6 Common Informal Contractions in Spoken English | kinda sorta outta alotta lotsa cuppa

In today's video, I’m going  to be telling you about some  

'of'라는 단어를 포함한 비격식적인 수축형

informal contractions including the word ‘of’. 

에 대해 말씀드리겠습니다 .

Now, it's important to remember that these  types of contractions are just for conversation. 

이제 이러한 유형의 수축은 단지 대화를 위한 것임을 기억하는 것이 중요합니다.

You don't want to use them in writing. So pay close attention. 

서면으로 사용하고 싶지 않습니다. 그러므로 세심한 주의를 기울이십시오.

And if you memorize how to say these  contractions, you’re gonna start sounding  

그리고 이러한 수축을 말하는 방법을 외우면

just like a native speaker.

원어민처럼 들리기 시작할 것입니다.

Let’s take a look.

Alright, let’s take a look at my list of  common contractions including the word ‘of’. 

좋아요, 'of'라는 단어를 포함한 일반적인 축약형 목록을 살펴보겠습니다.

Now, in this list, instead of saying  ‘of’,

이제 이 목록에서는 'of'라고 말하는 대신

we're going to use the ‘schwa’ sound, the kind of ‘uh’ sound  to make these contractions. 

'uh' 소리와 같은 'schwa' 소리를 사용하여 수축을 만들어 보겠습니다.

I have six examples. I’ll say each of them twice. 

여섯 가지 예가 있습니다. 각각 두 번씩 말하겠습니다.

The first time, I’ll say it slowly.

처음에는 천천히 말씀드리겠습니다.

The second time, I’ll say it at  a normal speed like a native speaker.

두 번째에는 원어민처럼 보통 속도로 말하겠습니다.

It's really important that you repeat after me out loud each time.

매번 큰 소리로 내 말을 따라하는 것이 정말 중요합니다.

Here we go.

여기 있습니다.

Okay, first one. ‘kind of’ = ‘kinda’ 

알겠습니다. 첫 번째입니다. '종류의' = '종류의'

‘She's kinda cute.’ ‘She's kinda cute.’ 

'그녀는 좀 귀여워요.' '좀 귀여운데.'

Next. ‘sort of’ = ‘sorta’ ‘I’m sorta tired’ 

다음. 'sort of' = 'sorta' '나는 좀 피곤해'

‘I’m sorta tired’ 

'나는 좀 피곤해'

‘out of’ = ‘outta’ ‘I’m outta money.’ 

'out of' = 'outta' '나는 돈이 부족해.'

‘I’m outta money.’ ‘a lot of’ = ‘alotta’ 

'돈이 없어.' 'a lot of' = 'alotta'

‘They ate alotta cake.’ ‘They ate alotta cake.’ 

'그들은 많은 케이크를 먹었습니다.' '그들은 케이크를 많이 먹었습니다.'

‘lots of’ = ‘lotsa’ ‘He has lotsa money.’ 

'많은' = '많은' '그는 돈이 많습니다.'

‘He has lotsa money.’ 

'그 사람은 돈이 많아요.'

Last one. ‘cup of’ = ‘cuppa’ 

마지막 것. 'cup of' = 'cuppa'

‘Would you like a cuppa coffee?’ ‘Would you like a cuppa coffee?’ 

'커피 한 잔 드실래요?' '커피 한 잔 드실래요?'

Did you guys hear that schwa that ‘uh’ sound?

여러분, '어' 소리를 내는 슈와(schwa) 들어보셨나요?

All right, let's take a look at a few dialogues.

And really pay close attention to these because I promise if you do it's going to  help you master these contractions.

Conversation 1. Which of these can be made into contractions?

Yes, these ones. “Buy me a cuppa coffee.”

“Sorry. I’m outta money.”

Conversation 2. Which of these can be made into contractions? 

대화 2. 다음 중 수축형으로 쓸 수 있는 것은 무엇인가요?

Yes, these ones. “It's getting kinda hot.” 

예, 이것들입니다. “좀 더워지네요.”

“Yes, we need to drink alotta water.” 

“그래, 우리는 물을 많이 마셔야 해.”

Conversation 3. Which of these can be made into contractions? 

대화 3. 다음 중 수축형으로 쓸 수 있는 것은 무엇인가요?

Yes, these ones. “I’m sorta tired.” 

예, 이것들입니다. “좀 피곤해요.”

“Go home and get lotsa rest.” 

“집에 가서 많이 쉬세요.”
