If, however, you've experienced swimming in the UK, it's very different.

Now, an outdoor pool in the UK is often referred to as a lido.

Now when you jump into a pool, you have the choice of different types of strokes.

Now, a stroke is basically the style of swimming that you choose.

I used to be terrible at swimming where you put your head under the water.

I talked about the breaststroke being my stroke of choice.

Now, I did learn eventually to dip my head under the water with each stroke.

Now, the next most popular stroke is called the front crawl.

The next stroke is on your back and it's called backstroke.

Now when I was researching this podcast and looking for the correct terms for

my life, I learned about a different stroke that I've never heard of before,

Okay, so let's talk about pools in the UK.

I said the majority of pools are indoor pools and often people learn
