They say that life can be confusing.

ဘဝက ရှုပ်​​ထွေးနိုင်​တယ်​လို့​ပြောကြတယ်​။

Sometimes things happen that make no sense.

တခါတရံ အဓိပ္ပါယ်မရှိသော အရာများ ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာတတ်သည်။

An event or situation that leaves you feeling confused can be described as confusing.

သင့်အား စိတ်ရှုပ်ထွေးစေသော အဖြစ်အပျက် သို့မဟုတ် အခြေအနေတစ်ခုကို ရှုပ်ထွေးမှုအဖြစ် ဖော်ပြနိုင်သည်။

A confusing situation. A confusing moment.

စိတ်ရှုပ်စရာ အခြေအနေတစ်ခု။ စိတ်ရှုပ်စရာအခိုက်အတန့်။

Something that leaves you  feeling bewildered is confusing.

တစ်စုံတစ်ခုက သင့်ကို ရူးသွပ်သွားစေတာက ရှုပ်ထွေးစေတယ်။ ဒီခံစားချက်က

Quite often this feeling  comes from a moment of not 

သင့်ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်မှာ ဖြစ်ပျက်နေတာကို နားမလည်တဲ့

understanding what is happening around you.

အခိုက်အတန့်ကနေ လာတတ်ပါတယ် ။

We can describe the moment  as a state of confusion.

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ထိုအခိုက်အတန့်အား ရှုပ်ထွေးမှုအခြေအနေတစ်ခုအဖြစ် ဖော်ပြနိုင်သည်။

Perhaps you don’t understand what a person is trying to explain to you.

လူတစ်ယောက်က မင်းကို ရှင်းပြဖို့ ကြိုးစားနေတာကို မင်း နားမလည်တာဖြစ်နိုင်တယ်။

This is also a moment of confusion.

ဒါကလည်း စိတ်ရှုပ်စရာအခိုက်အတန့်ပါပဲ။

There are many ways of expressing this feeling.

ဒီခံစားချက်ကို ဖော်ပြဖို့ နည်းလမ်းများစွာရှိပါတယ်။

You are confused.

ရှုပ်နေသလား။

You are bewildered.

နင်က ရှုပ်နေတယ်။

You are puzzled.

မင်း ပဟေဌိဖြစ်နေပြီ။

We can also use the word ‘confuse’ when mixing two things with each other.

အရာနှစ်ခုကို တစ်ခုနှင့်တစ်ခု ရောနှောသည့်အခါ 'ရှုပ်ထွေးခြင်း' ဟူသော စကားလုံးကိုလည်း ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ သုံးနိုင်သည်။

That is to say you mistake one thing for another.

ဆိုလိုတာက သင်ဟာ တစ်ခုနဲ့တစ်ခု အမှားလုပ်မိလို့ပါပဲ။

Perhaps you meet a person in the street and you think you know who they are,

လမ်းမှာလူတစ်ယောက်နဲ့တွေ့ပြီး သူတို့ဘယ်သူလဲဆိုတာ သင်သိတယ်လို့ ထင်ကောင်းထင်နိုင်

but in fact you are confusing  them with someone else.

ပေမယ့် တကယ်တော့ သင်က တခြားတစ်ယောက်နဲ့ ရှုပ်ယှက်ခတ်နေတာပါပဲ။

You miss-identify that person.

မင်းက အဲဒီလူကို ခွဲခြားသတ်မှတ်ဖို့ လွဲနေတယ်။

You mistake that person for someone else.

မင်း အဲဒီလူကို တခြားတစ်ယောက်အတွက် အမှားလုပ်တယ်။

We can describe this moment as ‘confusion’.

ဤအခိုက်အတန့်ကို 'ရှုပ်ထွေးမှုများ' အဖြစ် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ဖော်ပြနိုင်ပါသည်။

You have confused one person with another.

သင်သည် လူတစ်ဦးနှင့် အခြားတစ်ဦးကို ရောထွေးနေပါသလား။

So it is possible to use the word confusion as a way of describing a mistake made

ထို့ကြောင့် တစ်စုံတစ်ခုကို ဖော်ထုတ်ရာတွင်

when identifying something.

အမှားတစ်ခုကို ဖော်ပြသည့် နည်းလမ်းအဖြစ် ရှုပ်ထွေးသော စကားလုံးကို အသုံးပြုနိုင်သည်

A certain piece of information that is given out but is hard to understand

။ ထုတ်ပေးထားသော်လည်း နားလည်ရခက်သော အချက်အလက်အချို့သည်

might be described as being confusing.

ရှုပ်ထွေးနေသည်ဟု ဖော်ပြနိုင်သည်။

You don’t understand what is being said,

ပြောတာကို နားမလည်တဲ့

hence the feeling of confusion will arise.

အတွက် စိတ်ရှုပ်စရာတွေ ပေါ်လာလိမ့်မယ်။

Not knowing what something is, or misunderstanding something is confusion.

တစ်စုံတစ်ခုသောအရာကို မသိခြင်း သို့မဟုတ် တစ်စုံတစ်ခုကို နားလည်မှုလွဲခြင်းသည် ရှုပ်ထွေးခြင်းပင်ဖြစ်သည်။

You might wake up in the  morning in a confused state 

သင်သတိရှိရန် အချိန်အတော်ကြာသောကြောင့်

because it is taking a long  time for you to become alert.

ရှုပ်ထွေးသောအခြေအနေတွင် နံနက်ခင်းတွင် သင်နိုးလာနိုင်သည် ။

The feeling of tiredness can  make you drowsy and confused.

ပင်ပန်းနွမ်းနယ်မှု ခံစားချက်က သင့်ကို ငိုက်မျဉ်းပြီး စိတ်ရှုပ်ထွေးစေနိုင်ပါတယ်။

Another good word we can use is disorientate.

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သုံးနိုင်သော နောက်ထပ်စကားလုံးကောင်းတစ်ခုမှာ စိတ်ရှုပ်ခြင်းပင်ဖြစ်သည်။

If you lose your direction, we can say you have become confused as to where you are

သင့်ဦးတည်ချက် ပျက်သွားပါက၊ သင်ဘယ်နေရာ

and where you should be going.

နှင့် သင်သွားသင့်သည်ဆိုသည့်အချက်ကို ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ စိတ်ရှုပ်ထွေးသွားသည်ဟု ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ပြောနိုင်ပါသည်။

You have become disorientated.

မင်း စိတ်ရှုပ်လာပြီ။

When learning a new subject, you might find yourself feeling confused from time to time.

ဘာသာရပ်အသစ်တစ်ခုကို သင်ယူသောအခါတွင် သင်သည် ရံဖန်ရံခါ စိတ်ရှုပ်ထွေးနေတတ်သည်။

Of course, this is a normal thing to feel.

ဟုတ်ပါတယ်၊ ဒါက သာမာန်ကိစ္စပါ။

Confusion whilst learning something new is nothing to worry about,

အသစ်အဆန်းတစ်ခုကို သင်ယူရင်း စိတ်ရှုပ်စရာက

as it can happen any time.

အချိန်မရွေးဖြစ်နိုင်တာကြောင့်

Even whilst learning English.

စိုးရိမ်စရာမရှိပါဘူး ။ အင်္ဂလိပ်စာလေ့လာနေရင်းနဲ့တောင်။
