You've been studying english a long time you know you're good, but then you visit an english-speaking country, and you're like

I don't understand you. Well. We have a Few English expressions

لا أفهم ما تقوله. حسناً. لدينا بعض العبارات في اللغة الانجليزية

Which you probably didn't learn in school, but we use all the time

والتى لم تكن قد تعلمتها في المدرسة سابقاً, لكننا نستخدمها كل الوقت.

So here are five really useful really common English expressions

لذلك اقدم لكم هنا خمسة عبارات مفيدة ومنتشرة الاستخدام في اللغة الانجليزية

Number one is not fast not bothered. What does it mean you?

الاولى هي عبارة " لا يهم" أو "لا تفرِق". ماذا تعني؟

[want] to go for dinner and your friend says where shall we go for dinner Italian food Thai food

تريد أن تذهب للعشاء و صديقتك تقول لك: "إلى أين سوف نذهب؟ لتناول طعاماً ايطالياً أم تيلاندياً؟"

What kind of food and you want to say?

أي نوع من الطعام؟ وتريد ان تقول:

Everything sounds great. This is good. This is good. This is good. [I] have no preference you could say

كله مناسب. هذا يبدو مناسباً.هذا كذلك. لستُ أفضلُ شيء. يمكنك القول:

I'm not fast usually we contract it - not [fast]

"لا أفضل (شيء عن شيء)" و عادة ما ندمجها لقول (Not fussed)

pronunciation that sounds like it bust bust

اللفظ لحرف (d) في اخر الكلمة يكون Fusset (t) Fusset

Not facet no and eat the tea

ليس (Fassed) لا! ولا تبلع الصوت (t) (اي قم بتلفظه)

Not bothered not bothered not fast. This is a super common way to say I have no preference

Whatever you suggest. I'm happy with it and personally [I] am terrible at making [decisions]

كل ما تقترحه. أنا مسرور به. أنا شخصياً فظيع في اتخاذ القرارات.

So I use that expression all the time where do you want to go? I'm not first? What do you want to do today [Ali]?

لذا اقوم باستخدام هذه العبارة كل الوقت. أين تريد الذهاب؟ لا يهم. ماذا ستفعل اليوم يا الي؟

I'm not bothered. You're really not helpful

لا يهم. أنت حقا لا تقوم بالمساعدة

Hmm. This is basically every conversation

I ever have with my friends number two fair enough pronunciation be careful of that end R

أخوضها مع أصدقائي. رقم اثنين: "حسنا (عادل فيما يكفي)" بالنسبة إلى اللّفظ يجب الانتباه الى تحرف R في النهاية

Remember British English has linking R

تذكر في الانجليزية البريطانية يوجد R موصولا

So that end [R] sound links into the next word fair enough fair enough

لذا الR في اخر الكلمة تتصل بالكلمة التي تليها (FaiR Enough) (FaiR Enough)

Say with me fair enough, when do we use it we want to say that's acceptable. That's okay

ردد معي (fear enough)، متى نستخدم هذه العبارة؟ عندما نريد ان نقول بان ذلك مقبولا أو لا بأس بذلك

I accept that that's a that's fine

انا اقبل بذلك، هذا امر لا بأس به

It's your birthday party, but one friend cannot come why because they're working. I mean it's bad, but

انها حفلة عيد ميلادك، ولكن صديقا واحدا لا يستطيع القدوم لماذا؟ لانه في العمل. اعنى ان هذا امرا سيئا ولكن

You're not going to be angry your friend from working they have to work so your response is going to be

لن يغضبك هذا الامرلان على صديقك عليه ان يعمل، لذلك فان استجابتك سوف تكون

That's that's fair enough. You have to work. I understand hmM now

هذا (عادل بما يكفي = لا بأس في ذلك). يجب ان تعمل، اتفهم ذلك ممم، الان ...

The whole sentence is that's fair enough, but most commonly we lose that

العبارة كلها هي (that's fair enough) ولكن بطريقة شائعة جدا فاننا نحذف اسم الاشارة (that)

You have to work fair enough

يجب عليك ان تعمل، لا بأس في ذلك

So in [arguments]. This is a great way to stop an argument when you don't want to continue arguing

في الجدالات تعد هذه طريقة مهمة لانهاء النقاش وخصوصا عندما لا تريد الخوض فيه

Maybe you and another person have different opinions on religion politics

من الممكن ان تختلف مع شخص اخر في الاراء، في الدين او السياسة

Whatever you want to stop the argument for example. I'll learn [trub]

وباي طريقة تريد من خلالها انهاء الجدل. على سبيل المثال: انا احب ترامب

very simply you can say

بكل بساطة، يمكنك القول ...

You love tripp fair enough fair enough

انت تحب ترامب، لا بأس في ذلك (fair enough)

This stops an argument because you're saying okay your that's your opinion. This is my opinion

يمكن لردك هذا ان يوقف الجدل

You're not going to change my [mind]. I'm not going to change your mind. Let's stop done

لن تقوم بتغيير رأيي، ولن اقوم بتغييررأيك، لنتوقف، انتهى!

The next one is to say I suppose so commonly we lose the eye

العبارة التالية هي (I suppose so) بمعنى (افترض ذلك) - في العادة نهمل الضمير (I)

[we] just say suppose so but in conversation

نقول (suppose so) فقط ولكن في المحادثة

We speak fast so it sounds like suppose, so yeah suppose, so but what does it mean?

نتكلم بسرعة ولذا نسمعها ... ولكن ما الذي تعنيه

One reason is when you agree to do something and you're saying hmM. I?

احد الاسباب هو عندما تقوم بالموافقة على عمل شئ ما. وتقول اممم انا ...

Don't see why not why not, okay fine?

لا ارى لم لا، لم لا ؟ لا بأس

for example

على سبيل المثال

Perhaps a young boy is saying to his mum. Can we get some ice cream and the mum wants to say?

من الممكن ان يقول فتىََ لامه: هل نستطيع شراء بعض الايس كريم؟ وتريد امه ان تقول ...

Okay, [I] why not sure

اوكي! ولم لا، بالتأكيد

Yeah, [I] suppose so so maybe she doesn't completely want to but she's also saying I don't see a reason

نعم! افترض ذلك. من الممكن ان لا تكون الام راغبة تماما بشراء الايس كريم ولكن في الوقت نفسه لا ترى ما يمنع ذلك

Remember you agree with something so it could be someone says something

تذكر بانك تقوم بالموافقة على شيء ما، لذلك من المحتمل ان يقول شخص ما ...

اوه، اعتقد بانه زومبي، وتريد انت القول: نعم، اعتقد بانك محق، اعتقد بان الامر صحيحا وتقول ...

Suppose, so next one I'm afraid

س پوز سو (افترض ذلك) العبارة التالية: (I'm afraid ) ومعناها (اخشى)

Blah blah blah remember that I'm afraid means I'm scared yeah

بلا بلا بلا (للتعبير عن تكملة الجملة). تذكر بان (I'm afraid) تعنى (انا اخشى) او خائف

But in another context you can use it to say in a polite way, I'm sorry, but Bla Bla

ولكن في سياق مختلف، يمكنك قول العبارة بطريقة مهذبة، اسف ولكن بلا بلا بلا

So it could be to refuse something it could be to give information. Which is maybe bad news

ويمكن ان تعنى : لرفض شيء ما، يمكن ان تكون: لاعطاء معلومات، والتي ممكن ان تكون اخبار سيئة

Someone invites you to something can you come to my party, but you want to say ah I'm so sorry I can't

دعاك شخص الى شئ ، هل تستطيع القدوم الى حفلتي، ولكنك تريد ان تقول: اه، انا اسف، لا استطيع

then you could say this ah

حينها يمكنك ان تقول التالي: اه

I'm afraid I can't the pronunciation

اخشى اننى لا استطيع. التلفظ: ...

We've got the schwa afraid afraid I'm afraid I'm afraid I

عندنا هنا الصوت (شوا) ... طريقة تلفظ .... afraid

اخشى باننى لن استطيع ولكن على نحو نموذجي لا نقوم باستخدام اسم الاشارة (that)

We just [say] I'm afraid I can't I'm afraid he can't she can't

نقول فقط : انا اخشى باننى لن استطيع - اخشى بانه لن يستطيع - اخشى بانها لن تستطيع

Or much more simple and more versatile. I'm afraid not. I'm sorry [no]

او بشكل اكثر بساطة و متعدد الاستخدام: اخشى لا . اسف وكلا

Do you want to come out tonight? I'm afraid not are you feeling Super British now?

هل تريد الخروج الليلة؟ اخشى كلا (لا استيطع) هل تشعر بانك متحدث رائع بالانجليزية البريطانية الان؟

Well, you should after this fifth expression which is this

في الحقيقة، يجب ان تشعر بذلك بعد التعرف على العبارة الخامسة والتى هي ...

May as well or might as well this expression is super super common. You definitely need to learn it

ذلك ممكنا او ذلك محتملا - هذه العبارة جدا جدا شائعة وقطعا يجب عليك تعلمها

So what does it mean? How do we use it ah?

لذا، ماذا تعنى؟ وكيف لنا ان نستخدما ؟ اه

You arrive at a party and the party is rubbish. There's like one person

تصل الى حفلة والحفلة سيئة جدا، وهناك شخص واحد ملاحظة:(rubbish) تعنى نفايات، هراء، كلام فارغ

you don't like and the music is rubbish, and you're thinking oh if

هناك شخص واحد لا تطيقه، الموسيقى سيئة جدا وانت تفكر اوه، لو اننى ...

I had stayed at home that would have been better than here or at least no different. No more or less

بقيت في المنزل لكان ذلك افضل لي من هذا المكان او على الاقل لن تشكل فرقا، لا اقل ولا اكثر

Then you can say this

عندها تستطيع قول التالي:

[ah] [I] might as well have stayed at home

اه، لكان افضل لي لو بقيت في ا لمنزل

التلفظ

Eat the tea. I might as [well] might as well say with me might as well. I might as well

ابتلع حرف (t) اي لا تلفظه. قل معي : ...

Grammar have stayed we've got present perfect that is because it's a past action

بقيت القواعد ولم تتغيرعند استخدامنا لزمن المضارع التام بسبب حدوث الحدث في الماضي

to stay at home that will be a past action so have stayed and

للبقاء في المنزل ، سوف يكون هذا حدث في الماضى ولذا نقول have stayed

Remember of course you can say I may as well may as well have stayed at home

بالطبع تتذكر بانك تستطيع ان تقول (Iman as well) من الممكن كذلك لو بقيت في المنزل

This also could [be] a response to a suggestion when you want to say well

يمكن لهذا ان يكون استجابة لاقتراح عندما تريد قول كلمة well

There's nothing better to do then you can also use this

عندما لا يكون هناك شيئا اخر افضل يمكنك قوله، حينها يمكنك ايضا استخدام العبارة

Should we just shall we go home?

هلا ذهبنا (عدنا) للمنزل؟

He can say yeah might as well now. This is the short version. [what's] the long version?

يمكنه ان يقول، نعم من الممكن ذلك الان هذه الطريقة المختصرة لقول ذلك - ما هي الطريقة الطويلة؟

We might as well go home

من الممكن كذلك (من الافضل) ان نعود الى المنزل

So notice in the previous example. We said I might as well have stayed at home

لذا انتبه الى المثال السابق. لقد قلنا ... I might as well have stayed at home

Have stayed because it's a past action which was better

استخدمنا (have stayed) لان الحدث كان في الماضى والذي بدا افضل

This action is a future action

هذا الحدث هو حدث في المستقبل

Might as well go home in the future

من الممكن (الافضل) كذلك العودة الى المنزل في المستقبل

There's no house might as well go

لا يوجد (have) (might as well) نعود الى ...

Home and that verb will not change whether it's he she it doesn't matter. It's always in the infinitive

المنزل ولن يتغيير هذا الفعل بكل الاحوال فيما اذا كان he او she او it - لا يهم فهو دائما في زمن المستقبل

Now I did just say use it when there is nothing better to do. I don't mean wow

الان، انا قلت للتو استخدمه عندما لا تكون هناك عبارة افضل يمكنك استخدامها ولكن لا اعنى واااو

There is nothing better to do I don't mean it like that. I mean it like this

لا توجد طريقة افضل لقولها ، انا لا اعنى ذلك، انا اعنيها كذلك ...

Well nothing better to do [I] can't think of anything

حسنا، ليس هناك شيئ افضل لفعله، لا استطيع ان افكر بشئ معين

Like [that] so so be careful. How you use it try [to] use those expressions in the comments and in your real life
