I Dumped Him! | Learn Spoken English Expressions

And in this video, we're going to  talk about an important expression,  

このビデオでは、 特に恋愛関係にある人にとって

especially for those of you  who are in relationships. 

重要な表現について話します 。

For those of you who have  a boyfriend or girlfriend. 

彼氏や彼女がいるあなたへ。

And that expression is ‘to dump someone’. ‘to dump someone’ 

そしてその表現は「誰かを捨てる」ということです。 「誰かを捨てること」

Well, what do you think that means? Well, for those of you who are in a relationship,  

では、それはどういう意味だと思いますか？そうですね、恋愛関係にある人にとっては、

maybe, you're not happy. Hmm 

おそらく幸せではないでしょう。うーん

Maybe you don't love that person anymore, or maybe  that person is just really horrible, really bad. 

、もしかしたらあなたはもうその人を愛していないかもしれません、あるいはその人は本当にひどい、本当に悪い人なのかもしれません。

So, what do you do? Well, you break up with them. 

それで、何をしますか？まあ、あなたは彼らと別れます。

Right, you say, “I don't  want to be with you anymore.” 

そう、あなたは「もう一緒にいたくない」と言うのです。

And that's where the expression  comes in ‘to dump someone’. 

そこで「誰かを捨てる」という表現が登場します。

So, when you tell your boyfriend or girlfriend, “I don't want to be with you anymore,” you  

ですから、彼氏や彼女に「もう一緒にいたくない」と言うと、あなたは

are dumping them. Okay, so let's look at these examples first. 

彼らを振っていることになります。それでは、まずこれらの例を見てみましょう。

He dumped me. Hmm, he dumped me. 

彼は私を捨てた。うーん、彼は私を捨てました。

This is a sad situation, right? Maybe my boyfriend didn't love me anymore,  

これは悲しい状況ですよね？もしかしたら、彼氏はもう私を愛していなかったのか、

or maybe I did something that made him angry. So he dumped me. 

あるいは私が彼氏を怒らせるようなことをしたのかもしれません。それで彼は私を捨てました。

He doesn't want to be with me any longer. Hmm, ‘I dumped him’. 

彼はもう私と一緒にいたくないのです。うーん、「私は彼を捨てた」。

The next sentence, ‘I dumped him’. This one is not so bad. 

次の文は「私は彼を捨てた」です。これはそれほど悪くありません。

Maybe my boyfriend was really  bad, or he lied too much. 

おそらく私の彼氏は本当に悪かったか、嘘をつきすぎたのでしょう。

So I kicked him. I got rid of him. 

それで私は彼を蹴りました。私は彼を追い出しました。

I dumped him. Okay. 

私は彼を捨てました。わかった。

So, let's look at some more  example sentences together. 

それでは、さらに例文を一緒に見ていきましょう。

‘She dumped him because he lied to her.’ 

「彼が彼女に嘘をついたので、彼女は彼を捨てました。」

‘She dumped him because he lied to her.’

「彼が彼女に嘘をついたので、彼女は彼を捨てました。」

‘He dumped me I'm so sad.’ 

「彼に捨てられたのでとても悲しいです。」

‘He dumped me I'm so sad.’ 

「彼に捨てられたのでとても悲しいです。」

Okay, so in this video we learned  the expression ‘to dump someone’. 

さて、このビデオでは「誰かを捨てる」という表現を学びました。

Remember, you can dump a bad boyfriend or  girlfriend, but they can also dump you. 

悪い彼氏や彼女を捨てることはできますが、彼らからもあなたを捨てることもできるということを覚えておいてください。

Now, I want to tell you about  one of my ex-boyfriends. 

さて、私の元ボーイフレンドの一人について話したいと思います。

He never had time for me. He was always busy. 

彼には私のための時間がまったくありませんでした。彼はいつも忙しかった。

And he couldn't talk or hang out. So, I had to dump him and it felt great. 

そして彼は話すことも、一緒に過ごすこともできませんでした。それで、私は彼を捨てなければなりませんでしたが、それはとても気分がよかったです。
