And in this video we're going to talk about some important English expressions.

ပြီးတော့ ဒီဗီဒီယိုမှာ အရေးကြီးတဲ့ အင်္ဂလိပ်အသုံးအနှုန်းတချို့အကြောင်း ဆွေးနွေးပါမယ်။

And let's first start with 'like' and 'like to'.

ပြီးတော့ 'like' နဲ့ 'like to' နဲ့ စလိုက်ရအောင်။

'I like' and 'I like to'.

'ကြိုက်တယ်' နဲ့ 'ကြိုက်တယ်'။

First let's look at the board for some examples.

ဥပမာအချို့အတွက် ပထမဦးစွာ ဘုတ်ကို ကြည့်ကြပါစို့။

With 'I like', we have to put a person place or thing. Right?

'ငါကြိုက်တယ်' ဖြင့် လူတစ်ဦးနေရာ သို့မဟုတ် အရာတစ်ခုကို ထားရပေမည်။ ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

So let's look. "I like cookies." Right?

ကြည့်လိုက်ရအောင်။ "ကွတ်ကီးတွေကို ကြိုက်တယ်။" ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

Food is a thing.

အစားအစာသည် အရာတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

So I could say, "I like cookies. I like pizza."

"ငါ ကွတ်ကီးတွေကို ကြိုက်တယ်။ ပီဇာကြိုက်တယ်" လို့ပြောနိုင်တယ်။

Okay the next one.

ကောင်းပြီ နောက်တစ်ခု။

"I like English."

"ကျွန်တော် အင်္ဂလိပ်လို ကြိုက်တယ်။"

English is a subject in school so that's another thing.

အင်္ဂလိပ်စာသည် ကျောင်းတွင် ဘာသာရပ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်သောကြောင့် အခြားအရာတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

So I can also say, "I like math".

ဒါကြောင့် "ငါသင်္ချာကြိုက်တယ်" လို့လည်း ပြောလို့ရပါတယ်။

Right?

ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

The next one is "I like you."

နောက်တစ်ခုက "ငါမင်းကိုကြိုက်တယ်။"

You is a person.

မင်းဟာလူပဲ။

I can say, "I like him. I like Sally".

"ငါသူ့ကိုကြိုက်တယ်။ ဆယ်လီကိုကြိုက်တယ်" လို့ပြောနိုင်တယ်။

Right? I can say a person.

ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်? လူတစ်ယောက်လို့ ပြောလို့ရပါတယ်။

And "I like dogs."

ပြီးတော့ "ခွေးကြိုက်တယ်။"

That's another thing.

အဲဒါ နောက်တစ်မျိုး။

I like dogs. Or for me, personally, I like cats as well.

ခွေးတွေကို ကြိုက်တယ်။ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ကျွန်တော့်အတွက်ကတော့ ကြောင်တွေကိုလည်း ကြိုက်ပါတယ်။

Okay so let's first try these examples.

ကောင်းပြီ ဒါဆို ဒီဥပမာတွေကို အရင်စမ်းကြည့်ရအောင်။

A little bit faster.

နည်းနည်းမြန်တယ်။

Now please try to follow with me.

ယခု ကျွန်ုပ်နှင့်အတူ လိုက်ရန် ကြိုးစားပါ။

"I like cookies."

"ကွတ်ကီးတွေကို ကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like cookies."

"ကွတ်ကီးတွေကို ကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like English."

"ကျွန်တော် အင်္ဂလိပ်လို ကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like English."

"ကျွန်တော် အင်္ဂလိပ်လို ကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like you."

"မင်းကိုကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like you."

"မင်းကိုကြိုက်တယ်။"

and "I like dogs."

ပြီးတော့ "ခွေးတွေ ကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like dogs."

"ခွေးကြိုက်တယ်။"

Okay. The second example is, 'I like to'.

ဟုတ်ပြီ ဒုတိယဥပမာမှာ 'ငါကြိုက်တယ်'။

Now we put a 'to' here.

အခုဒီမှာ 'to' ရေးထားတယ်။

That means, after, I have to put an activity.

ဆိုလိုတာက ပြီးရင် လှုပ်ရှားမှုတစ်ခု လုပ်ရမယ်။

Right? An activity.

ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်? လှုပ်ရှားမှုတစ်ခု။

For example, "I like to dance."

ဥပမာ- "ကခုန်ရတာကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like to dance."

"ကခုန်ရတာကြိုက်တယ်။"

But what I want you to listen for is that 'to'

ဒါပေမယ့် နားထောင်စေချင်တာက 'to' ဟာ

becomes just like a /t/.

/t/ နဲ့တူပါတယ်။

Now it's okay to say, "I like to dance."

အခု "ကခုန်ရတာ ကြိုက်တယ်" လို့ ပြောလို့ ရပါတယ်။

"I like to dance."

"ကခုန်ရတာကြိုက်တယ်။"

That's okay. But most native English speakers

အဆင်ပြေပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် မူရင်းအင်္ဂလိပ်စကားပြောသူအများစုကတော့

will kind of get rid of the 'o' and say, "I like to dance."

'o' ကို ဖြုတ်ပြီး "ကခုန်ရတာကြိုက်တယ်" လို့ ပြောလေ့ရှိပါတယ်။

"I like to dance."

"ကခုန်ရတာကြိုက်တယ်။"

Here's the next one. "I like to sing."

ဒါကတော့ နောက်တစ်ခုပါ။ "ငါသီချင်းဆိုရတာကိုကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like to sing."

"ငါသီချင်းဆိုရတာကိုကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like to study."

"စာကျက်ရတာကြိုက်တယ်။"

"I like to shop."

"ဈေးဝယ်ရတာ ကြိုက်တယ်။"

Okay so these are all personally things that I like to do.

ကောင်းပြီ ဒါတွေအားလုံးဟာ ကိုယ်ရေးကိုယ်တာ ဝါသနာပါတဲ့အရာတွေပါ။

Actually I love to do them.

တကယ်တော့ ငါ အဲဒါတွေကို လုပ်ရတာ ကြိုက်တယ်။

But 'like to' and 'like' is a little more common.

ဒါပေမယ့် 'like to' နဲ့ 'like' က နည်းနည်းပိုသာတယ်။

Okay so let's practice these four examples one more time.

ကောင်းပြီ ဒါဆို ဒီဥပမာလေးခုကို နောက်တစ်ခေါက် လေ့ကျင့်ကြည့်ရအောင်။

A little more quickly.

နည်းနည်းပိုမြန်တယ်။

"I like to dance."

Okay let's look at some more examples together.

I like dresses.

ဝတ်စုံတွေကို ကြိုက်တယ်။

Okay so now we're going to move on to the expressions 'I don't like'.

ကဲ ဒါဆို 'ငါမကြိုက်ဘူး' ဆိုတဲ့ အသုံးအနှုန်းကို ဆက်သွားပါတော့မယ်။

And 'I don't like to'

ပြီးတော့ 'မကြိုက်ဘူး'

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ။

So if you look at the board,

ဒီတော့ ဘုတ်ကိုကြည့်လိုက်ရင်

I've changed 'I like' to 'I don't like'.

'ငါကြိုက်တယ်' 'မကြိုက်ဘူး' ဆိုပြီး ပြောင်းလိုက်တယ်။

Now it's the same.

အခုလည်း အတူတူပါပဲ။

At the end, I have to say a person, a place, or thing,

အဆုံးမှာတော့ လူတစ်ဦး၊ နေရာတစ်ခု၊ ဒါမှမဟုတ် အရာတစ်ခုလို့ ပြောရမယ်၊

Okay?

Ok?

So let's look at them together.

အဲဒါတွေကို အတူတူကြည့်ရအောင်။

"I don't like sushi."

"ဆူရှီ မကြိုက်ဘူး"

Let's try it a little bit faster.

နည်းနည်းမြန်အောင် စမ်းကြည့်ရအောင်။

"I don't like sushi."

"ဆူရှီ မကြိုက်ဘူး"

"I don't like sushi."

"ဆူရှီ မကြိုက်ဘူး"

Okay the next one is

ကောင်းပြီ နောက်တစ်ခုက

"I don't like math."

"ငါသင်္ချာမကြိုက်ဘူး"

Right?

ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

We can say, "I hate..."

“မုန်းတယ်…” လို့ ပြောနိုင်

but "I don't like" is more common.

ပေမယ့် “မကြိုက်ဘူး” က ပိုအဖြစ်များတယ်။

"I don't like math."

"သင်္ချာမကြိုက်ဘူး"

Again a little faster.

နည်းနည်းမြန်ပြန်တယ်။

"I don't like math."

"သင်္ချာမကြိုက်ဘူး"

"I don't like math."

"သင်္ချာမကြိုက်ဘူး"

The next one is...

နောက်တစ်ခုက...

"I don't like him."

"ကျွန်တော် သူ့ကို မကြိုက်ဘူး"

"I don't like him."

"ကျွန်တော် သူ့ကို မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

"I don't like him."

"ကျွန်တော် သူ့ကို မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

And the last one.

ပြီးတော့ နောက်ဆုံးတစ်ခု။

"I don't like snakes."

"မြွေမကြိုက်ဘူး"

Right, a lot of women don't like snakes.

မှန်ပါတယ်၊ အမျိုးသမီးတော်တော်များများက မြွေတွေကို မကြိုက်ကြပါဘူး။

"I don't like snakes."

"မြွေမကြိုက်ဘူး"

"I don't like snakes."

"မြွေမကြိုက်ဘူး"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

The second example is...

ဒုတိယဥပမာကတော့...

'I don't like to'.

'မကြိုက်ဘူး'။

'I don't like to'.

'မကြိုက်ဘူး'

Remember, at the end of this, we have to put an action.

ဤအဆုံးတွင်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်တစ်ခု ပြုလုပ်ရမည်ကို သတိရပါ။

Something that we do.

တစ်ခုခုတော့ လုပ်တယ်။

Right?

So we can say, "I don't like to run."

ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

ဒါကြောင့် "ငါမပြေးချင်ဘူး" လို့ပြောနိုင်တယ်။

"I don't like to run."

"ပြေးရတာ မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

Remember, again, the 'to'...

'to' ကို သတိရပါ...

You can say, "I don't like to" or "I don't like to".

"မကြိုက်ဘူး" ဒါမှမဟုတ် "မကြိုက်ဘူး" လို့ ပြောနိုင်ပါတယ်။

"I don't like to run."

"ပြေးရတာ မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

Let's try the next one.

နောက်တစ်ခု စမ်းကြည့်ရအောင်။

"I don't like to study."

"စာကျက်ရတာ မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

"I don't like to study."

"စာကျက်ရတာ မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

Okay? After that...

အဆင်ပြေလား? နောက်တော့...

"I don't like to drink."

"ငါ မသောက်ဘူး"

A little faster.

နည်းနည်းမြန်တယ်။

"I don't like to drink."

"မသောက်ဘူး"

"I don't like to drink."

"မသောက်ဘူး"

And the last one is...

နောက်ဆုံးတစ်ခုကတော့...

"I don't like to fight."

"ငါ ရန်ဖြစ်ရတာ မကြိုက်ဘူး။"

Right?

It can get a little bit scary right?

"I don't like to fight."

"I don't like to fight."

Let's look at more... some more examples together.

နောက်ထပ် ဥပမာအချို့ကို အတူတူ လေ့လာကြည့်ရအောင်။

Okay let's look at some examples.

Okay so in this video we talked about the expressions

ဒီဗီဒီယိုမှာ 'ကြိုက်တယ်...'

'I like...'

'ကြိုက်တယ်...'

' I like to...'

နဲ့ 'မကြိုက်ဘူး...'

and 'I don't like...'

'မကြိုက်ဘူး...'

'I don't like to...'

ဆိုတဲ့ အသုံးအနှုန်းတွေအကြောင်း ပြောခဲ့ကြ

But, uh, before we close up I'm going to

ပေမယ့်၊ ငါတို့ မရင်းနှီးခင်

talk about 'I like' and 'I don't like' one more time

'ငါကြိုက်တယ်' နဲ့ 'မကြိုက်ဘူး' အကြောင်းကို နောက်တစ်ခေါက် ထပ်ပြောမယ်

because there are other ways to say the same thing.

ဆိုတော့ အတူတူပဲ ပြောဖို့ တခြားနည်းလမ်းတွေ ရှိလို့။

Instead of 'I like', I can also say, 'I enjoy', or 'I love'.

'ကြိုက်တယ်' အစား 'ကြိုက်တယ်' ဒါမှမဟုတ် 'ချစ်တယ်' လို့လည်း ပြောလို့ရပါတယ်။

But remember, 'love' is very strong.

သို့သော် 'အချစ်' သည် အလွန်ခိုင်မာသည်ကို သတိရပါ။

Right, for example "I love cats."

ဟုတ်တယ်၊ ဥပမာ "ကြောင်ချစ်တယ်"

"I also love dogs." Right?

"ကျွန်တော်လည်း ခွေးတွေကို ချစ်တယ်။" ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

So 'love' is stronger than 'like'.

ဒါကြောင့် 'အချစ်' က 'ကြိုက်' ထက် ပိုခိုင်မြဲတယ်။

Okay, the next part is 'I don't like'.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်အပိုင်းကတော့ 'မကြိုက်ဘူး'။

I can also say, 'I dislike'

'မကြိုက်ဘူး' လို့ ပြောနိုင်သလို

Again, 'I dislike'.

နောက်တခါ 'မကြိုက်ဘူး' လို့လည်း ပြောနိုင်ပါတယ်။

For example, "I dislike snakes."

ဥပမာ၊ "မြွေတွေကို မကြိုက်ဘူး"

Right?

ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

or "I hate snakes."

ဒါမှမဟုတ် "မြွေတွေကို ငါမုန်းတယ်။"

Similar to 'love', 'hate' is a very strong way of saying I don't like something.

'ချစ်တယ်' နဲ့ ဆင်တူတယ်၊ 'မုန်းတယ်' ဟာ တစ်ခုခုကို မကြိုက်ဘူး လို့ ပြောနိုင်တဲ့ ပြင်းထန်တဲ့ နည်းလမ်းတစ်ခုပါ။

For example, "I hate snakes."

ဥပမာ "မြွေတွေကို ငါမုန်းတယ်"

Right, "I hate snakes."

မှန်ပါတယ်၊ မြွေတွေကို မုန်းတယ်။

တစ်ယောက်ယောက်ကို ခွင့်ပြုချက်တောင်းနည်းကို သင်ပေးမှာမို့လို့ မသင်ပေးခင်မှာ

what permission means okay so when you want to ask someone if it's okay to do

ခွင့်ပြုချက်ဆိုတာ ဘာကိုဆိုလိုသလဲဆိုတာကို အရင်ပြောရအောင်ဆိုတော့ တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်ကို မေးချင်တဲ့အခါ အဆင်ပြေရဲ့လား၊

something you're asking for permission okay again you want to do something you

မင်းခွင့်ပြုချက်တောင်းတာ တစ်ခုခု အဆင်ပြေလား မသိတဲ့ တစ်ခုခုကို ထပ်လုပ်ချင်လို့

don't know if it's okay so you ask someone for example maybe you

တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်ကို ဥပမာပေးခိုင်းရင် မင်းဖြစ်နိုင်တယ်

want to borrow something then you should ask someone if you just take it that's

တစ်ခုခု ချေးချင်လို့ ခိုးတာမှန်သလားလို့ မေးရမှာဆိုတော့

stealing right so you have to ask is it okay alright so there are three ways to

အဆင်ပြေလားလို့ မေးရမှာဆိုတော့

ask for permission in English the first way is to say can I can I okay the

အင်္ဂလိပ်လို ခွင့်ပြုချက်တောင်းဖို့ နည်းလမ်းသုံးမျိုးရှိပါတယ် ပထမနည်းကတော့ can I can I can I can't second လို့ ဖြေရမလား

second way is could I could I and the third way is may I may I okay so

၊ နည်းလမ်းက နိုင်နိုင်မလား၊ တတိယနည်းကတော့ ငါအဆင်ပြေနိုင်မလား ဒါပဲ

can I could I and may I are all good ways to ask for permission but the third

တတ်နိုင်မလား ငါလည်း တတ်နိုင်သလောက် ခွင့်ပြုချက်တောင်းလို့ရပေမယ့် တတိယနည်းလမ်းကတော့

one may I is more polite okay so if you want

ပိုယဉ်ကျေးပါတယ် ဒါကြောင့်

to ask somebody who has more power maybe your parents may be your teacher then

တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်ကို မေးချင်တယ် ဆိုရင်တော့ မင်းမိဘတွေက မင်းရဲ့ဆရာဖြစ်နိုင်ရင်

you should say may I maybe even to somebody that you don't know very well

မင်းကောင်းကောင်းမသိတဲ့သူကို ငါတောင်ပြောသင့်တယ် မင်းမိဘတွေက မင်းရဲ့ဆရာဖြစ်ကောင်းဖြစ်မယ်

it's better to say may I because again it's more polite so let's

ငါကပိုယဉ်ကျေးတယ်ဆိုတော့

look at these examples okay so I've written can I could I and

ဒီဥပမာတွေကို ကြည့်လိုက်ရအောင်နော်။ can I could I နဲ့

may I on the board remember after these three you have to

sticky today is very sticky so humid muggy and

sticky all have the same meaning when you're describing the weather now I told

Francisco San Jose and Oakland and this word is the slang word hella mm-hmm and

ဒီစကားလုံးက ဘန်းစကား hella mm-hmm ရယ်၊

it actually has two different meanings so let's look at how it's used in some

တကယ်တော့ အဓိပ္ပါယ် နှစ်ခု ကွဲလွဲနေတာမို့ တချို့စာကြောင်းတွေမှာ ဘယ်လိုသုံးထားလဲဆိုတာ ကြည့်ရအောင်ပါ

sentences okay so here's the first example sentence this room is hella hot

hmm how is hella used it's used to mean the word really or very right this room

hmm ဘယ်လိုလဲ hella သုံးတဲ့ စကားလုံးကို တကယ်လား အရမ်းမှန်တယ် ဒီအခန်းက

is very hot or this room is really hot in that case we can say this room is

အရမ်းပူတယ် အခန်းက အရမ်းပူတယ်ဆိုလို့ရှိရင် ဒီအခန်းက

hella hot mm-hmm so that's the first meaning let's move

hella hot mm-hmm ဆိုတော့ ဒါ ပထမ အဓိပ္ပါယ်က

on to the second meeting and here's another example sentence there's hella

ဒုတိယအစည်းအဝေးကို ဆက်သွားရအောင်၊ ဒါက

food at home hmm that doesn't match the word really right let's look there's

really food at home it doesn't make sense actually in the second sentence

hella is used to mean there's a lot of or there's many things right so in this

hella က အဓိပ္ပါယ်အများကြီးရှိတယ် ဒါမှမဟုတ် အများကြီးမှန်တယ်လို့ သုံးပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့်

case instead of saying there's a lot of food at home we can say there's hella

အိမ်မှာ စားစရာတွေ အများကြီးရှိတယ်လို့ ပြောမယ့်အစား အဲဒီမှာ ရှိတယ်လို့ ပြောလို့ရပါတယ်။

food at home so hurry and go home and eat some of that food now under hella

အိမ်မှာ hella food ဆိုတော့ မြန်မြန် အိမ်ပြန်ပြီး အဲဒီအစားအစာတချို့ကို အခု hella အောက်မှာ

I've written the word hecta and that's because some people feel uncomfortable

ကျနော်ရေးထားပြီး hecta ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးကို တချို့လူတွေက hella လို့ သုံးရတာ အဆင်မပြေလို့

using the word hella right because hella has the word hell right and hell can

sometimes be used to express an emotion that's negative or very strong right and

in that case people use heck right so again instead of hella some people say

hecka mmm-hmm so we can say there's hecka food at home

ဟယ်ကာဟမ်-ဟမ် ဆိုတော့ အိမ်မှာ ဟယ်ကာစားစရာတွေ ရှိတယ်လို့

again it means the same thing there's a lot of food at home there's hecka food

ထပ်ပြီး ပြောနိုင်တာကတော့ စားစရာတွေ အများကြီးပဲလို့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရပါတယ်။ အိမ်မှာ hecka food ရှိတယ်

at home but if you don't want to use hella you can use this one and in

ဒါပေမယ့် hella မသုံးချင်ဘူးဆိုရင် ဒီတစ်ခုကိုသုံးလို့ရပြီး

same way you can use hecka to substitute hella in the first sentence as well this

ပထမဝါကျမှာ hella ကို အစားထိုးဖို့အတွက် hecka ကိုသုံးနိုင်သလို ဒီ

room is hecka hot right this room is hecka hot it's very hot in

အခန်းက hecka hot ၊ ဒီအခန်းက hecka hot ဒီမှာ အရမ်းပူတယ်

here but I don't want to say hello but remember again this slang word hella and

hecta is actually from Northern California so you might not hear it or

people might not understand what you mean if you use it in other places such

ways that we can use hella or hecka in our everyday speech but I want to remind

off again these two sentences have the same meaning they both mean I'm very

angry about something or I'm very angry at somebody please also notice that we

who's living in Korea asked me to go to the beach with her so she planned

everything and all I had to do was go with her she decided we would go to

ခရီးစဉ် လေး ကို ပြောပြ ပေး ချင် ပါတယ် ၊ ကန်နမ် ကိုသွားမယ်ဆိုတော့

Kangnam so I packed my bags I met her at the bus terminal and we left at 10

အိတ်တွေကို ဘတ်စကားဂိတ်မှာတွေ့ပြီး

o'clock in the morning unfortunately we forgot that it was the

မနက် ၁၀ နာရီမှာ ထွက်ခွာသွားခဲ့တာ ကံမကောင်းစွာနဲ့ပဲ ကမ်းခြေတွေ

peak season for you know traveling especially to that area for the nice

အရမ်းကောင်းတဲ့ ကမ်းခြေတွေကို ခရီးသွားဖို့ အထူးသဖြင့် အဲဒီဒေသကို သာယာလှပတဲ့

beaches so we left at 10 o'clock in the morning but the trip took over five

ကမ်းခြေတွေဆီ ခရီးသွားဖို့ မေ့သွားခဲ့တာ ကံမကောင်းစွာဖြင့်၊ မနက် 10 နာရီမှာ ထွက်ခဲ့ပေမယ့် ခရီးက 5

hours so we arrived around 3:30 in the afternoon well we arrived it was very

နာရီကျော်လောက်ကြာတော့ နေ့လည် 3:30 လောက်မှာ ရောက်လို့ အရမ်းကောင်းတယ်။

hot we were ready to start swimming so we got on a bus and we were going to a

ပူပူနွေးနွေး ရေကူးဖို့ အဆင်သင့်ဖြစ်ပြီဆိုတော့ ဘတ်စ်ကားပေါ်တက်ပြီး ဆိတ်ငြိမ်တဲ့ကမ်းခြေလေးတစ်ခုကို သွားကြမယ်

small kind of quiet beach and the neighbor app told us it would take about

၊ ဘတ်စကားနဲ့ မိနစ်သုံးဆယ်လောက်ကြာမယ်လို့ အိမ်နီးချင်းအက်ပ်ကပြောတော့

thirty minutes by bus so we were waiting we were on the bus and 4050 minutes

ဘတ်စ်ကားပေါ်တက်ပြီး မိနစ် ၄၀၅၀ စောင့်တယ်။

passed but we didn't look any closer to the beach in fact it looked like we were

ဖြတ်သွားပေမယ့် ကမ်းခြေနဲ့ ပိုနီးတာကို မကြည့်ဘူး တကယ်တော့

going up a mountain so my friend asked the bus driver and we found that we

တောင်ပေါ်တက်နေသလိုပဲ သူငယ်ချင်းက ဘတ်စ်ကားသမားကို မေးကြည့်တော့

actually got on the bus on the wrong side of the street so we had no choice

လမ်းမှားပြီး ဘတ်စ်ကားပေါ် တက်သွားတာ တွေ့လိုက်ရတယ်။

but to wait until the bus turned around and we just went to the closest beach

ဘတ်စကားလှည့်လာတဲ့အထိ စောင့်ဖို့ကလွဲလို့ ရွေးစရာမရှိတော့ ဘဲ

that we could find and even when we got off the bus it took 20 minutes to walk

ငါတို့ရှာနိုင်တဲ့ အနီးဆုံးကမ်းခြေကို သွားလိုက်ကြတာ ဘတ်စ်ကားပေါ်ကဆင်းရင်တောင်

to that beach and by the time we arrived it was already about 6 o'clock

အဲဒီကမ်းခြေကို လမ်းလျှောက်ဖို့ မိနစ် 20 လောက်ကြာပြီး ငါတို့ရောက်တဲ့အချိန်က 6 နာရီလောက်ရှိနေပြီ။ တစ်နာရီလောက်ဆို

everybody was getting ready to leave the water was cold we didn't have time to do

အားလုံး အဆင်သင့်ဖြစ်နေကြပြီ ရေအေးအေးလေး ရေကစားဖို့ အချိန်သိပ်မရှိဘူး

much we just played in the water a little bit took some pictures and we had

ရေကစားရုံနဲ့ နည်းနည်း ဓါတ်ပုံရိုက်ပြီး

to go that night we decided to just sleep better ginger bang my back hurt it

အဲဒီညကို သွားဖို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်လိုက်တယ် ဂျင်းဘန်းနဲ့ ပိုအိပ်ဖို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်လိုက်တယ် ဒဏ်ရာက

was so hot and at 3:30 in the morning some loud people came in and woke us up

အရမ်းပူပြီး မနက် ၃း၃၀ မှာ ကျယ်လောင်တဲ့ လူတချို့ ဝင်လာပြီး နိုးလာ

so the next day we left at about 6:00 in the morning it'll need two two and a

လို့ နောက်နေ့ မနက် ၆ နာရီ ခွဲလောက်မှာ နှစ်နာရီခွဲလောက် လိုတော့မှာဘဲ

half hours but I was so glad to be home and I hope none of you ever experienced

၊ အိမ်ပြန်ရတာ အရမ်းပျော်ပြီး ဒီလို ကြောက်စရာကောင်းတဲ့ ခရီးကို ဘယ်သူမှ မကြုံဖူးကြဘူးလို့ မျှော်လင့်ပါတယ်

။ အမေရိကားမှာကြီးပြင်း လာလို့ ကိုရီးယားကို ရောက်တုန်းက ယဉ်ကျေးမှု ရှော့ပင်းဖြစ်မိတယ်

growing up in America I still used to go to Korean markets with my parents and

မိဘတွေနဲ့အတူ ကိုရီးယားဈေးကို သွားဖူးတုန်း

one of my favorite things to get there was a yogurt drink it's a small drink

ဒိန်ချဉ်သောက်ရတာ အကြိုက်တွေ့တဲ့ အချိုရည်လေးပါ

it's pink right it has a red cap and I would always buy that and I loved

ပန်းရောင်လေး ရှိတယ် အနီထုပ်လေး အမြဲဝယ်သောက်ရတာ ကြိုက်လို့

drinking it and when I took it to school my friends would always ask about it and

ကျောင်းသွားတုန်းက သူငယ်ချင်းတွေက

I would tell them it tastes like strawberry candy right and I would drink

စတော်ဘယ်ရီသကြားလုံး အရသာကို အရသာမှန်ကြောင်း ပြောပြပြီး သောက်ရတာ

it it was my favorite thing to drink so when I came to Korea a couple of years

အကြိုက်ဆုံးပဲ လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ နှစ်အနည်းငယ်က ကိုရီးယားကို လာလည်တုန်းက

ago one of the things that surprised me and shocked me but in a good way was

အံ့သြပြီး တုန်လှုပ်စေခဲ့တဲ့ အရာတွေထဲက တစ်ခုကတော့ ကောင်းကောင်းမွန်မွန်နဲ့

seeing a lady and kind of like look who looks like my mom or an aunt she was

အမေနဲ့ အဒေါ်နဲ့တူတဲ့ လှည်း

pushing a cart and when I found out what she was selling that's when I was

တွန်းနေတဲ့ အမျိုးသမီးကို တွေ့လိုက်ရတဲ့အချိန်၊

surprised she was selling my yogurt drink the one that I loved so much when

ငယ်ငယ်တုန်းက အရမ်းကြိုက်တဲ့ ဒိန်ချဉ်ဖျော်ရည်ရောင်းတာ အံ့သြ သွားတဲ့အခါ သူမရောင်းတာတွေ့လိုက်

I was young and not only that she sold that but also other drinks from that

ရတာက အဲဒီဒိန်ချဉ်ကုမ္ပဏီက တခြားအချိုရည်တွေကို ရောင်းရုံတင်မကဘူး

yogurt company so I thought it was just a great way to you know get the drink

ဒါပဲလို့ထင်ခဲ့တာ။ အထူးသဖြင့် နွေဦးရာသီ ဒါမှမဟုတ် နွေရာသီမှာ

that you like especially for people who don't have time to go to the store or

အအေးတစ်ခုခု သောက်ချင်

people who are far away from a store but are very thirsty who want something cool

တဲ့သူတွေ ဒါမှမဟုတ် စတိုးဆိုင်နဲ့ဝေးပေမယ့် အရမ်းရေငတ်တဲ့လူတွေအတွက် အထူးသဖြင့် ကြိုက်တဲ့

to drink especially in spring or summer so that's my story of my culture shock

အခု ကိုရီးယားကို လာလည်တဲ့ ယဉ်ကျေးမှု ရှော့ပင်း ဗီဒီယို လေး ကို ကိုရီးယား နဲ့ အမေရိက ကို ရောက် လာ တာ က စျေးဝယ် ရတာ ကြိုက် တာ တစ်ခု က

that I love to do is shop I love shopping but when I first went shopping

ဈေးဝယ် ရတာ ကြိုက် တာ ဘဲ ကိုရီး ယား ကို စတိုးဆိုင် မှာ

in Korea at a department store I was surprised by one thing and that

စျေးဝယ် တုန်းက လည်း ဝေမျှ ပေး မှာပါ ။

thing was the salespeople what's surprising is well when you go to store

အံ့သြမိတာတစ်ခုက အရောင်းသမားတွေ က အမေရိကားမှာ

in America and yes you will have a salesperson come and ask can I help you

စတိုးဆိုင်ကိုသွားတဲ့အခါ အံ့သြစရာကောင်းတာက အရောင်းဝန်ထမ်းတစ်ယောက်က မင်းကိုကူညီနိုင်မလား

or may I help you but if you say no I don't need help

ဒါမှမဟုတ် ငါကူညီပေးလို့ရမလားဆိုပြီး မေးလာလိမ့်မယ်၊ ဒါပေမယ့် မင်းမပြောလိုက်ရင် ငါမလုပ်ဘူး။ အကူအညီမလိုဘူး

or no I'm just looking that salesperson will usually go away and do their own

မလိုပါဘူး အရောင်းသမားက များသောအားဖြင့် အဝေးကိုသွားပြီး ကိုယ့်

work but in Korea it's a little different right when I came to Korea and

အလုပ်ကိုယ်လုပ်တတ်ပေမယ့် Korea မှာ နည်းနည်းကွဲလွဲလို့ ကိုရီးယားရောက်တာနဲ့

I went shopping the salesperson came and they asked me if I needed any help and I

စျေးဝယ်ထွက်တဲ့ အရောင်းဝန်ထမ်းက အကူအညီလိုရင် မေးတယ် ငါ

said no I'm just looking but instead of going away they actually kept following

ကြည့်နေတာမဟုတ်ဘူးလို့ ပြောလိုက်ပေမယ့် အဝေးကိုထွက်သွားမယ့်အစား သူတို့က

me right they stood next to me or they stood behind me and they kept trying to

ငါ့နောက်ကို လိုက်နေကြတယ် ဒါမှမဟုတ် ငါ့နောက်မှာရပ်ပြီး

help me so if I was looking at something like a t-shirt or a blouse they would

ငါ့ကိုကူညီဖို့ အမြဲကြိုးစားနေတော့ ငါတီရှပ်လိုမျိုး တစ်ခုခုကိုကြည့်နေတယ်ဆို အင်္

say oh that shirt is very popular or oh that shirt would look great on you or

ကျီက အရမ်းလူကြိုက်များတယ် ဒါမှမဟုတ် အင်္ကျီက မင်းအတွက်ကောင်းမယ် ဒါမှမဟုတ်

that shirt is on sale and yes so that's the first difference and another thing

ဒီအင်္ကျီက ရောင်းနေပြီ ဟုတ်လား ဒါဒါက ပထမဆုံး ကွာခြားချက် နောက်တစ်ခုကတော့

is when in Korea when you go and try on the clothes in a dressing room or

မင်းကိုရီးယားမှာ သွားကြည့်တဲ့အခါ အဝတ်အစားကို စမ်းကြည့်တဲ့အခါ၊ အဝတ်လဲခန်း ဒါမှမဟုတ်

fitting room the mirror is on the outside so after you try it on you have

အဝတ်လဲခန်းက မှန်က အပြင်ဘက်မှာ ရှိတာဆိုတော့ စမ်းကြည့်ပြီးရင်

to come outside where everyone can see and see how you look and you'll probably

လူတိုင်းမြင်နိုင်တဲ့ အပြင်ကို ထွက်လာရမှာ ဖြစ်ပြီး မင်း

have the salesperson there again saying how you look but in America the

ပုံပန်းသဏ္ဍာန်ကို အရောင်းဝန်ထမ်းက အဲဒီနေရာမှာ ထပ်ပြီး ပြောနေပေမယ့် အမေရိကမှာ

fitting room or the dressing room has the mirrors inside so you can just take

အံဝင်ခွင်ကျ ဖြစ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ အခန်း (သို့) အဝတ်လဲခန်းအတွင်း မှန်များပါရှိသောကြောင့် ယူဆောင်သွားနိုင်ပါသည်။

all the clothes that you want to try go into the fitting room and just try it on

စမ်းချင်​တဲ့အဝတ်​အထည်​​တွေအကုန်​ ဝတ်​ခန်းထဲဝင်​ပြီး စမ်းကြည့်​လိုက်​ရုံနဲ့

there's nobody else that can see you so that's a little bit more comfortable for

​တွေ့နိုင်​တဲ့သူမှမရှိတာ​ကြောင့်​ နည်းနည်းသက်​​တောင့်​သက်​သာဖြစ်​​နေတာ

me right so yes in Korea the salespeople will help you they'll be very kind and

မို့ Korea မှာ​တော့ ​ရောင်းသူ​တွေက အရမ်း​စေတနာထားပြီး ကူညီ​ပေးမှာပါ အမေရိကားမှာ

they'll really try to help you choose the right outfit for you while in

ရှိစဉ်က မင်းအတွက် သင့်တော်တဲ့ ၀တ်စုံကို ရွေးချယ်ဖို့ သူတို့တကယ်ကြိုးစားပြီး မင်း ကို

America they'll kind of let you have the freedom to choose on your own and try

ကိုယ့်ဘာသာ လွတ်လပ်စွာ ရွေးချယ်ခွင့်ပေးပြီး မင်း

the clothes out on your own as for me I think I said something similar before

အဝတ်အစားကို မင်းဘာသာပြန်စမ်းပါ ငါနဲ့တူတယ်လို့ ထင်တယ် အရင်ကတော့

but I prefer shopping in America I like you know not having the salesperson

or a culture shock that I had when I came to Korea now what happened was I

တုန်လှုပ်ချောက်ချားမှု ဒါမှမဟုတ် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုလှုပ်ခတ်မှုအကြောင်း ပြောပြချင်တာက အခုဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့တာ

used the word ajumma in an impolite way and I didn't know it but I learned

က ajumma ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးကို မယဉ်ကျေးတဲ့နည်းနဲ့ သုံးခဲ့တာလား မသိပေမယ့်၊ ဒီယဉ်ကျေးမှု တုန်လှုပ်ခြောက်ခြားဖွယ်ရာ အတွေ့အကြုံကနေ သင်ယူခဲ့ရတဲ့

through this culture shock experience so what happened was I was shopping and I

အဖြစ်အပျက်က ဈေးဝယ်ထွက်ပြီး

had picked out some clothes that I wanted to buy and I was waiting in line

ကိုယ်ဝယ်ချင်တဲ့ အဝတ်အစားတချို့ကို ရွေးထုတ်ပြီး တန်းစီစောင့်ဆိုင်းနေတာကြောင့်

and the line was rather long and it was taking a long time to pay for my things

တန်းစီရတာ ရှည်လျားပြီး ပစ္စည်းတွေကို ပေးချေဖို့ အချိန်အတော်ကြာပါတယ်

and I guess I was starting to feel a little bit annoyed or upset because I

။ စောင့်ရတာကြာ လို့ စိတ်တိုတာ နည်းနည်းစိတ်ဆိုးလာတယ်ထင်တယ်

was waiting so long and I finally went to the register the to pay for my stuff

နောက်ဆုံးတော့ ငါ့ပစ္စည်းတွေ ပေးချေဖို့ စာရင်းသွင်းဖို့ သွားလိုက်

but the person behind me an older woman was kind of pushing me right it was I

ပေမယ့် ငါ့နောက်က အသက်ကြီးတဲ့ မိန်းမတစ်ယောက်က ငါ့ကို တွန်းနေတာ မှန်တယ် ငါ

was almost done paying but she was pushing me so that she could pay next

and I usually never do this but because I wasn't feeling too good I said to her

Korean ahjumma က သူ့ကိုစောင့်ပါ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ahjumma လိုမျိုးတစ်ခုခုကို

ahjumma please wait your turn and at first she seemed surprised and she kind

စောင့်ပေးပါ ahjumma ကျေးဇူးပြုပြီး မင်းရဲ့အလှည့်ကို အရင်စောင့်ပါ သူမ အံ့သြသွားပုံရပြီး

of moved back and she looked sorry but soon her facial expression began to

ပြန်ပြောင်းသွားကာ စိတ်မကောင်းဖြစ်ဟန်တူပေမယ့် မကြာခင်မှာ သူမရဲ့ မျက်နှာအမူအရာက ပြောင်းလဲလာပြီး

change and she was angry and she yelled at me in front of everybody

she said is something like you know how dare you call me a demon or who are you

to call me ahjumma and I was very surprised

ahjumma လို့ ခေါ်ရမလား ငါအရမ်းအံ့သြသွားတယ်

I thought you call older women ajumma so I didn't know what to say so I quickly

မင်းအသက်ကြီးတဲ့မိန်းမတွေ ajumma လို့ပဲခေါ်တော့ ငါဘာပြောရမှန်းတောင်မသိဘူး ဒါကြောင့်

grabbed my stuff and just ran away later I asked my friends what I did

ငါ့ပစ္စည်းတွေကို အမြန်ဖမ်းပြီး ထွက်ပြေးသွားတော့ ငါ့သူငယ်ချင်းတွေ ငါဘာတွေမှားခဲ့လဲ ငါ

wrong and what I learned is that you shouldn't call people ajumma

သိခဲ့ရတာတွေကို မေးတယ် လူတွေကို ajumma လို့ မခေါ်သင့်ဘူး

even if they are además you should say I should have said chögyal or something

ငါ chögyal ပြောသင့်တယ် ဒါမှ မဟုတ် တစ်ခုခုပြောသင့်တယ် လို့ ပြောသင့်တယ်

like that so that's what I learned through my experience I should not call

ဒါမှ ငါ အတွေ့အကြုံ အရ ငါ

share about my first experience at the beaches in Korea now I'm from Southern

ကိုရီးယားမှာရှိတဲ့ ကမ်းခြေတွေမှာ ငါ့ရဲ့ ပထမဆုံး အတွေ့အကြုံအကြောင်း ပြောပြချင်တာက တောင်ပိုင်း

California which is famous for its nice weather and nice beaches so one of the

ကယ်လီဖိုးနီးယားက ရာသီဥတု သာယာပြီး သာယာတဲ့ ကမ်းခြေတွေ ဖြစ်လို့

things I loved to do during the summer was pack my bags and go to the beach and

နွေရာသီမှာ လုပ်ရတာ ကြိုက်တဲ့ အရာတစ်ခု ပါ။ အိတ်တွေ ထုပ်ပိုးပြီး ကမ်းခြေကိုသွားကာ

just tan and relax and swim with my friends so when I came to Korea I was

အသားအရောင်ညိုပြီး သူငယ်ချင်းတွေနဲ့ ရေကူးရင်း အေးအေးလူလူမို့ ကိုရီးယားကို ရောက်တဲ့အခါ

really excited about going to the beach for the first time in Korea but when I

ကမ်းခြေကို ပထမဆုံးသွားရတာကို အရမ်းစိတ်လှုပ်ရှားမိပေမယ့် ရောက်တဲ့အခါမှာတော့

arrived I was very surprised to see certain things first of all I was very

အရမ်းအံ့သြသွားမိတယ် တစ်ချို့အရာတွေက ပထမဆုံးအနေနဲ့

surprised because the girls in Korea were wearing heels

ကိုရီးယားက မိန်းကလေးတွေက ဒေါက်ဖိနပ်

very nice heels but heels to the beach and that was surprising because it seems

အရမ်းကောင်းတဲ့ ဒေါက်ဖိနပ်တွေစီးထားတာကြောင့် ကမ်းခြေမှာ ဒေါက်ဖိနပ်စီးရတာ အံသြစရာဖြစ်ပေမဲ့

like it would be uncomfortable but that's what they were wearing and also

ဝတ်ထားသလိုပဲ ဝတ်ထားတာကြောင့်

everyone was relaxing under a parasol so that they wouldn't get tanned and that

အံသြစရာကောင်းလောက်အောင်ကို အံသြမိပါတယ် ပါရာဆာတွေက အသားအရောင်မညီဘဲ

was surprising as well and the last thing that really surprised me was that

အံ့သြစရာကောင်းလောက်အောင်ကို အံ့သြစရာကောင်းတာက

all the girls wore t-shirts and shorts so they were covering themselves they

မိန်းကလေးတွေအားလုံးက တီရှပ်နဲ့ ဘောင်းဘီတိုတွေ ၀တ်ထားတာကြောင့်

were covering their swimming suits when they played in the water so those were

ရေကူးဝတ်စုံကို ၀တ်ထားကြတာ၊ ရေဆိုတော့ ဒီ

three things that were really surprising to me when I first went to the beach in

သုံးချက်က တကယ်ကို အံ့ဩဖို့ကောင်းတာ အခု Korea ကမ်းခြေကို အရင်သွားတုန်းက

Korea now there were some things that I didn't like about the beach here in

အခု Korea ကမ်းခြေမှာ မကြိုက်တဲ့ တစ်ချို့အရာတွေ

Korea I didn't like that you had to pay to borrow the parasol I guess it makes

ချေးပေးရတာကို မကြိုက်ဘူး ပါရာဆောင်းဆိုတာ

sense but I didn't like that I also thought the waves were too small I like

အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရှိမယ်ထင်တယ် ဒါပေမယ့် လှိုင်းတွေက သေးလွန်းတာကို မကြိုက်ဘူး

big waves when I'm swimming and playing at the beach but here the waves were

ကမ်းခြေမှာ ရေကူးဆော့တဲ့အခါ လှိုင်းကြီးတာကို

small and the sand was very rough and it hurt my feet but some things I really

ကြိုက်တယ် ဒါပေမယ့် ဒီမှာ လှိုင်းလေးတွေ က သဲက အရမ်းကြမ်းတယ် ခြေထောက်နာပေမယ့်

liked about the beaches for example I like that you can borrow a tube to ride

ကမ်းခြေနဲ့ပတ်သက်တဲ့ တစ်ချို့အရာတွေကို ငါအရမ်းကြိုက်တယ် ဥပမာ ငါကြိုက်တာက မင်း

in the water and that was really fun for me

ရေထဲမှာစီးဖို့ စက်ရေတွင်းတစ်ချောင်း ငှားလို့ရတယ်၊ အဲဒါက ငါ့အတွက် တကယ်ပျော်စရာကောင်းပြီး

and I also liked that you can order food like chicken or anything and get it

ကြက်သား ဒါမှမဟုတ် ဘာမဆို အစားအသောက်တွေ မှာယူလို့ရတာကို ကြိုက်တယ်။

delivered to where you're resting and I thought that was a really cool thing to

မင်းအနားယူတဲ့နေရာကို ပို့ပေးပြီး အဲဒါက တကယ်ကို မိုက်တယ်ထင်ခဲ့တာ

do okay well that's what happened when I first went to the beach I really enjoyed

big difference between prices in Korea and America well one thing that

foreigners really like when they come to Korea is that when you go to a

စားသောက်ဆိုင်သွားတဲ့အခါ

restaurant or when you buy something there's no taxes right there's no tax

ဒါမှမဟုတ် တစ်ခုခုဝယ်တဲ့အခါ အခွန်မဆောင်ဘဲ ပေးဆောင်ရမယ့်အခွန်မရှိသလို

that you have to pay or when you go to a restaurant or you know get your nails

စားသောက်ဆိုင်ကိုသွားတဲ့အခါ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ပေးဆောင်ရမယ့် အခွန်လည်း မရှိပါဘူး။ လက်သည်းအလှပြင်ဆိုင်မှာ လက်သည်း

done at a nail salon you don't have to pay tip right so if I go to a restaurant

လုပ်ရင် tip ပေးစရာ မလိုဘူး ဒါကြောင့် စားသောက်ဆိုင်ကိုသွားပြီး

and I order a bowl of kimchi jjigae and it's six thousand won that's exactly the

Kimchi jjigae တစ်ပန်းကန် မှာရင် ဝမ်ခြောက်ထောင် ဆိုတော့

price I have to pay when I finish my meal and that's really good right people

ထမင်းစားပြီးရင် ပေးရမယ့် စျေးအတိအကျပဲ၊ တကယ်တော်တဲ့လူတွေက

like that a lot but the story is quite different when you go to America because

အရမ်းကြိုက်ကြပေမယ့် အမေရိကားကိုသွားတဲ့အခါ ဇာတ်လမ်းက တော်တော်ကွာခြားသွားတာမို့

you have to pay a sales tax whenever you buy something and you have to pay tip

တစ်ခုခုဝယ်တဲ့အခါတိုင်း အရောင်းခွန်ပေးဆောင်ရပြီး

usually to someone who's serving you or helping you so in California which is

ကယ်လီဖိုးနီးယားမှာ ကူညီပေးနေတဲ့သူတစ်ယောက်ကို ဘောက်ဆူးပေးလေ့ရှိပါတယ်။

where I'm from the sales tax is about 10% now this the sales tax is different

အရောင်းခွန်က 10% လောက်ရှိတော့ အခု အရောင်းအခွန်က တိုင်းနဲ့ ပြည်နယ်နဲ့ မတူသလို တချို့နေရာတွေမှာ

in every state and I think in some places there is no sales tax I've heard

အရောင်းခွန်မရှိဘူးလို့ ထင်တယ်

but yes most places you have to pay a sales tax of about 10% so if I buy a

ဒါပေမယ့် အရောင်းခွန် ပေးရတဲ့ နေရာ အများစုကတော့ ဟုတ်ပါတယ်၊ 10% လောက်ဆိုတော့

nice coat that's $100 I'll have to pay 10% which is $10 so I'll pay about 110

$100 အင်္ကျီကောင်းကောင်းဝယ်ရင် 10% က $10 ပေးရမှာဆိုတော့ $110 လောက်ပေးရမှာ

dollars so when I say when you see a tag that says $100

ဆိုတော့ $100 လို့ရေးထားတဲ့ tag ကိုတွေ့ရင်

you should remember I'm going to have to pay a little bit more when I give my

ငါသွားတော့မယ်မှတ်ထားသင့်တယ် ငါ့ပိုက်ဆံ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ငါ့ကတ်ကို ပေးတဲ့အခါ နည်းနည်းပိုပေးရတာ

money or my card and the same goes for tip we like I said earlier we have to

pay it to anybody who helps us now for example again if I go to a restaurant

and there's a server which we call waiter right waiter or

waitress we have to tip them to say thank you or maybe a hotel someone

စားပွဲထိုး စားပွဲထိုးလို့ခေါ်တဲ့ ဆာဗာကို ကျေးဇူးတင်ကြောင်းပြောဖို့ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ဟိုက တယောက်ယောက်က

helped me carry my bags the bellboy I have to give them a tip now a tip is

ငါ့ကို အိတ်တွေ သယ်ခိုင်းဖို့ ကူညီပေးတဲ့ bellboy ကို အခု tip ပေးတာက

usually about 15% 15% so it's a little bit more than taxes in California but I

အများအားဖြင့် 15% 15% လောက်ဆိုတော့ အဲဒါက ကယ်လီဖိုးနီးယားမှာအခွန်ထက်နည်းနည်းပိုပါတယ် ဒါပေမယ့်ငါ

say usually because the amount of tip you want to give base shows how happy

ပြောချင်တာက မင်းပေးချင်တဲ့ tip ပမာဏက

you are with the service for example usually people give 15% but sometimes if

မင်းဝန်ဆောင်မှုကိုဘယ်လောက်ပျော်တယ်ဆိုတာပြသနေတာကြောင့် ဥပမာ များသောအားဖြင့် လူတွေက 15% ပေးတတ်ကြပေမယ့် တစ်ခါတစ်လေ

somebody was very happy with the service you know maybe the waiter was very nice

တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်က မင်းသိတဲ့ ဝန်ဆောင်မှုကို အရမ်းပျော်နေတယ်ဆိုရင် စားပွဲထိုးက အရမ်းသဘောကောင်း

and the waiter got everything right and they did everything perfectly and the

ပြီး စားပွဲထိုးက အရာရာတိုင်းကို ပြီးပြည့်စုံအောင် လုပ်ခဲ့ပြီး

customer was in a good mood and maybe they have a lot of money they might give

ဖောက်သည်က စိတ်ကောင်းရှိပြီး

a very big tip to the waiter sometimes in some nice restaurants people give

စားပွဲထိုးကို ဘောက်ဆူးအများကြီးပေးတတ်သလို တစ်ခါတရံ စားသောက်ဆိုင်ကောင်းကောင်းတွေမှာ လူတွေက

$100 tips even though their meal was a lot less ok so again you can show how

$100 ဘောက်ဆူး ပေးတတ်ကြတယ်၊ သူတို့ အစားအသောက်က အများကြီး သက်သာပေမယ့်

happy you are with the tip that you give now on the other hand let's say that you

တစ်ဖက်က ပေးတဲ့ tip နဲ့ သင် ဘယ်လောက်ပျော်နေတယ်ဆိုတာ ပြနိုင်ပြန်တယ်

went to a restaurant and the service was horrible

စားသောက်ဆိုင်ကို သွားပြီး ဝန်ဆောင်မှုက အရမ်းမိုက်တယ်

ok the waiter forgot your food the waiter dropped your drink

စားပွဲထိုးက စားပွဲထိုးက အစားအသောက်ကို မေ့သွားတယ် ဆိုကြပါစို့။ မင်းရဲ့အရက်ကို

the waiter ignored you every time you try to get his attention then you can

စားပွဲထိုးက မင်းအာရုံစိုက်ဖို့ကြိုးစားတိုင်း မင်းကိုလျစ်လျူရှုခဲ့ပြီး

leave a small tip maybe 10% maybe 5% in some cases if you are really unhappy if

တစ်ချို့ကိစ္စတွေမှာ မင်းတကယ်မပျော်ရင် တစ်ချို့ကိစ္စတွေမှာ 10% ဖြစ်နိုင်သလို 5% က

some people are really unhappy with the service they sometimes leave no tip and

tip လေးတွေထားခဲ့ လို့ရတယ် ဘောက်ဆူး မထွက်ဘူး

leaving no tip means I'm not coming back here again your service was horrible

ဆိုလိုတာက မင်းရဲ့ဝန်ဆောင်မှုက ဆိုးလွန်းလို့ နောက်တစ်ခါ ဒီကိုပြန်မလာတော့ဘူးဆိုလို့

right then the waiter will get the idea ah ok I did a bad job right so remember

စားပွဲထိုးက အကြံရလာလိမ့်မယ် ah ok ငါအလုပ်မကောင်းတာမှန်လိုက်တာ

taxes and tips are something you have to keep in mind when you go shopping or

မင်းဈေးဝယ်ထွက်တဲ့အခါ မင်းမှတ်သားထားရမယ့် အခွန်နဲ့ အကြံပြုချက်တွေကို မှတ်ထားပါ။ ဒါမှမဟုတ်

when you eat somewhere or when you whenever you spend money remember the

တစ်နေရာရာမှာ စားတဲ့အခါ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ပိုက်ဆံသုံးတဲ့အခါတိုင်း

price that you see is not the price that you'll pay in the end

a little city in Southern California it's about 20 minutes away from Los

မျှဝေချင်ပါတယ် Burbank Burbank သည် ကယ်လီဖိုးနီးယားတောင်ပိုင်းရှိ မြို့ငယ်လေးဖြစ်ပြီး Los Angeles မှ မိနစ် 20 ခန့် ဝေး

Angeles and about five minutes away from Hollywood so Burbank is known for its

ပြီး Hollywood မှ 5 မိနစ်ခန့် ဝေးသောကြောင့် Burbank သည် ရုပ်ရှင်စတူဒီယိုကြီးများ ကဲ့သို့

movie studios if any of you guys like movies out there some of the big movie

studios such as Warner Brothers and Disney have their Studios in Burbank so

one of the things I remember growing up was whenever my mom would drive home we

TV shows on the studios so that was one of the things I remember about growing

up and Burbank now because there are many TV and movie studios in Burbank

another special thing about growing up there was going to school with some

people in movies and TV shows now none of them were very famous there were some

people who were main characters in some popular movies but not any big stars

၊ နာမည်ကြီး ရုပ်ရှင်တချို့မှာ အဓိက ဇာတ်ကောင်တွေ ဖြစ်ခဲ့ကြပေမယ့် ကြယ်ပွင့်ကြီးတွေတော့ မဟုတ်ဘူး

unfortunately but yes growing up in Burbank not me but people

ကံမကောင်းပေမယ့် Burbank မှာ ကြီးပြင်းလာကြပါတယ်။ ငါမဟုတ်ပေမယ့်

I know have seen some celebrities and maybe even directors walking around and

ငါသိတဲ့လူတွေက နာမည်ကြီးတချို့ကို မြင်ဖူးပြီး ဒါရိုက်တာတွေတောင် ငါ့ကျောင်းမှာ လမ်းလျှောက်လာရင်း

coming and speaking at my school and things like that

and one example of that was also when I was in fifth grade my elementary school

teacher was friends with a talk-show host

so I remember being interviewed by him for a Father's Day holiday special yeah

so some of the things if you were to visit

ကြောင့် Burbank ကို သွားလည်ရင်

Burbank that you would see might be you know celebrities the studios and Burbank

စတူဒီယိုမှာ နာမည်ကြီးတွေ သိပြီး Burbank က

is also known for having great weather it's pretty hot it's warm on most days

အရမ်းပူတယ် ရာသီဥတုကလည်း အရမ်းပူတယ်။ နေ့တော်တော်များများမှာ

so great weather palm trees lots of little stores and lots of homes for

ရာသီဥတုအရမ်းပူလို့ ထန်းပင်လေးတွေ စတိုးဆိုင်လေးတွေ အများကြီးနဲ့

families so if you do visit Los Angeles why don't you take some time to visit

မိသားစုအိမ်တွေ အများကြီးမို့လို့ Los Angeles ကိုသွားလည်ရင် Burbank ကိုဘာလို့အချိန်မယူတာလဲ
