a normal speed like a native speaker.

দ্বিতীয়বার, আমি এটি একটি নেটিভ স্পিকারের মতো স্বাভাবিক গতিতে বলব।

It's really important that you repeat after me out loud each time.

এটা সত্যিই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ যে আপনি প্রতিবার উচ্চস্বরে আমার পরে পুনরাবৃত্তি করুন।

Here we go.

Okay, first one. ‘kind of’ = ‘kinda’ 

ঠিক আছে, প্রথম এক. 'kind of' = 'কাইন্ড'

‘She's kinda cute.’ ‘She's kinda cute.’ 

'সে কিউট কিউট।' 'সে কিউট কিউট।'

Next. ‘sort of’ = ‘sorta’ ‘I’m sorta tired’ 

পরবর্তী. 'sorta' = 'sorta' 'আমি একরকম ক্লান্ত'

‘I’m sorta tired’ 

'আমি ক্লান্ত'

‘out of’ = ‘outta’ ‘I’m outta money.’ 

'out of' = 'outta' 'আমি অর্থের বাইরে আছি।'

‘I’m outta money.’ ‘a lot of’ = ‘alotta’ 

'আমার কাছে টাকা নেই।' 'a lot of' = 'alotta'

‘They ate alotta cake.’ ‘They ate alotta cake.’ 

'তারা alotta কেক খেয়েছে।' 'ওরা আলোটা কেক খেয়েছে।'

‘lots of’ = ‘lotsa’ ‘He has lotsa money.’ 

'lots of' = 'lotsa' 'তার অনেক টাকা আছে।'

‘He has lotsa money.’ 

'তার অনেক টাকা আছে।'

Last one. ‘cup of’ = ‘cuppa’ 

সর্বশেষ. 'cup of' = 'কাপা'

‘Would you like a cuppa coffee?’ ‘Would you like a cuppa coffee?’ 

'আপনি কি একটি কাপ কফি খেতে চান?' 'আপনি কি এক কাপ কফি খেতে চান?'

Did you guys hear that schwa that ‘uh’ sound?

আপনি বলছি যে schwa যে 'উহ' শব্দ শুনেছেন?

Alright, great job. Let's move on.

ঠিক আছে, মহান কাজ. চল এগোই.

All right, let's take a look at a few dialogues.

ঠিক আছে, আসুন কয়েকটি সংলাপ দেখে নেওয়া যাক।

And really pay close attention to these because I promise if you do it's going to  help you master these contractions. 

এবং সত্যিই এইগুলির প্রতি গভীর মনোযোগ দিন কারণ আমি প্রতিশ্রুতি দিচ্ছি যদি আপনি এটি করেন তবে এটি আপনাকে এই সংকোচনগুলি আয়ত্ত করতে সহায়তা করবে।

Conversation 1. Which of these can be made into contractions?

Yes, these ones. “Buy me a cuppa coffee.” 

হ্যাঁ, এই বেশী. "আমাকে এক কাপ কফি কিনে দাও।"

“Sorry. I’m outta money.” 

"দুঃখিত. আমার টাকা শেষ।"

Conversation 2. Which of these can be made into contractions? 

কথোপকথন 2. এগুলোর মধ্যে কোনটি সংকোচনে পরিণত হতে পারে?

Yes, these ones. “It's getting kinda hot.” 

হ্যাঁ, এই বেশী. "এটা একটু গরম হচ্ছে।"

“Yes, we need to drink alotta water.” 

"হ্যাঁ, আমাদের প্রচুর পানি পান করতে হবে।"

Conversation 3. Which of these can be made into contractions? 

কথোপকথন 3. এর মধ্যে কোনটি সংকোচন করা যায়?

Yes, these ones. “I’m sorta tired.” 

হ্যাঁ, এই বেশী. "আমি কিছুটা ক্লান্ত।"

“Go home and get lotsa rest.” 

"বাড়ি গিয়ে অনেক বিশ্রাম নাও।"
