If there’s an emergency, what number do you dial for help?

اذا كان هناك حالة طوارئ ، ما هو الرقم الذي ستتصل عليه للمساعده ؟

In the US it’s 911.

في الولايات المتحده رقم الطواريء ٩١١

And in the UK it’s 999 or 112.

وفي بريطانيا الرقم ٩٩٩ او ١١٢

It’s 112 in most European countries.

١٢٢ في اغلب دول اوروبا .

Emergency numbers are generally short – usually just three numbers.

ارقام الطوارئ بشكل عام قصيره وغالبا تكون ثلاث ارقام.

So you can remember them and dial them quickly.

لذلك تستطيع ان تتذكرهم وتتصل بهم بسرعه .

They’ll connect you to the service you need, like ambulance, police or fire.

ويقوم مركز الطوارىء بإيصالك بالخدمه التي تحتاجها مثل الاسعاف ، الشرطه او قسم الحرائق.

What emergency are you reporting?

ما الطوارىء االتي تبلغ عنها ؟

Ambulance, police or fire brigade?

سيارة اسعاف ، شرطة او اطفاء حريق ؟

What do we call the people who answer the phones?

ماذا نسمي الناس الذين يردون على الهواتف ؟

Well, they have several names.

حسنا، لديهم عدة اسماء.

They’re operators because they operate the phones.

انهم عاملوا الهواتف او المشغلون لانهم يشغلون الهواتف .

Or responders because they answer questions and do things.

او المستجيبين لأنهم يردون على الأسئله وعمل الاشياء.

Or dispatchers because they send people to help.

او المرسل لأنهم يرسلون الاشخاص للمساعده .

My husband has choked on some food and he’s not breathing.

اختنق زوجي ببعض الطعام وهو لا يتنفس.

In emergency calls, it’s crucial to state your location – to tell the dispatchers

في مكالمات الطوارئ ، من المهم تحديد موقعك واخبار المرسلين أين انت ؟

where you are.

Location is the most important thing.

الموقع هو أهم شيء

If they don’t know where you are, they can’t send help.

What’s the address of the emergency?

Where are you exactly?

Give any useful information you can about location.

أعطني أي معلومات مفيده عن الموقع .

You need to be exact and as helpful as possible.

يجب ان تكون مفيدا و دقيقا قدر الإمكان .

It’s 4 Vandyke Street and we’re in flat 6 on the second floor.

شارع ڤاندايك رقم ٤ و نحن في شقه ٦ الطابق الثاني.

It’s the building on the corner, with two big antennas.

انه المبنى الموجود بالزاوية ، و يوجد هوائيتبن كبيرتين .

You might be able to name a local landmark or nearby business.

ربما تستطيع ان تسمي معلم محلي او تجاري قريب .

We’re in front of the Philadelphia art museum.

نحن أمام متحف فيلادلفيا .

We’re across the street from the Bagel Factory.

نحن على تقاطع شارع مصنع الخبز .

The address is really crucial, so the dispatchers will want to check they’ve got it right.

العنوان مهم للغاية . لذلك سيرغب المرسلون في التحقق من أنهم حصلوا عليه بشكل صحيح .

Can you repeat it to make sure I have it correctly?

هل يمكنك اعادة الموقع للتأكد من الحصول عليه بشكل صحيح ؟

So the address is 20 Vandyke Street?

That’s where we’re going, right?

Once they have the address they can send help.

بمجرد حصولهم على العنوان يمكنهم ارسال المساعدة .

But stay on the line so they can collect more information.

If someone is hurt or injured, they’ll ask you about the patient.

اذا اصيب شخص ما او تعرض لجرح فسوف يسألونك عن المريض .

Is the patient male or female?

How old is he?

كم عمره ؟

You might not know the patients’ age and that’s all right.

قد لا تعرف عمر المرضى و ذلك ممكن .

You can make a rough guess.

يمكنك ان تخمن بشكل تقريبي .

She’s a young teenager.

انها مراهقه شابة .

Oh, he’s middle-aged.

أوووه !، انه في منتصف العمر .

She looks like she’s in her late twenties.

يبدو انها في اواخر العشرينات من عمرها .

Two more important questions are ‘are they conscious?’ and ‘are they breathing?’

هناك سؤالين مهمين : هل هم واعين ؟ هم هم يتنفسون ؟

Conscious means awake and able to understand what’s happening.

واع تعني مستيقظ وقادر على فهم ما يحدث .

And breathing means taking air into the lungs and sending it out again.

و التنفس يعني استنشاق الهواء للرئتين واعادة ارساله للخارج .

Is he conscious?

هل هو واع ؟

Is she awake?

هل هي مستيقظه ؟

Is he breathing?

هل يتنفس؟

Does she appear to be breathing?

هل يبدو انها تتنفس ؟

Is he fully alert?

هل هو في حالة تأهب ؟

If you’re alert, you can think quickly and clearly, so you know what’s happening.

اذا كنت في حالة تأهب تستطيع ان تفكر بسرعه و بوضوح ، لذلك ستعرف ماذا يحدث ؟

The responders may also want information about the accident and what’s happening now.

المستجيبين ايضا يريدون معلومات عن الحادث وماذا يحدث الآن .

Tell me exactly what happened?

اخبرني بالضبط ماذا حدث ؟

What’s happening now?

ماذا يحدث الآن ؟

Are you with the patient right now?

هل انت مع المريض الآن؟

Are you alone?

هل انت وحدك ؟

Is anyone helping?

هل هناك اي شخص يساعد ؟

Is someone giving first aid?

هل هناك شخص يعطي اسعافات اوليه ؟

Is anyone giving CPR?

هل هناك شخص يعطي انعاش قلبي رئوي ؟

First aid is simple medical treatment that we give to people before a doctor comes.

الاسعافات الأوليه هي علاج طبي بسيط نقدمه للناس قبل ان يأتي الطبيب .

CPR is the abbreviation for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

CPR هو اختصار للانعشاش القلبي الرئوي .

It’s when you press on someone’s chest to keep them alive if they’ve stopped breathing

وهو عندما تقوم بالضغط على صدر الشخص لإبقائه على قيد الحياه اذا توقف عن التنفس .

or if their heart has stopped beating.

او اذ نبض قلبه توقف .

The emergency service might want you to stay and help.

قد تطلب منك خدمة الطوارئ البقاء والمساعدة .

And then they’ll give you instructions.

و هم سوف يقدمون لك التعليمات .

My co-worker fell off a ladder and he’s bleeding.

زميلي في العمل سقط من فوق الدرج و هو ينزف .

Where are you?

اين انت ؟

We’re at the construction site at 20th and Arch.

Is anyone coming?

Yes, help is on the way.

نعم ، المساعده بالطريق .

Coming around means becoming conscious again.

(عاد مجددًا) تعني ان الشخص عاد للوعي

So you’re unconscious and then you come round or come to.

اذا انت (غير واع) وبعد ذلك يعود لك الوعي.

It means become conscious.

معناه ان تصبح واع .

We saw a lot of blood there.

نحن نرى الكثير من الدم هناك.

Blood is the red liquid that flows through your body.

الدم هو سائل احمر يتدفق عبر جسمك .

If blood is spurting, it's coming from an artery.

اذا كان الدم يتدفق فإنه يخرج من الشريان .

The heart pumps blood through arteries.

And if blood is pouring, it's probably coming from a vein, and it's on its way back to the

When you lose blood, you bleed.

To vomit means to be sick.

ان تتقيأ يعني انت مريض .

To bring up your food.

Ambulances, police cars and fire engines all have sirens.

سيارة اسعاف . سيارة شرطه و سيارة اطفاء كلهم لديهم صفارات انذار .

[makes the noise] No that's a British siren.

(تقلد صوت صفارات الانذار في بريطانيا )

An American one goes [makes the noise] And that’s it everyone!

Yeah.

But there’s one more thing we should mention.

لكن هناك شي اخر يجب ان نذكره .

Don’t call the emergency services unless you really need them!

لا تتصل على الطوارئ الا اذا كنت بحاجه لهم .

Don’t make calls that waste their time.

لا تقم بإجراء مكالمات تضيع الوقت .

Only call if it’s an emergency.

فقط اتصل اذا كان هناك حالة طوارئ .

It’s got to be something where you need help right way.

يجب ان يكون شيئا يحتاج للمساعده .

A medical emergency or immediate danger.

حالة طبيه طارئه او خطر فوري .

We hope that never happens to you!
