Today, I'm going to be teaching you about one of the most commonly used English proverbs.

You might have heard it before.

আপনি এটা আগে শুনে থাকতে পারে.

Let's take a look at the board.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

যেখানে যেমন, সেখানে তেমন.

So what does this mean?

তাহলে এর অর্থ কি?

It's talking about when you go to other country.

এটা আপনি যখন অন্য দেশে যান কথা হচ্ছে.

You have to adapt to that culture so when in Rome.

রোমে থাকাকালীন আপনাকে সেই সংস্কৃতির সাথে মানিয়ে নিতে হবে।

It's taking about Italy.

এটা ইতালি সম্পর্কে নিচ্ছে.

You don't really have to think about Italy when you use this proverbs.

আপনি যখন এই প্রবাদটি ব্যবহার করেন তখন আপনাকে সত্যিই ইতালি সম্পর্কে ভাবতে হবে না।

You can be in any country, any city.

আপনি যে কোনও দেশে, যে কোনও শহরে থাকতে পারেন।

Do as the Romans do.

রোমানরা যেমন করে তেমনি কর।

Again it's talking about local people.

আবার স্থানীয় মানুষের কথা বলা হচ্ছে।

You can use this for anything so when do you use this when can you make use of this proverbs.

আপনি যেকোনো কিছুর জন্য এটি ব্যবহার করতে পারেন তাই আপনি কখন এটি ব্যবহার করবেন কখন আপনি এই প্রবাদটি ব্যবহার করতে পারেন।

For example, if you go other country.

উদাহরণস্বরূপ, আপনি যদি অন্য দেশে যান।

You go to the first time.

আপনি প্রথমবার যান।

You find it quite hard to adapt you encounter something new.

You might think to yourself and you might use this proverbs.

For example, when I first came to Korea.

I felt quite confused.
