Golan Levin: The truly soft side of software

Imagine spending seven years at MIT and research laboratories,

I'm also a software engineer,

and I make lots of different kinds of art with the computer.

I'd just like to show a clip from a most recent project.

I did a performance with two singers

who specialize in making strange noises with their mouths.

두명의 가수들과 공연을 했었습니다.

And this just came off last September at ARS Electronica;

지난 9월 ARS Electronica에서 처음 선보였고,

we repeated it in England.

영국에서도 공연을 했었습니다.

And the idea is to visualize their speech and song behind them

공연의 컨셉은 가수들의 말과 노래를 그들 뒤에 설치된 대형 스크린에

with a large screen.

We used a computer vision tracking system

in order to know where they were.

And since we know where their heads are,

and we have a wireless mic on them

that we're processing the sound from,

we're able to create visualizations
