let's look at the meaning and pronunciation of our two words.

ငါတို့စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးရဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်နဲ့ အသံထွက်ကို ကြည့်ရအောင်။

First, we'll start with ‘dessert’.

အရင်ဆုံး 'အချိုပွဲ' နဲ့ စပါမယ်။

‘desert’ is a verb.

'ကန္တာရ' သည် ကြိယာတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

It means to leave or abandon.

စွန့်လွှတ်ခြင်း သို့မဟုတ် စွန့်လွှတ်ခြင်းဟု ဆိုလိုသည်။

It means that he abandoned the family.

ဆိုလိုတာက သူ မိသားစုကို စွန့်ပစ်ခဲ့တာ။

He left the family.

မိသားစုကို ထားခဲ့တယ်။

And second,

ဒုတိယအနေနဲ့

‘Rain made everyone desert the beach.’

'မိုးက လူတိုင်းကို ကမ်းခြေကို စွန့်ခွါစေခဲ့တယ်'

The rain came.

မိုးရွာလာသည်။

And because of the rain, everyone left the beach.

မိုးရွာတာကြောင့် အားလုံးက ကမ်းခြေကနေ ထွက်သွားကြတယ်။

No one was on the beach.

ကမ်းခြေမှာ ဘယ်သူမှ မရှိခဲ့ဘူး။

The beach had no people.

ကမ်းခြေမှာ လူမရှိဘူး။

And sentence number two,

နံပါတ်နှစ်ဝါကျကတော့

‘You will get thirsty walking in the desert.’

'တောထဲမှာ လမ်းလျှောက်ရင် ရေငတ်လိမ့်မယ်' တဲ့။

‘desert’ doesn't have water so you will become thirsty.

'ကန္တာရ' မှာ ရေမရှိလို့ ရေငတ်မယ်။

You will get thirsty because there isn't any water.

ရေမရှိသောကြောင့် ရေငတ်လိမ့်မည်။

Okay pronunciation time.

ဟုတ်ပြီ အသံထွက်မှာပေါ့။
