First I'll say the sentence quickly.

Really listen.

‘I'm close to the door so I'll close it.’

Now again, but slower.

Okay let's see the sentence.

What words go in these two gaps?

Well the answer is -

আচ্ছা উত্তর হল-

‘I'm close to the door so I'll close it.’

'আমি দরজার কাছে আছি তাই বন্ধ করে দেব।'

You can see that they look the same,

আপনি দেখতে পারেন যে তারা দেখতে একই,

but they mean different things.

কিন্তু তারা ভিন্ন জিনিস মানে।

Now, let's have a look at our two words.

এখন, আসুন আমাদের দুটি শব্দের দিকে নজর দেওয়া যাক।

We have ‘close’ and ‘close’.

আমাদের কাছে 'ক্লোজ' এবং 'ক্লোজ' আছে।

They are spelled in the same way,

তারা একই ভাবে বানান করা হয়,

but they have different meanings

কিন্তু তাদের ভিন্ন অর্থ

and different pronunciation.

এবং ভিন্ন উচ্চারণ আছে।

It's what we call a heteronym.

এটাকে আমরা একটি ভিন্নার্থক শব্দ বলি।

What's a heteronym?

Two words.

Same spelling.

Different meaning.

Let's start with the meaning

আমাদের প্রথম শব্দের

and pronunciation of our first word -

অর্থ এবং উচ্চারণ দিয়ে শুরু করা যাক

‘close’

- 'ক্লোজ'

‘close’ is an adjective.

'ক্লোজ' একটি বিশেষণ।

It means that something is near to me.

এর মানে হল কিছু আমার কাছাকাছি।

I have two sentences to help show this.

এটা দেখানোর জন্য আমার কাছে দুটি বাক্য আছে।

The first one,

প্রথমটি,

‘You're standing too close to me.’

'তুমি আমার খুব কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে আছো।'

The person is too near.

লোকটা খুব কাছে।

They're taking up my room - my space.

তারা আমার রুম দখল করছে - আমার জায়গা।

It's a physical distance.

এটা একটা শারীরিক দূরত্ব।

You're too close to me.

তুমি আমার খুব কাছের।

The second sentence isn't a physical distance,

দ্বিতীয় বাক্যটি একটি শারীরিক দূরত্ব নয়,

but an emotional one.

তবে একটি আবেগপূর্ণ।

‘My mother and I are very close.’

'আমার মা আর আমি খুব কাছাকাছি।'

My mother isn't here right now.

We're not physically close,

we're emotionally close.

We have a very good relationship.

An action word.

একটি কর্ম শব্দ।

It means to shut.

এর অর্থ বন্ধ করা।

The opposite is to open.

উল্টোটা খুলতে হয়।

I have two sentences to show you this.

First one,

‘Please close the window. I'm cold.’

Now let's have a look at pronunciation.

এখন আসুন উচ্চারণটি দেখে নেওয়া যাক।

Now let's have a look at our main sentence.

এখন আমাদের মূল বাক্যটি দেখে নেওয়া যাক।

We've looked at ‘close’ and ‘close’,

but let's not forget ‘I'm’ and ‘I’ll’.
