I basically keep it real with them, ha!

Especially when they mess up, which is a lot of times.

I do this because Africa has everything in it to be great.

You know, I grew up believing

आफ्रिका खंड म्हणून प्रचंड मोठा आहे.

that Africa as a continent is a giant.

आपल्याकडे कौशल्य ,विचारवंत लोक ,

We've got skills, intellectuals,

दुसरीकडे नसलेले नैसर्गिक स्रोत

natural resources more than any other continent.

जगातील ३१% सोने आफ्रिका पुरवते ,

Africa supplies 31 percent of the world's gold,

मँगनीज ,युरेनियम ,

manganese and uranium,

जगातील ५७% हिरे

57 percent of the world's diamonds

१३% तेल .

and 13 percent of the world's oil.

आपल्याला कोणावरही अवलंबून राहण्याचे कारण नाही

We have no reason to depend on aid

जागतिक बँकेकडून किंवा चीन कडून उधार घ्यायची हि जरुरत नाही.

or borrowing money from China or the World Bank.

फक्त चांगल्या नेतृत्वा विना ,

But without good leaders,

आपण एक गरुड आहोत ज्याला उडायचेच माहित नाही

we're like an eagle that has no idea it could fly,

एकट्याने

आफ्रिका एखाद्या झोपलेल्या राक्षसा प्रमाणे आहे .

let alone soar.

Africa is a like a sleeping giant.

Now the truth is, I'm trying to wake up this giant,

We were without a president for three months.

We were president-less for three months.

So then it becomes my job to call out the President,

३५००० हजारांहून हि जास्त नायजेरिअन डॉक्टर्स सध्या यु.स.,

Thirty-five thousand Nigerian doctors are presently working in the US,

यु.के. आणि कॅनडा मध्ये

the UK and Canada,

चांगले काम करत आहेत ,

doing amazing things,

कारण त्यांना नायजेरियात चांगला पगार नाही मिळत ,

because in Nigeria, they are not well-paid,

चांगले डॉक्टर म्हणून काम करण्यासाठी

neither do they have the necessary equipment

to do the job of being a doctor.

And this is happening in many African countries.

We have the capacity to fly.

But sadly, a lot of African talent is flying straight out of Africa

this Nigerian doctor operated on an unborn baby

Also, this Nigerian doctor

discovered the neurological effects of concussion on athletes.

And many countries have African athletes

त्यांच्या साठी सुवर्ण पदके मिळवत आहेत .

winning the gold medal for them.

मनोरंजक गोष्ट म्हणजे ,

The interesting thing is,

आफ्रिकेला देव च तारेल अशी आपण वाट बघत आहोत .

we're waiting for God to fix Africa.

हा काही विनोद नाही ,पण खरंच आपण देवाची वाट बघतोय

Like, for real, it's not a joke, we are, we're waiting for God.

म्हणजे बघा जरा अध्यक्ष बुरुंदी यांच्याकडे

I mean, just look at the president of Burundi.

ते विरोधकांना ,पत्रकारांना तुरुंगात टाकत आहेत ,

He's jailing journalists and opposition members,

आणि राष्ट्रीय प्रार्थना दिवस जाहीर करत आहेत

but he declared national day of prayer

ज्या दिवशी लोक देवाकडे प्राथर्ना करू शकतील देश वाचवण्याची .

so that people could pray for God to fix the country.

माझ्या मते ते स्वतः हे नाही करू शकत का ?

And I'm like, shouldn't he be fixing the country?

We want God to fix it.

But here's the thing, my favorite part of what I do

is featuring Africans doing amazing work,

सामान्य पण असामान्य काम करणारे लोक .

ordinary people touching lives.

या केनियाच्या महिलेप्रमाणे, वांगारी माथाई,

Like this Kenyan woman, Wangari Maathai,

मानवी हक्कांसाठी उभे राहण्याचे

the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace prize,

पहिले नोबेल पारितोषिक मिळवणारी आफ्रिकन महिला

for standing up for human rights

आणि लाखो झाडांचे वृक्षारोपण करणारी .

and planting a million trees.

तसेच ही झिम्बाब्वेची महिला,

Also this Zimbabwean woman,

डॉ तेरेराई ट्रेंट,

Dr. Tererai Trent,

जिचे वयाच्या १४ व्या वर्षीच लग्न झाले

who was married off at the age of 14

in exchange for a cow.

Yet, this woman taught herself to read and write,

And he's both Ghanian and Tanzanian,

तर आपल्याला माहीतच असेल कि हा घानाचा जलोफ तांदूळ आहे ,

so we know that it has to be the Ghanian Jollof rice,

नायजेरिया झिम्बाब्वेपासून खूप दूर आहे

Nigeria is as far from Zimbabwe

जसे न्यूयॉर्क फ्रान्स पासून आहे.

as New York is from France.

And it's not a bunch of naked people in need of Western charity.
