He said, if Mae West can be M-A-E,

તેમનું કહેવું હતું કે મૅ વૅસ્ટની જોડણી M-A-E થઇ શકે,

why can't Keshava be K-A-E?

તો કેશવની જોડણી K-A-E કેમ નહીં?

So he changed Kaesava's spelling.

આમ તેમણે કેશવની જોડણી બદલી કાઢી.

Now Kaesava had a baby boy

હવે કૅશવ[Kaesava]ને બે એક અઠવાડિયાં પહેલાં દીકરો થયો,

called Rehan a couple of weeks ago.

જેનું નામ રેહાન રાખ્યું છે.

He decided to spell, or, rather,

તેણે તેની જોડણી, કે પછી સુધારેલી ખોટી જોડણી,

misspell Raehan with an A-E.

રૅહાન,જેમાં A-E છે રાખવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.

You know, my grandfather died

my life will ever live beyond

200 years, so we thought

that's a perfect place where

we should situate our plan and

let our imagination take flight.

You know, I never really

believed in legacy. What am I

It caused so much trouble for me.

about ourselves.

You know, we carry so much

આપણે આપણાં માબાપ,

baggage, from our parents,

આપણા સમાજ, બીજાં કેટલાંય પાસેથી

from our society, from so many

ભય ,અસલામતી વિગેરેનો એટલો

people -- fears, insecurities -- and

બધો ભાર ઉઠાવી લાવીએ છીએ કે

our 200-year plan really lists

આપણાં ૨૦૦-વર્ષનાં આયોજનમાં આપણે

all our childhood problems that we have to expire.

આપણા મરતાં પર્યંતના આપણા બાળપણની સમસ્યાઓ જ લખીને બેસી રહી છીએ.

We actually put an expiry date

જો કે આપણે આપણાં બાળપણના બધા જ

on all our childhood problems.

પ્રશ્નો ને સમાપ્તિની તારીખ તો લગાડી જ દેતાં હોઇએ છીએ.

The latest date I put was,

છેલ્લે મેં મારા ડાબેરી, નારીવાદી

I said, I am going to expire

સાસુના ભયની સમાપ્તિ માટે

my fear of my leftist, feminist

જે તારીખ નક્કી કરી હતી,

mother-in-law, and this

તે દિવસ

today is the date! (Laughs)

આજે છે! [હાસ્ય]

She's watching. (Laughter)

તે જોઇ રહ્યાં છે, હો. [હાસ્ય]

Anyway, you know, I really

ચાલો એ જવા દો, તમે તો જાણતાં નહીં જ હો કે

make decisions all the time

Name it, I'm on it.

તમે જેનું નામ પાડશો, તેના પર મારી હાજરી છે.

I've started outsourcing my

મેં યાદ રાખવાની મારી કામગીરી

memory to the digital world,

ડીજીટલ દુનિયાને સોંપી રાખી છે,

you know? But that comes

પણ તેમાં

with a problem.

એક સમસ્યા છે.

It's so easy to think of

ટેક્નોલોજીને મગજની ઉપમા

technology as a metaphor

આપવી તો સહેલું છે,

for memory, but our brains

પરંતુ, આપણાં મગજ

are not perfect storage devices

ટૅક્નોલોજી જેટલાં સારાં સંગ્રહ

like technology.

We only remember what we

And I rather think of our brains

or not, we are actually leaving

behind digital traces all the time.

So Netra and I really wanted

to curate this digital legacy,

but we believe in curating

the legacy of my past

How, you may ask?

Well, when I think of the future,

I wrote a letter to both of them,

and came and launched

And what a bang it started
