Its potential impact has been calculated by scientists.

who focus on greenhouse gas emissions.

They calculated that educating and empowering women and girls

Thankfully, I survived,

Coming from a male-dominated society,

I've been asked all sorts of intrusive questions

as to why I do what I do.

"Can you even travel alone?"

"Are you capable of climbing mountains with your heavier figure?

I mean, are you fit enough?"

身為女性不應是妳夢想的終點，

"Do you think, as a woman, you're equipped to do this?"

And the answer has always been, yes.

I want to show my fellow Arab women that anything is possible,

妳同時也是幫忙解決 地球所面臨的危機的一份子。

that being a woman should not be the end to your dreams,

2020 年的數據顯示， 女性佔全球勞動力的 40%，

that you are so much more than what you are conditioned to be,

在中東，女性勞動力略低於 25%。

and that you are indeed the solution to the crisis facing our planet.

In 2020, women made up about 40 percent of the global workforce.

Women's shares in the Middle East are just under 25 percent.

And these figures are way lower in the Gulf countries.

And considering that women make up nearly half of the Gulf,

imagine how women's equal involvement in the economy

Many labor laws state

Yet women's upward mobility is quite restricted

and many senior positions are still being held by men.

造成嚴重障礙，就業無門。

The cultural perception that women are more emotional

受教育、就業機會和家庭計畫

or better suited to household responsibilities

remains a serious obstacle for ambitious women

不只能讓女人和女孩的生活更出色，

who end up underemployed.

同時也能提昇她們的家庭和社區。

So what does that have to do with the climate?

Well, access to education, employment and family planning

她們能有自己的收入，

實現職業生涯的目標， 降低健康方面的憂慮。

is the condition for more vibrant lives for women and girls,

不僅如此，她們的韌性也會更強，

for their families and their entire communities.

能夠應付糧食和自然環境的問題，

甚至面對氣候變遷帶來的影響。

They get to earn more money,

achieve career goals and face fewer health issues.

女性也是最常遭受生命危險的族群，

And not only that, they become more resilient

尤其是碰到颶風之類的氣候災難時，

and better equipped to manage both food and nature

例如我的祖國阿曼， 颶風發生的機率越來越頻繁。

and to cope with the impacts of climate change.

那為什麼是女性呢？

Women are also the ones most at risk

when it comes to impacts of climate catastrophes like cyclones,

她們要嘛不會游泳，

要嘛從來也沒人 教過她們基本的應變能力。

which have grown more frequent in my own home country of Oman.

比如，搭蓋臨時避難藏身處、生火，

And why?

Well because they're left with a charge of the children or elderly,

they don't know how to swim,

or simply because they never had basic resilience skills taught to them,

like building a shelter, making a fire

In fact, UN figures indicate
