In this video we will focus on two English vowel sounds:

ဤဗီဒီယိုတွင် အင်္ဂလိပ်သရသံနှစ်ခုကို အဓိကထားပြပါမည်-

/I/ and /i:/

/i/ နှင့် /i:/

Now I know they sound very similar, but they are different.

ယခုတော့ ၎င်းတို့အသံသည် အလွန်ဆင်တူသော်လည်း ၎င်းတို့သည် ကွဲပြားပါသည်။

And they are two very important vowel sounds in English.

So let's start with our two example words:

Although they are similar, they are two different vowel sounds.

First, let's try to make the sound /I/.

So when you pronounce, it your tongue is a little higher in your mouth, closer to the front.

ဒါကြောင့် မင်းအသံထွက်တဲ့အခါ မင်းရဲ့လျှာက မင်းရဲ့ပါးစပ်ထဲမှာ နည်းနည်းပိုမြင့်ပြီး ရှေ့နဲ့ပိုနီးတယ်။

Stretch out your lips a little.

And it's a short sound.

Let's now practice the second sound, /i:/.

အခု ဒုတိယအသံကို လေ့ကျင့်လိုက်ရအောင် /i:/။

So the tongue has the same position.

ဒါကြောင့် လျှာဟာ တူညီတဲ့ အနေအထား ရှိပါတယ်။

It's a little bit higher, closer to the front.

၎င်းသည် အနည်းငယ်မြင့်ပြီး၊ ရှေ့နှင့် ပိုနီးပါသည်။

But, when you say /i:/, you stretch out your lips a little more.

ဒါပေမယ့် /i:/ လို့ပြောတဲ့အခါ နှုတ်ခမ်းကို နည်းနည်းပိုဆန့်တယ်။

And it's a long sound.

They’re words with very similar sounds, but the actual vowel sounds are different.
