and standing for four long hours while the judge is reading my sentence.

You're in a small cage

လှောင်ချိုင့်လေးထဲမှာ ရှိနေပြီး

and you're surrounded by 10 prison guards in balaclavas.

သိုးမွေး ခေါင်းစွပ် ဝတ်ထားတဲ့ အကျဉ်းထောင် အစောင့် ၁၀ ယောက်က ဝိုင်းရံထားတယ်။

There is also a guard dog who is barking at you angrily

What is my crime exactly?

I sang a song.

Me and four other members of Pussy Riot

ကျွန်မနဲ့ Pussy Riot ရဲ့ အခြားအဖွဲ့ဝင် လေးယောက်ဟာ

came to Cathedral of Christ the Saviour,

ကယ်တင်ရှင် ခရစ်တော် ဘုရားကျောင်းကို ရောက်လာပြီး

and we preached to the people of Russia

from the holy place that for thousands of years

I dropped everything I was doing,

and I promised to myself

that I'm going to dedicate my life to resistance.

I felt deep inside me that Putin equals death,

Our job was to show the people of Russia that resisting is indeed an option.

The supreme, sacred,

holy rule in Putin's Russia

is to remain afraid.

We decided to break this rule.

ဒီစည်းမျဉ်းကို ဖောက်ဖျက်ဖို့ ကျွန်မတို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့တယ်။

By breaking this rule, we disrupted the game as such.

We exposed it as a mere game.

As I said in my closing statement,

but we are freer than people who are prosecuting us

Despite of the global movement in support of Pussy Riot,

we got convicted to two years in jail.

The hell was in front of me.

ငရဲက ကျွန်မရဲ့ရှေ့မှာ ရှိနေခဲ့တယ်။

I was forced to sew police and military uniforms

ကျွန်မကို ရဲနဲ့ စစ်ယူနီဖောင်းတွေ အတင်းချုပ်ခိုင်းပြီး၊

and I was getting injured while I was doing it.

ချုပ်နေတုန်းမှာ ကျွန်မကို ဒဏ်ရာရအောင်လုပ်နေတယ်။

But even in the darkest moments,

I knew that our fight is not over.

and network for effective resistance.

In March 2023,

I was put on Russia's most-wanted list.

ကျွန်မဟာ ရုရှားရဲ့ အလိုအရှိဆုံး စာရင်းမှာ ထည့်သွင်းခံရတယ်။

I'm facing new criminal charges for the art I made.

ကျွန်မ ဖန်တီးထားတဲ့ အနုပညာအတွက် ရာဇ၀တ်မှုအသစ်တွေနဲ့ ရင်ဆိုင်နေရပါတယ်။

Why?

ဘာဖြစ်လို့လဲ။

Because I said that the emperor is naked

ဧကရာဇ်က ဝတ်လစ်စလစ် ဖြစ်နေတယ်လို့ ပြောခဲ့တာကြောင့်၊

and because he is, in fact, naked,

I want to send a message to Vladimir Putin directly.

ဗလာဒီမာ ပူတင်ကို တိုက်ရိုက် သတင်းစကားပါးချင်တယ်။

A wanted criminal to wanted criminal.

ရာဇဝတ်သားကို အလိုရှိနေတဲ့ ရာဇ၀တ်သားတစ်ယောက်။

Vladimir Vladimirovich,

ဗလာဒီမာ ဗလာဒီမီရိုဗစ်ချ်ရေ၊

the Kremlin walls became your prison walls.

ကရင်မလင် တံတိုင်းတွေက ရှင့်ရဲ့ ထောင်နံရံတွေ ဖြစ်လာခဲ့ပါပြီ။

You have already lost.

ရှင် ရှုံးနေနှင့်ပြီ။

You know it.

ရှင် ဒါကိုသိတယ်။

That's why you're so afraid.

ဒါကြောင့် ရှင် သိပ်ကြောက်နေတယ်။

You lost in spirit.

စိတ်ဓာတ်အရ ရှင် ရှုံးနေတယ်။

The world is on Ukraine's side.

ကမ္ဘာကြီးက ယူကရိန်းဘက်မှာ ရှိနေတယ်။

The world is with the brave people of Ukraine.

ကမ္ဘာကြီး ယူကရိန်းရဲ့ ရဲရင့်သူတွေနဲ့ အတူရှိနေတယ်။

And in your final hour,

ရှင့်ရဲ့ နောက်ဆုံး နာရီမှာ

when you pray

ရှင် ဆုတောင်းမယ့်

to whoever you're going to be praying to,

ဘယ်သူ့အတွက်ဖြစ်ဖြစ် ရှင် ဆုတောင်းတဲ့အခါ၊

know that she is on our side.

သူက ကျွန်မတို့ဘက်မှာ ရှိနေတာကို ရှင် သိပါ။

She's on the side of truth.

သူက အမှန်တရားဘက်မှာ ရှိနေတာပါ။

Yesterday, my friend,

မနေ့က ကျွန်မရဲ့သူငယ်ချင်း၊

my colleague and comrade Vladimir Kara-Murza

လုပ်ဖော်ကိုင်ဖက်နဲ့ လုပ်ဖော်ကိုင်ဖက် ဗလာဒီမာ ကာရာ-မာဇာဟာ

was sentenced to 25 years in jail

ယူကရိန်းစစ်ပွဲနဲ့ ဗလာဒီမာ ပူတင် အစိုးရကို

for publicly condemning the war in Ukraine

လူသိရှင်ကြား ရှုတ်ချတဲ့အတွက်

and Vladimir Putin's regime.

ထောင်ဒဏ် ၂၅ နှစ် ချမှတ်ခံခဲ့ရတယ်။

He said in his closing statement,

သူ့ရဲ့ အပိတ် ထွက်ဆိုချက်မှာ သူ ပြောခဲ့တာက

"I know that the day will come

“ကျုပ် တို့တိုင်းပြည် ပျောက်ကွယ်သွားမယ့်

when the darkness engulfing our country will dissipate.

အမှောင်ထုကြီး လွှမ်းတဲ့နေ့ ရောက်လာလိမ့်မယ်ဆိုတာ ကျုပ် သိပါတယ်။

This day will come as inevitably

အအေးဆုံး ဆောင်းရာသီကိုတောင်

as spring comes to replace even the frostiest winter."

အစားထိုးဖို့ နွေဦးရာသီ ရောက်လာသလို ဒီနေ့ မလွှဲမရှောင်သာ ရောက်လာမှာပါ”တဲ့။

And I'll finish my speech with words

ပြီး​တော့ ၂၂ နှစ်​သမီး ကျွန်​​မကိုယ်တိုင်ရဲ့ ပုံစံ..

of ... 22-year-old version of myself.

စကာလုံးတွေနဲ့ ဟောပြောချက်ကို အဆုံးသတ်လိုက်ပါမယ်။

I said in my closing statement,

ကျွန်မရဲ့ အပိတ် ထွက်ဆိုချက်မှာ ပြောခဲ့တာက

"Passion,

“စိတ်အားထက်သန်မှု၊

openness and naivete are superior to hypocrisy,

ပွင့်လင်းမှုနဲ့ နုံအမှုတွေက ရာဇ၀တ်မှုတွေကို ဖုံးကွယ်ထားတဲ့

cunning and contrived decency that conceals crimes.

အရေခြုံ၊ ကောက်ကျစ်မှုနဲ့ လိမ်ဆင် လူ့ကျင့်ဝတ်ထက် သာလွန်ကောင်းမွန်ပါတယ်။

(In Russian) Open all doors,

(ရုရှားဘာသာ) တံခါးအားလုံး ဖွင့်လိုက်ပါ၊

take off the epaulettes,

ပခုံးဒေါက်တွေကို ချွတ်လိုက်ပါ၊

feel the smell of freedom with us.”

ကျွန်မတို့နဲ့ အတူ လွတ်လပ်မှုရဲ့ ရနံ့ကို ခံစားပါ။”
