that you, yes you, pronouncing incorrectly.

واراهنكم بأنكم سوف تتفاجئون بذلك

دعونا نسمع ماذا ستقول هذه الفتاة الإنكليزية

with missing finger nails is gonna accuse me of.

ذات طلاء الأظافر المفقودة وماذا سوف تتهمنا به

So A lot of you will be here, because you want to improve English speaking and pronounciation and sound that you want to be more professional .

When I come to improving the pronounciation

لان احياناكثيرة القراءة وحدها ليست كافية

and sometimes reading just isn't enough, but listening audiobooks really shows you how each word is pronounced.

Now, the first one is this one, Hermés. Heyyy...

اول كلمة هى هذه

What a Gorgeous brand, and I always always wanted one of their fancy belts.

انها علامة رائعة انا دائما

دائما كنت اتمنى اقتناء واحد من احزمتهم الفاخرة

I've never been able to justify one those.

ولم اتمكن من الحصول على واحد

This one, I used to pronounce that "HƠ-MEI-S".

هذه كنت أنطقها هيرمز

But upon doing my research, I found out that It should be pronounced, "E-MES", "E-MES".

لكن بعد البحث عنها

وجدت انها تنطق هيرميز

هيرميز هيرمز

"E-MES"

Not because it's a French designer and the "H" is silent.

لأنها من تصميم فرنسي

وصوت ح صامت

The next one,"ADIDAS" this one, oh my god, I've heard so many variations for the pronounciation.

اما الثانية هذه يا إلهى

سمعت أنواع متعددة

فى نطق هذه العلامة

And this brand

I'll give you a clue, the founder of the brand which is called "Adolph Dassler"

وساعطيكم دليل

لان مؤسس العلامة يدعي ادولف دسيلير

"Adolph Dassler"

وكانوا يلقبونه ب ادي

And nick name was "A-DI"

So brand is an fusion of his nick name and his surname.

لذا العلامة هي تركيب للقبه واسمه الحقيقي

his nick name-ADI, and his surname is DAS => ADIDAS.

لقبه ادي واسمه الحقيقى داس

ادي داس

I sometimes hear /a'dides/ or /adi'das/ or /a'di'das/

أحيانا نسمع أديداس ايديداس او ادداس

But yeah, it should be /'adidas/.

لكن نعم لا بد أن تكون ادي داس

The next one, another French one, one I am likely to butcher

العلامة الثانية فرنسية

وكنت أنطقها بطريقة بشعة

It is what I would originally called "BALMAN".

وكنت أنطقها بالمين

But it should actually be pronouced /Bou mân/, /Bou mân/

لكن لابد من نطقها بالامي بالامي

The Frenchies don't like pronouncing the end the "N" of words.

لان الفرنسيون لا يحبون نطق

حرف ن فى اخر الكلمة

/Bou-ma/, /Bou-ma/. I think I need a France lesson.

بالامي بالمي

اعتقد بأنني تحتاج لدروس للغة الفرنسية

Then we have this one, "LOEWE".

وعندنا هذه الكلمة

Like many of you, I imagine, I looked at this and I thought /LOU/

كما كثير منكم اتخيله واراه كلاتي

وكنت احسبها ليو

I thought it was gonna be called /LOU/. But it's not

وكنت أنطقها ليو

It's the Spanish brand and that "W" is actually pronounced "V"

لكنها ليس كذلك

وهى علامة اسبانية وحرق و تنطق فو

So it is /LU-E-VI/ , /LU-'E-VI/, /LU-E-'VI/, /LU-E-VI/.

اذا هى ليوفى

ليوفي

ليوفى

ليوفي

That's a sexy word.

وهى كلمة جذابة

The next one "MOCHINO". It is not /MƠ-SHI-NOU/

والكلمة التالية

ليست موسيجينو

It is not /MƠ-SHI-NOU/. It is actually pronounced /MÔ-SKI:-NOU/ , /MÔ-SKI:-NOU/.

وليس موسكينو

لكن فى الواقع مسكينو

which is, because, it is an Italian brand and anything with "SCH", I say "SKI:", "SKI:", /MÔ-SKI:-NOU/.

لأنها ايطالية

واي شي ي ش ك تنطق سك مسكينو

There are something on my floor, "VERSACE". It's /VỜ-SÁ-SI/

ويوجد شي على ارضيتى

فيرساتشى

Actually, it's not a /VỜ-SÁ-SI/.

وحقيقة ليس فيرساتشى

It is an Italian word and it should be /VỜ-SHÁ-SI/

وهى كلمة ايطالية

/VỜ-SHÁ-SI/

فيرساج

The next one "NIKE".

والتالية ليس نايك

It's not /NAIK/. It is /NAI-KÌ/

بل نايكي

نايكي

The next one is "THIERRY MUGLER".

والتالية اقل ثيري موغلر

And it's more /THÌ-E-LÝ MU-G-LỜ/.

وهى أكثر من ثيري موغلر

We will so have "SAINT LAURENT". Instead of /SAN-LO-RONG/.../SA-LO/

وايضا لدينا سنت لورينت بدلا عن سانت لاورينت

/SA-LOW-ONT/. Now the difficulty with this is the French "R"

سنت لورينت

والصعوبة هنا تكمن فى الرا الفرنسية

The French "R" sounds which is the /HƠ/,/HƠ/, from the back and I find very difficult to produce.

رااا الخلف تجد صعوبة فى صنع هذا الصت

We also have one that is a really really common limit pronounce in the UK.

وايضا لدينا واحدة لا يمكن على الاطلاق

نطقها بصورة صحيحة فى بريطانيا

And the reason we know we mispronounce it, it's because the phrase word that is in French.

والسبب الذي يجعلنا نعتقد ذلك هو

ان راشيل تعمل هناك فى فرنسا

And it should be "RALPH LAUREN"=> /ROU-'FLO-RANT/.

فلا بد أن تكون رالف لورين رالف لورين

But we for some reason pronounce it /ROU-'FLO-RENT/

لكن لبعض الأسباب ننطقها رالف لاورين

Another difficult one is "GIVENCHY".

وصعوبة أخري مع جيفانشى

/GI-VONG-SHI/.

جيفانشى

Oh, that is a tongue twister.

وتتطلب لوى اللسان

Now, the next one, it's not a fashion brand. But it is a luxury item.

اما التالية ليست علامة ازياء

لكنها اشياء اخرة

And it is "PORSCHE". We would call in the UK /'PO:-SH/

وهذا ما نطلقه عليها فى بريطانيا بورش

But it is actually called with 2 syllable, it should be /'PU-SHO/.

لكن فى الحقيقة تنطق مقطعين

وفى الواقع لابد من نطقها بورتش

And I test with my boyfriend, who's really into cars and he said /'PO-SH/ as well.

و تأكدت من صديقى الذي لديه علم بالسيارات

وقال لي بورش مع انها بورتش

When it should be /'PO-SHO/. So yeah, really common mistake.

نعم انها أخطاء شائعة
