I Dumped Him! | Learn Spoken English Expressions

And in this video, we're going to  talk about an important expression,  

At sa video na ito, pag-uusapan natin ang tungkol sa isang mahalagang pagpapahayag,

especially for those of you  who are in relationships. 

lalo na para sa iyo na nasa mga karelasyon.

For those of you who have  a boyfriend or girlfriend. 

Para sa inyo na may boyfriend o girlfriend.

And that expression is ‘to dump someone’. ‘to dump someone’ 

At ang expression na iyon ay 'to dump someone'. 'to dump someone'

Well, what do you think that means? Well, for those of you who are in a relationship,  

Well, ano sa tingin mo ang ibig sabihin nito? Well, sa mga ka-relasyon mo,

maybe, you're not happy. Hmm 

siguro, hindi ka masaya. Hmm

Maybe you don't love that person anymore, or maybe  that person is just really horrible, really bad. 

Baka hindi mo na mahal yung taong yun, o baka nakakakilabot lang talaga yung taong yun, grabe.

So, what do you do? Well, you break up with them. 

So, anong gagawin mo? Well, makipaghiwalay ka sa kanila.

Right, you say, “I don't  want to be with you anymore.” 

Tama, sasabihin mo, "Ayaw na kitang makasama."

And that's where the expression  comes in ‘to dump someone’. 

At doon papasok ang expression na 'to dump someone'.

So, when you tell your boyfriend or girlfriend, “I don't want to be with you anymore,” you  

Kaya, kapag sinabi mo sa iyong kasintahan o kasintahan, "Ayoko nang makasama ka,"

are dumping them. Okay, so let's look at these examples first. 

tinatapon mo sila. Okay, kaya tingnan muna natin ang mga halimbawang ito.

He dumped me. Hmm, he dumped me. 

Tinapon niya ako. Hmm, binitawan niya ako.

This is a sad situation, right? Maybe my boyfriend didn't love me anymore,  

Ito ay isang malungkot na sitwasyon, tama ba? Baka hindi na ako mahal ng boyfriend ko,

or maybe I did something that made him angry. So he dumped me. 

o baka may nagawa akong ikinagalit niya. Kaya tinapon niya ako.

He doesn't want to be with me any longer. Hmm, ‘I dumped him’. 

Ayaw na niya akong makasama. Hmm, 'tinapon ko siya'.

The next sentence, ‘I dumped him’. This one is not so bad. 

Ang sumunod na pangungusap, 'I dumped him'. Hindi naman masama ang isang ito.

Maybe my boyfriend was really  bad, or he lied too much. 

Baka masama talaga ang boyfriend ko, o masyado siyang nagsinungaling.

So I kicked him. I got rid of him. 

Kaya binatukan ko siya. Pinaalis ko siya.

I dumped him. Okay. 

Tinapon ko siya. Sige.

So, let's look at some more  example sentences together. 

Kaya, tingnan natin ang ilang higit pang halimbawa ng mga pangungusap nang magkasama.

‘She dumped him because he lied to her.’ 

'She dumped him dahil nagsinungaling siya sa kanya.'

‘She dumped him because he lied to her.’

'She dumped him dahil nagsinungaling siya sa kanya.'

‘He dumped me I'm so sad.’ 

'Tinapon niya ako I'm so sad.'

‘He dumped me I'm so sad.’ 

'Tinapon niya ako I'm so sad.'

Okay, so in this video we learned  the expression ‘to dump someone’. 

Okay, kaya sa video na ito natutunan namin ang expression na 'to dump someone'.

Remember, you can dump a bad boyfriend or  girlfriend, but they can also dump you. 

Tandaan, maaari mong itapon ang isang masamang nobyo o kasintahan, ngunit maaari ka rin nilang itapon.

Now, I want to tell you about  one of my ex-boyfriends. 

Ngayon, gusto kong sabihin sa iyo ang tungkol sa isa sa aking mga dating nobyo.

He never had time for me. He was always busy. 

Wala siyang oras para sa akin. Lagi siyang busy.

And he couldn't talk or hang out. So, I had to dump him and it felt great. 

At hindi siya nakakausap o nakakabit. Kaya, kinailangan ko siyang itapon at ang sarap sa pakiramdam.
