All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.

Tutti vaporicciosi eran i borogovi E le tizzose pastrughe sgnizzavano.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

“Guardati dal Ciciarampa, figliolo! Ha fauci mordenti, artigli acciuffanti!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!”

Guardati dall’uccello Giabgiab, e rifuggi Il fuminoso Brandiscippatore!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand; Long time the manxome foe he sought—

Impugnò la gironda spada, A lungo il mortaloso nemico cercò.

So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought.

Così riposò presso l’albero Tomtom E rimase in sovrappensiero per un po’.

And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,

Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through

The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”

O giorno gioiglorioso! Iuppì! Iuppù!”

He chortled in his joy.

Sghignazzò felicitante.
