I am Mahsa.

मैं महसा हूँ।

I am 22 years old.

मेरी उम्र 22 वर्ष है।

I am from Kurdistan.

मैं कुर्दिस्तान से हूँ।

I came on vacation to Tehran for two days with my brother.

मैं अपने भाई के साथ दो दिन की छुट्टी पर तेहरान आई थी।

I got arrested for not wearing my veil properly.

मुझे अपना नक़ाब ठीक तरह से न पहनने की वजह से गिरफ़्तार कर लिया गया।

Then I was beaten repeatedly

फिर मुझे बार-बार पीटा गया

and eventually went into a coma and died.

और आखिरकार मैं कोमा में चली गई और मेरी मौत हो गई।

I am Nika.

मैं नीका हूँ।

I'm 16 years old.

मैं 16 साल की हूँ।

I dressed all in black, took my water bottle

मैंने पूरे काले कपड़े पहने, अपनी पानी की बोतल ली

and a small towel to protect myself from tear gas.

और एक छोटा तौलिया लिया ताकि ख़ुद को आंसू गैस से बचा सकूँ।

I went on the street to protest.

मैं सड़क पर विरोध प्रदर्शन करने गई।

I got kidnapped, tortured.

मेरा अपहरण हुआ, मुझे प्रताड़ित किया गया।

I'm Nika's shattered skull.

मैं नीका की चकनाचूर खोपड़ी हूँ।

I am her battered body,

मैं उसका क्षत-विक्षत शरीर हूँ,

delivered to her family 10 days after she got kidnapped.

जो उसके परिवार को उसके अपहरण के 10 दिन बाद भेजा गया।

Eventually, she was buried without warning

आखिरकार, उसे बिना किसी चेतावनी के

in some faraway cemetery.

Tortured and kept in solitary confinement for months and months.

महीनों तक प्रताड़ित किया गया और एकांत कारावास में रखा गया।

I am Elaheh, I am Niloofar.

मैं ऐलाहेह हूँ, मैं नीलूफ़र हूँ।

We are journalists who reported on the death of Mahsa.

We have been in prison since.

I am 537 victims of this revolution in Iran.

ईरान में इस क्रांति का मैं 537 शिकार हूँ।

The ones who got executed.

वे जिन्हें फांसी लगा दी गई।

The ones who got tortured.

वे जिन्हें यातना दी गई।

The tens of thousands of wounded and arrested and imprisoned,

हज़ारों की संख्या में घायल और गिरफ़्तार किए गए, जेल में डाले गए

innocent men and women.

निर्दोष पुरुष और महिलाएं।

I am the raised fist of young girls

मैं उठी हुई मुट्ठी हूँ उन नवयुवतियों की

with their hair flowing in the wind.

जिनके बाल हवा में लहरा रहे हैं।

I am their glorious dance.

मैं उनका गौरवशाली नृत्य हूँ।

I am their blood, their sighs, their tears,

मैं उनका ख़ून, उनकी आहें, उनके आंसू,

their dreams, their eyes,

उनके सपने, उनकी आंखें,

their lost eyes by rubber bullets.

रबर की गोलियां लगी उनकी खोई हुईआंखें हूँ।

I am the reason they stood up.

मैं उनके विरोध का कारण हूँ।

I am freedom.

मैं आज़ादी हूँ।

And I'm also Golshifteh.

और, मैं गोलशिफ़्ताह भी हूँ।

I'm an artist.

मैं एक कलाकार हूँ।

I'm living a life of exile for the past 15 years.

मैं पिछले 15 साल से निर्वासित जीवन जी रही हूँ।

I was forced to leave my motherland.

मुझे मजबूरी में अपनी मातृभूमि छोड़नी पड़ी।

But I kept fighting, as a woman, for life, to be free.

लेकिन मैं लड़ती रही, एक महिला के रूप में, आज़ाद होने के लिए।

My choices and existence as an exiled female artist

एक निर्वासित महिला कलाकार के रूप में मेरे विकल्प और मेरा अस्तित्व,

was my battle.

मेरी लड़ाई थी।

Exist to resist.

जीवित हूँ विरोध करने के लिए।

But the courageous, fearless Generation Z,

लेकिन वह निडर, बेख़ौफ़ जेनेरेशन ज़ी,

who started this revolution,

जिन्होंने इस क्रांति की शुरुआत की,

they didn't leave.

वे छोड़ कर नहीं गए।

They stayed.

वे वहीं रहे।

And they went on the street and died for woman, life and freedom.

और वे सड़कों पर उतरे और महिला, जीवन और आज़ादी के लिए जान दी।

Death breaks the cage

जैसा कि रूमी कहते हैं,

but doesn't kill the bird, as Rumi says.

मौत पिंजरा तोड़ती है, लेकिन पक्षी को नहीं मारती।

We carry these birds in us,

हम अपने अंदर इन पक्षियों को लेकर घूमते हैं,

let them fly on their way to victory.

उन्हें जीत की राह पर उड़ने दें.

Wars, discrimination, dictatorships, racism,

युद्ध, भेदभाव, तानाशाही, नस्लवाद,

it is all the same.

ये सब एक ही बात है।

Iran is the rest of the world.

ईरान बाकी दुनिया है।

The world is Iran.

दुनिया ईरान है।

Woman, Life, Freedom;

महिला, जीवन, आज़ादी;

Black Lives Matter;

ब्लैक लाइव्स मैटर;

Glory to Ukraine.

यूक्रेन की जय हो।

Ignorance and fear is the cause of it all.

इस सब की वजह अज्ञानता और डर है।

We can all decide today to be the bridge to unite rather than separate.

हम सब आज तय कर सकते हैं कि हम जोड़ने वाला सेतु बनें, अलग करने वाला नहीं।

Any child living in a dictatorship,

तानाशाही में रहना वाला कोई भी बच्चा,

any refugee child being denied help,

मदद से वंचित किया गया कोई भी शरणार्थी बच्चा,

any child being killed in war,

युद्ध में मारा जा रहा कोई भी बच्चा,

if we ignore one, we ignore our own children

अगर हम एक की उपेक्षा करते हैं, हम अपने ही बच्चों की उपेक्षा करते हैं

and we deny humanity.

और हम मानवता को नकारते हैं।

The poet Saadi once said,

कवि सादी ने एक बार कहा था,

"Human beings are members of a whole.

“इंसान एक संपूर्ण के सदस्य हैं।

In creation of one essence and soul.

एक मूल तत्व और आत्मा के निर्माण में।

If one member is afflicted with pain,

अगर एक सदस्य दर्द से पीड़ित है,

other members uneasy will remain.

अन्य सदस्य बेचैन रहेंगे।

If you have no sympathy for human pain,

अगर आपको इंसानी दर्द के लिए सहानुभूति नहीं है,

the name of human you cannot retain."

तो आप ख़ुद को इंसान नहीं कह सकते।”
