Well, actually, these photos are exclusively of praying mantises.

We are blown away by how evolution led these incredible predators to blend

countless praying mantises gone.

မရေနိုင်တဲ့ ရှိခိုးကောင်တွေ ပျောက်ကွယ်သွားတယ်။

No matter how magical darkness is,

ဘယ်လောက်ပဲ မှော်ဆန်တဲ့ အမှောင်ထုဖြစ်ပါစေ၊

when it covers the Amazon tonight,

ဒီည အမေဇုန်ကို ဖုံးလွှမ်းတဲ့အခါ

these areas will be empty.

အဲဒီနေရာတွေက ကွက်လပ်ဖြစ်နေမှာပါ။

A silent mourning that few will hear.

လူနည်းစုသာ ကြားရမယ့် တိတ်ဆိတ်တဲ့ ကြေကွဲမှုတစ်ခုပါ။

We are documenting species that may not exist in future generations.

နောင်လာမယ့် မျိုးဆက်တွေမှာ မတည်ရှိလောက်တဲ့ မျိုးစိတ်တွေကို မှတ်တမ်းတင်နေတာပါ။

We’re just beginning to learn about them,

and we are sharing our discoveries

Last October,

we led our National Geographic-funded expedition

"Amazon from dusk to dawn,"

with a team of amazing scientists and storytellers

အဖွဲ့နဲ့အတူ National Geographic က ထောက်ပံ့တဲ့ လေ့လာရေးခရီး

eager to find new ways of exploring the night.

“Amazon from dusk to dawn” ကို ဥှီးဆောင်ခဲ့တယ်။

And here,

for the first time,

ခရမ်းလွန်ရောင်ခြည် စစ်စစ်နဲ့

you're going to see what happens when we expose praying mantises

ထိတွေ့တဲ့အခါ ရှိခိုးကောင်တွေ ဘာဖြစ်သွားလဲဆိုတာကို

to pure ultraviolet light.

ပထမဆုံးအကြိမ် သင်တွေ့ရမှာပါ။

LF: They all shine it back to us,

LF: သူတို့အားလုံးက ကျွန်တော်တို့ အိပ်မက်တောင်

in colors we could have never even dreamed of.

မမက်ဖူးတဲ့ အရောင်တွေနဲ့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ကို အရောင်ပြန်ဟပ်တယ်။

A brilliant blue is some species,

တောက်ပတဲ့ အပြာက မျိုးစိတ်တချို့ဖြစ်ပြီး

a soft and warming orange in others,

အခြားမျိုးစိတ်တွေမှာ နူးညံ့ပြီး မပြင်းတဲ့ လိမ္မော်ရောင်ပါ၊

and then all at once, on this beautiful hooded mantis.

ဒီနောက် ချက်ချင်းပဲ ဒီလှပတဲ့ ခေါင်းစွပ် ရှိခိုးကေောင်တွေပါ။

These colors are real,

ဒီအရောင်တွေက အစစ်ဖြစ်ပြီး

technology allowed us to see them with our naked eyes.

နည်းပညာက ဒါတွေကို သာမန်မျက်စိနဲ့ မြင်နိုင်စေတယ်။

A visible and magical fluorescence.

မြင်သာပြီး မှော်ဆန်တဲ့ လင်းလက်မှုပါ။

Even the dead leaf mantis was certainly sparkling like liquid fire.

အရွက်သေ ရှိခိုးကောင်တွေတောင် မီးအရည်လို ဝင်းလက်နေတယ်။

And to our delight,

ကျွန်တော်တို့ကို ကြည်နူးစေတာက

the whole jungle reverberated in unimaginable colors.

တောကြီးတစ်ခုလုံးဟာ စိတ်ကူးမရနိုင်တဲ့ အရောင်တွေနဲ့ တုန်ဟည်းသွားခဲ့တာပါ။

What are they trying to communicate?

Which other secrets are we missing?

And yet again,

rainforest at night shows us how little we understand about its beauty.

With hundreds of hours of nocturnal dives,

our expeditions are filled with wonders in the rainforest zootopia.

We are hoping these discoveries will kick off this new era

where science, arts, technology will bloom again
