I was 10 years old the separation of my parents  affected me a lot but not in the way you think

저는 10살이었습니다. 예전에 부모님의 별거가 나에게 많은 영향을 미쳤지만

I mean I was not sad because my parents got  divorced they had been fighting too much and  

부모님이 이혼하셨기 때문에 슬프지 않았다는 뜻은 아니었습니다. 부모님은 너무 많이 싸우셨고

I had to see that every day my siblings and I had  to watch them fight all the time it was horrible

매일 형제자매들과 그들을 지켜보아야 했습니다. 맨날 싸워서 그게 끔찍했기

that's why when they decided  to get divorced I was not sad  

때문에 이혼하기로 결정했을 때 나는 슬프지 않았다.

but what really affected me was the fact that  my brothers and my sister and I had to separate  

하지만 나에게 정말 영향을 미친 것은 형제와 여동생과 내가 헤어져야 한다는 사실이었다.

two of us could go with my father  and the other two with my mom

우리 둘은 아버지와 함께 갈 수 있었고 나머지 둘은 엄마랑

I was very close to them we grew up together  we always played together and also cry together  

아주 친해서 같이 자랐어요 늘 함께 놀기도 하고 같이 울기도 했어요

when my parents fought I was happy being with them  that's why it affected me a lot when we went apart

부모님이 싸웠을 때 같이 있어서 행복했어요 그래서 헤어졌을 때도 영향을 많이 받았어요

anyway my father stayed in my house with my sister  and my younger brother and my older brother and I  

어차피 아버지는 집에 계셨거든요 여동생 과 남동생 그리고 형과 저는

went with my mom to live to a different place  we rented a room in one of my mom's friend

엄마와 함께 다른 곳으로 살았습니다. 엄마 친구 집에 방을 빌렸지만

but we didn't have much money I remember my  mom used to pay 50 dollars a month or that

so we moved to another house  this time it was bigger

but we could only stay there for a year because  after that the house was going to be sold well if

sleep on the floor at first because we didn't have  a bed or furniture we were really poor remember

처음에는 침대나 가구가 없어서 바닥에서 자야 했어요. 정말 가난했던 기억이 나네요.

we had to live there in a very small place with  four walls without a bed or furniture we didn't  

우리는 침대나 가구도 없이 벽 네 개만 있는 아주 작은 곳에서 살아야 했고

even have a kitchen or a stove so we had to buy  food from a place which sold food at a low price

부엌이나 난로도 없었기 때문에 음식을 싸게 파는 곳에서 음식을 사야 했습니다.

I remember it cost one dollar soup main dish and  fruit it was not delicious but at least we could  

1달러짜리 수프 메인 요리와 과일이 맛없었지만 적어도 우리는

eat something we had to go there every day on  time otherwise they could leave us without food

매일 정시에 가야 하는 것을 먹을 수 있었다는 것을 기억하세요. 그렇지 않으면 음식 없이 우리를 떠날 수도 있었지만

anyway we had many shortcomings but we were happy  I mean I had my brother by my side and I used to  

어쨌든 우리는 많은 단점이 있었지만 행복 했습니다. 나와 내 옆에 있는 동생은

visit my other siblings every week it was not the  same but at least we could play together sometimes  

매주 다른 형제자매들을 방문하곤 했어. 같지는 않았지만, 그래도 가끔씩은 같이 놀 수 있었어.

while we were living in that mountain  my brother and I made a lot of friends  

그 산에 사는 동안, 나와 내 동생은 친구를 많이

we used to play together all the time every day

my mom used to get mad at us because  we stayed out playing until night

so we did not care about that matter my mom used  to sell medicinal herbs natural things to heal  

그래서 엄마가 쓰셨던 건 신경 쓰지 않았어요.

so we used to take torrents I mean My Brother and  Me one day my brother and the next day I was in

church of going with my mom to buy those things  it was very tiring but we had to do it anyway

our routine was in the morning we had to  help my mom with the products she used

we had a little time to play with our friends

one day I came back from a school I  remember that day very clearly it was Friday  

학교에서 돌아왔어 그 날이 금요일이었던 게 아주 선명하게 기억나

I got to my mom's little store  and she was crying I asked her  

why are you crying what happened  tell me but she didn't answer

대답은 그 사람이 나한테

then she told me we have to go to the house  right now come with me let's go I didn't know  

우리 집에 가야 한다고 말했어 지금 당장 나랑 같이 가자 난

what was happening I just told her okay let's  go but calm down tell me what's going on here

몰랐어 무슨 일인지 몰랐어 방금 그녀에게 알았어 가자라고 했지만 진정하고 무슨 일인지 말해봐

she didn't answer she just told me to hurry so  we went running to our house my mom was crying  

그녀는 대답하지 않았어 그냥 빨리 가라고 해서 집으로 달려갔어요 엄마가 울고 계셨어요 집에 가는

all the way home I just wanted to know what  was happening but she didn't tell me anything

내내 무슨 일이 일어나고 있는지 알고 싶었는데

when we got to our home I got it I understood  what had happened my house our home was not  

집에 도착했을 때 아무 말도 안 해주셔서 알았어요 무슨 일이 있었는지 이해했어요 내 집은 없어졌습니다.

there anymore it had disappeared there was only  a rubble where our house was supposed to be

더 이상 없어졌습니다. 우리 집이 있어야 할 자리에는 잔해만 남아 있었습니다. 깜짝

I was shocked I just stood there without saying  a word it turns out that we had been evicted  

놀랐습니다. 아무 말도 하지 않고 서 있었습니다. 알고 보니 우리는 쫓겨났습니다.

they the leaders have just destroyed our  house and it was all my father's fault

지도자들이 우리 집을 파괴했습니다.

these leaders had gone to  visit my father to his house  

이 지도자들이 내 아버지를 그의 집으로 방문하러 간 것은 모두 내 아버지의 잘못이었습니다.

there they asked him about my mother  and he said that she was still living

어려운 시기를 겪으면서 이 집을 구해 이 집을 구입하기 위해 열심히 일했고 매우 흥미로운 일을 많이 해야 했습니다.
