Expressing CONFUSION - What is confusion? / Learn English with Misterduncan

They say that life can be confusing.

ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

Sometimes things happen that make no sense.

ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਤਲਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

An event or situation that leaves you feeling confused can be described as confusing.

ਇੱਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਣ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

A confusing situation. A confusing moment.

ਇੱਕ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ. ਇੱਕ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਲ।

Something that leaves you  feeling bewildered is confusing.

ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।

Quite often this feeling  comes from a moment of not 

ਅਕਸਰ ਇਹ ਭਾਵਨਾ

understanding what is happening around you.

ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਕੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਲ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ.

We can describe the moment  as a state of confusion.

ਅਸੀਂ ਪਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਣ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

Perhaps you don’t understand what a person is trying to explain to you.

ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਸਮਝਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

This is also a moment of confusion.

ਇਹ ਵੀ ਉਲਝਣ ਦਾ ਪਲ ਹੈ।

There are many ways of expressing this feeling.

ਇਸ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਹਨ.

You are confused.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ।

You are bewildered.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਹੋ।

You are puzzled.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਲਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋ।

We can also use the word ‘confuse’ when mixing two things with each other.

ਅਸੀਂ ਦੋ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ 'ਕਨਫਿਊਜ਼' ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

That is to say you mistake one thing for another.

ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੀ ਲਈ ਗਲਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ.

Perhaps you meet a person in the street and you think you know who they are,

ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹਨ,

but in fact you are confusing  them with someone else.

ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਲਝਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ.

You miss-identify that person.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋ।

You mistake that person for someone else.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਲਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ.

We can describe this moment as ‘confusion’.

ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਪਲ ਨੂੰ 'ਉਲਝਣ' ਵਜੋਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

You have confused one person with another.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਲਝਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

So it is possible to use the word confusion as a way of describing a mistake made

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ

when identifying something.

ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਉਲਝਣ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ।

A certain piece of information that is given out but is hard to understand

ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਜੋ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ,

might be described as being confusing.

ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

You don’t understand what is being said,

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,

hence the feeling of confusion will arise.

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਲਝਣ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

Not knowing what something is, or misunderstanding something is confusion.

ਇਹ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਨਾ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਕੀ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਤ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਉਲਝਣ ਹੈ।

You might wake up in the  morning in a confused state 

ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਠ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ

because it is taking a long  time for you to become alert.

ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

The feeling of tiredness can  make you drowsy and confused.

ਥਕਾਵਟ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

Another good word we can use is disorientate.

ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਰਤ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੈ disorientate.

If you lose your direction, we can say you have become confused as to where you are

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੋ

and where you should be going.

ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

You have become disorientated.

ਤੂੰ ਭਟਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

When learning a new subject, you might find yourself feeling confused from time to time.

ਨਵਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਵੇਲੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਮੇਂ-ਸਮੇਂ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਣ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।

Of course, this is a normal thing to feel.

ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ, ਇਹ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਇੱਕ ਆਮ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ.

Confusion whilst learning something new is nothing to worry about,

ਕੁਝ ਨਵਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਲਝਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,

as it can happen any time.

ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Even whilst learning English.

ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ।
